G16 service thiefs

My G15 vana top got stolen today, along with the fee + EoD. I was told by 10+ people the person doing it was trustworthy, them even linking gear made by the same person.

I'm new to the game, only been playing a month now, but many have told me GMs help with this issue.

As hopeful as I was, upon sending a ticket, I was told they are unable to help retrieve ANY lost items.

This is blasphemy, as others have had items given back, even in this scenario as my research seems to lead to.

So is there anything I can do?

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do. My only recommendation is either buy the tailor/.weapon crafting from the boutique when on sale, or only have someone you know and trust to do it for you like an upstanding member in the faction you belong to.

Sadly on RT there are a few low life scum sucking pieces of **** that do this as well to people. Unfortunately when people wc a warning others on wc tell those warning people to shut up and stop wcing it.

There is no guarantee against theft. You took a risk and got burned; it's not the GM's job to bail you out.

You've been playing a month and already needing G16 gear? You've rushed through the game and know very little about it, which makes you gullible. Find a group of friends, join a faction, let those people offer you G16 service.

Even in faction be careful whom you trust. I found that struggling players will take the chance to **** you over in factions if the payoff is right.

I do not ask people for weapon reroll service though, no matter who they are. If the weapon comes out double or triple int, hearts can change b:chuckle.

The reason why people love G16 is because it is great gear and it is FREE. Why would you pay someone to get it? It only requires a bit of your time and is not that hard to acquire.

You can submit a ticket again, and hope for a friendly response from the ticket people, beside that i would say learn the lesson from this.

It also could be that the person dc, had to go out. Just contact them again and see if the situation can be resolved before thinking the worst.

Normally you can trust people that are known on a server, are part of a known faction and have people vouching for them. Your post makes me think of some options:

1: the people vouching for him were not really people but his own alts.

2: You are not telling us everything like for example not wanting to pay the coins for the service to get back your item.

3: You have been so anoying that you managed to turn an honest person into a dishonest one.

    Nope, nothing can be done.

in the past some people actually got their items back after sending tickets, so dont give up, but most poeple did not. it is ofc absolutely 'coincidental' that those who got their items back with the help of the staff were heavy cash shoppers - and those who didn't get help (even those who got scammed under IDENTICAL circumstances), weren't heavy cash shoppers. :P

there is reason why 'well known' players sell crafting services with a hefty 'trust-fee'. the likelihood of them ruining their reputation over a few million is slim. that is why why 'randoms' offer cheap crafting services; to compete with those fees, and, sadly, some to scam people.

pro tip for both sellers and buyers:
eliminate the 'trust' issue by trading 'safety' deposits.
if you give the person that is going to craft you items that are woth ~20m, then demand something that is of similar value, that can be sold equally fast.

Join date is only linked to the first time you post on the forums. Look at my join date. I've been playing since Oct, '08.

@ OP, the solution is to not trust anyone that isn't a good friend you've known for a long time, or to farm and make your own gears. I wouldn't trust anyone I don' know with something like that.

This is why a lot of people have a join date much more recent than the real one. But this doesn't explain how someone new to the game can have a join date from 2013.

Anyway this doesn't really change anything to this topic.
The only people I heard about that got some of their items back are :
    - People that got their account stolen
    - People that sold items to NPC by mistake.

Not much to do in your situation according to me except being more careful next time.

Could have created an account back then and logged into the forums only to realize their computer is not up to running the game or they didn't have time.

Also, OP, always screenshot any crafting trades you make, and although you're unlikely to get the items back, you may, if you keep sending tickets, be able to get that person banned. Unlikely, but with proof, like screenshots, you could try.

These, and occasional catshop scams (like when bound gear didn't show as bound in shops) are the only times I have heard of people getting gear back also. They rather expect you to be smart enough not to trade a valuable piece of equipment off to someone you don't know very well, and I agree.

I've had help crafting a few pieces from people that had molds, but they were close and trusted friends. That said, had one of them changed face and stolen the item, I'd have known I had nobody to blame but myself so I wouldn't even have ticketed it.

This, so much this. If the seller is unwilling to give you an equal collateral trade, don't do it.

Me personally, I trust no one with my gear. I'd rather take the time to farm rather than take the risk in trusting another player.

I'd say the chance is not good you'll get anything back from GMs about this, but no harm in trying. Chalk this up to a life lesson and continue on all the wiser and with a healthy dose of distrust and jadedness.

Sad to see the amount of "trust noone" advise.

Using intuition, common sense and limiting the amount at stake based on that intuition and common sense is much nicer imo than to live in full paranoia. Distrust is not a good life lesson really.

This is why I have suggested those molds be made tradable. You'd still have to work for the badges to make it so no clue why PWI has not changed this...would lead to a lot less scamming.

You are assuming if molds are tradeable, people will farm badges. OP and other like them buy the service because they do not farm badges. If people farmed badges, your mold will drop. If you don't farm, 100% chance of never getting your mold.
