Purge weapons on a bm

How does the game decide someone needs to be purged from a weapon b:chuckle? Kidding aside, if i have two purge weapons, pole+axe.

I hit a target with purge pole 3 times, there is no purge, I switch to axe. Will the purge proc counter get reset to 0 for axe, or continue from the pole? If i switch from purge pole to fists to purge axe, will counter get reset to 0?

After minimal testing i found that when you are lucky, you get a purge withing 3 shots, otherwise usually takes 20 hits to get stuff rolling. If the counter is reset, you have approximately 6 tries to get a purge within 3 shots.

So far i haven't had time to test this in nw. I can't do it in tw, because the second i step ahead of my squad i get splattered. I like to test on barbs, that don't hit hard.

    It's a percentage chance. The numbers I've heard are 5% for normal purge and 6% for Spirit Blackhole. Just because you've attacked X times in a row does not increase the chances of your next hit purging.

    Also purge will not proc if the attack applies another status. For example Fissure will never proc Purge because it applies Slow status. You need to use normal attacks or skills with no status effects.

    I'll test it out, purge does happen, but my macro is army crusher, highland cleave, fissure, army crusher. Will edit this post when more awake.
