Some stuff that could make the game better

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who noticed this, but if you didn't noticed, I'll tell you.
Have you noticed how the characters wield their weapons? How they attack? I think that a fighter that attacks like that would probably die in seconds.. What about casters wielding huge magic swords and swinging them as if they were made of cardboard?
My point is: I think the game should be more realistic in these facts, like giving melee characters proper fighting moves, thinking more about how -every- animation in the game would do with the overall interaction. I would love to see characters wielding weapons properly, and even maybe think something about casters using those gigantic swords having only 50 str on average.
I also think this didn't change because of many factors: maybe lack of money, maybe they can't hire people good enough to fix that, maybe that would take a long time to fix, or maybe they are just too lazy for that.
Also some weird bugs like stuff passing through the textures and getting stuck in midair because of weird physics.

>Realism
>Fantasy world where you can conjur dragons with the swing of an axe or Ice with a poleblade
Heh.
The only thing that really ought to be done is have such weapons sheathed when the player's not in combat mode....like Seekers already do.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Remember: OP may be a duck|OP/GMs/Devs may not deliver|Search function is your friend|Lurk more|Be wary of Mods: they can't be trusted|This place isn't a hugbox|Your tears sustain me|Know what Bait is|"Soon" may never come|Postcount, Dubs, and other GETs are important|Don't revive long dead threads|There is a section for everything|You can be banned for anything|No Fun Allowed outside of OT|Sweetiebot rules OT|"Circlejerks" are inevitable|Threads can be derailed and saved|Those who use"XD" should off themselves at their earliest convenience|0 -
>Realism
>Game in which we can double jump over buildings and fight monsters far larger than houses by swinging our weapons at their toes when they'd realistically step on our characters and not notice anything
I'm sorry but the very premise of realism in a game where we can run on lava without convection instakilling us and where the square-cube law has had many MANY questionable things done to it in the back alley? Just tell yourself it's magic because that's as good of an explanation and as much "realism" as we'll get.
I'd understand if your complaint was about gameplay mechanics not making any sense between each other like how the 51 str male cleric can carry the 300 str female BM, armor, weapons, and everything else while said cleric can't even carry the BMs helm.... and yet the BM is incapable of doing the same for the cleric. But... that's not even close to your complaint and so I can't really help but giggle a bit about it.(Insert fancy image here)0 -

Speaking of which, I'm really quite annoyed at the sexism and heteronormativity here. However, my guess is that the carry mechanic comes from the devs in China, and they are too conservative to change it.Camlyra-Raging Tides. Since the avatar is broken.

Actually, my point is about the realism on the -moves-. If you think it's magical when a barb totally opens his guard when he swings his polehammer, then you probably don't know how a real combat works.
And okay, maybe the casters and their huge weapons could actually be magical somehow.0 -

PWI needs more feminism, call the venos.
(That's also more realistic, right?)0 -

Heck, the entire idea of dual wielding is asking to get screwed over if we attempted to apply the slightest bit of realism to things. Two handed sword? Sure. One handed? Sure. Putting a sword in both hands and expecting that to get you ANY results that benefit you? Hahahahahahaha nope! Not in real life.
You can't apply real life logic to this. Look at archers, half the bows don't have drawstrings and the "close range penalty" makes almost no sense if we were to be realistic. The very manner with which weapons are even -carried- are ridiculous if we wanted to get realistic here. And let's not even get started on the "armor" that's either far too bulky and decorative to offer any real protection or leaves many vital areas exposed as if painting a giant target on your characters for the enemy to aim at.
Like I pointed out, the game takes basic PHYSICS and utterly laughs at it. When regular people can double jump over houses, maybe then we can talk about how the weapon swings in this game (and many many MANY others) completely ignore realism for doing what looks "cool". Til then, it's magic and you'll need to use suspension of disbelief to pretend it's somehow viable in this world.(Insert fancy image here)0 -
Eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Forget it. I regret posting this.0

All those -filter circumvention- arent realistic either, wheres all the A-cups and BMI 30+ ladies ?Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0

While I respect your opinion on this, and desire to see the game improve, realism isn't really going to show here. True, they do leave openings, but as Kossy said, there are so many other aspects of the game that are fantasy based that it (and I mean no offense) makes your post seem largely invalid. My cleric's G16 armor has her **** exposed, and fire is coming from them. Lol.
And the size of a weapon (I.e casters with large magical weapons) means little compared to the weight of it, in realism. So if one weapon is made of enchanted aluminum, and the other is made of T-10 steel, the steel material is going to be heavier, despite the enchanted aluminum weapon being larger.
Even moreso, my cleric uses wind and lightning attacks...yet the game calls them metal based. Going off of realism, when I attack anything in the water, snow, mist, ice...my lightning should do much more damage. If I attack anyone in cold environments, my wind should deal a great amount more of damage. If I use wind underwater, it should case whirlpools, and a wizards blade tempest should set fire to the forests. Guards would help me when attacked by mobs, instead of looking at me and laughing, and my baby pets would have some sort of functionality. I'm not saying that your point is negligible, nor trying to imply it. I'm saying to try not to focus on the realistic aspect of a fantasy based game, or you're going to find a lot of disappointing features, and reduce your own overall enjoyment of the game.
As someone else said, I would like to see a sheathe weapon function however.
Truth is, PWI isn't the newest game on the block, and some games are going to be more realistic, and some will be more fantasy based. Like how my mounts die in other games when I jump off mountains....but in this game, my ninetails lives when I jump in volcanoes....."Male Player using female toon. Please don't flirt with me."

Realistic in a game world? How many mens with a tiger face have you seen in real world? How many girls change in a foxes in the middle of the street? How many ppl go invisible? And how many fly up? how many weapons like in PW have you seen in real world?
Casters using giant weapons? Ofc they use giant weapons cause is a fantasy world and in a fantasy world everything is posible0 -

Entering a wall, floating in mid-air and being pulled back by a mountain as well.
When the OP referred to "Realism" he was just requesting some more QUALITY to the game. Less stupidly exaggerated fantasy that we are sure does NOT refer to fantasy, but bad quality of the game.
I know this game is old enough, what the OP is requesting is just "More fluid motions" like newest games. Games which use Motion Capture techonologies to achieve such fluid motions. More "Belieavable and enthusiastic" effects, more LIFE to this game. That! Is what the OP requests.
Like adding some waves before giant mantas to make them "Look" like they can really float.
Make us believe the fantasy, not make it real.[S.E.V.C.H.E.N.K.O]
