Arc won't launch

Arc won't launch no matter what I do. PWI worked fine when I last played a month ago or so, but now that I heard it demands Arc to be running (is this actually true?) in order to play PWI, I can't play anymore. Arc won't launch, the game won't either. I haven't done any changes on my laptop since it last worked. It works fine on my desktop PC, but I need it to run on my laptop.
Aside from using the "repair arc" function and messing with the compatibility modes, what else is there I can do? I'm hopeless with computers...

    What exact Error u are getting please post it here in this section with a screenshot.
    Make sure to add ARC/PWI in your anti-virus exception list then try running the "Repair" option from ARC.

    My antivirus isn't blocking it as far as I can tell. But I can't find where to add arc to my exceptions (I'm using Avira). Anyway, I have been using it for a very long time, but the issue with Arc is recent.
    I can't take a screenshot of the error since I'm not getting an error message, nothing. I double click it, I try to open it in any way possible, and the mouse icon shows it's attempting to launch, but after a few seconds, it fails. Arc doesn't show up in my task manager either.
    I've tried to reinstall Arc twice now. It seems to be my laptop (win8)

    On my desktop PC, I'm using win7, same antivirus as on laptop. It works fine there, never had an issue.

    And like I said, until about four weeks ago, PWI worked fine on my laptop as well. Dunno about Arc, since I never needed it after I installed the game. But now it seems you can't play without having Arc run in the background.

    Send a ticket then... See what they have to see about it also you can poke Sparkiesoft about it he is in-charge of ARC & PWI....

    I am having the same problem! I've tried everything! Tried it with various compatibility modes, tried it as an administrator, tried it with different administrator settings, listed Arc as an exception so my firewall/antivirus wouldn't block it, and I've even tried it with my firewall and antivirus turned off!

    I don't understand why it won't launch as I've actually had Arc installed on Windows 8 before, so this is a completely new problem it seems. Any help would be really appreciated (and I swear if I get advice to do the things I've already done... Sorry I just see people offering the same advice over and over).

    I guess PWE just doesn't care that a large portion of their player base is unable to even launch Arc... Seriously, I have been waiting forever to get a reply to my ticket and it seems now that this company is like Nexon, meaning they ignore tickets or only have like one person answering them... Awesome customer service considering how much money I've dumped into the game...
