Arc "Playing Time" doesn't make sense

When you click on the avatar of a poster, it will take you to an Arc page listing some info (in the past it went to Core Connect). Under Activity, the first thing you see is join date. This information appears to be accurate. Underneath that, however, it says Total Playing Time and seems to just list some random number. Mine currently states 6 hrs 44 min, and I cannot make that fit with anything. That isn't how long I played yesterday, nor is it the time since last login, nor is it an average of what I play daily (and since I've been playing daily since 2008 it certainly isn't cumulative).

This can give a bad impression in some cases. In the past I used to check Core Connect to see if people that applied on our forum ad had disappeared or joined another faction when I didn't hear back from them. In this case I was trying to determine the same thing, and forgot we had no Core for a moment until it took me to the Arc page. Whereupon I saw said character had a total playing time of 1 day, and was thinking that he'd quit already - until I decided to check my own.

What is this number? Perhaps you should just remove it to avoid the confusion if it can't be accurate.

    I have zero playing time apparently. lol

    Might be that it only accumulates if you actually got arc open while playing...?

    As mentioned above, the playing time counter seems dependent on you having Arc open while playing. Those of my friends that bypass Arc (myself included) have no playing time recorded, while those that don't seem to have no issue with the number.

    I bypass it as well and it shows 16hrs 22min for me. Sneaky arc stayed alive after redeeming jolly blessing codes @_@

    Yeah. It's playing time while Arc is enabled.

    If you bypass Arc or close Arc, it's unable to actually track this so you won't have any playing time recorded.

    I did think of having Arc open being the case. However, I only use it to get blessings (which I've only done maybe twice, since I had them stacked) so 6 hours seems pretty extreme for that.

    Might depend on which process tracks and reports the playing time. Maybe you had the arc overlay process open at some point and didn't realize it? If that's even the one that tracks it, because I wouldn't know. All I know is, I love my 0min 0sec. :P

    Arc starts tracking the time played the moment a game is launched, so what you're seeing should be the time played when you have a game open. It won't count if you just have Arc idle with no game, theoretically anyways.
