Proper Preparation (Sharding)

What gets me is that, at my current level of damage (12 weapon w/ 170ish attack levels and nearly pure magic, 700+) I still can't break certain JOSD classes- while a new genie will go a span towards helping that...and squad play will go a deal further, in situations where I can rely on neither I'd rather allow my sharding to present a situation that wouldn't have otherwise appeared.
While sharding Jades is going to give the best average defense, and garnets/vit stones rule their perspective defenses...the only one that will break anothers defense is sharding with Diety and falling back on refines to cover defense.
While gearing up it's possible to focus on something other 1st, but when reasoning in final gear you will always lack something. Refining armor more to shard Deity, would come to the same as sharding Jades and focus on lvling S battle/destroyer cards to make up for it.
What you say about struggling to break through certain classes, it's true. But equal geared they will also struggle to get through you. You won't faceroll 1hit classes like wizard does (or used to do). On that I really don't agree with some psychics, that seem stuck in the old days imo. Seems you noticed, so take your decision according to where your priorities are.
Just keep in mind how much more Deity helps. Imo, it's not really worth it compared to the cost and gain of defensive shards adds.Allonade - Dreamweaver wrote: »In my experience, limited compared to some as it may be, outliving your squad usually accomplishes little more than charm **** as they will either leave you alone and move past you- or sit and tick your charm which, while allowing your squad a rebuff and new foothold, is not productive especially as you're making no headway either...
Seriously, this depends where :
In some group pvp organised on the map, yeah, not much use.
In NW, sometimes it's good to have ppl focus on you so rest of your nation can go dig flag/crystal or focus tower. Sometimes it's just a charm **** for some extra credit.
In NW, buying time is very important most of the time.
When you outlive your squad, there are 3 things you can do :
1) Kite and try to get away. Defensive shards will help you more.
2) Kamikaze try to take out some key targets. Survival depends on immunities so Deity will help more.
3) Focus surviving and take out some easy kills, so you buy time for rest of squad to rebuff. Defensive shards will help you more.
Option 2 or 3 are productive. They won't ignore you and get past you normally. If they do, they will end up with a cc and aoe damage from behind (if you survive so long, you outgear them). Even a psychic camping white voodoo behind them is a pain in the *** to have at your back. Ignoring will lead to having a psychic black voodoo behind them, taking out the support.
Personally, I find buying time most productive. But that's also based on the situations. My squad has some with gear close to mine, so if they all died except me, I won't be killing any important target in the time of my imunities (that will probably already on cd considering the situation). Going white and trying to survive as much as possible gives the time for my squad to rebuff and have seal run out, unless I'm 1vs30 ofc.0 -

This seems like a rather odd statement from you, given that wtf you'd agree I have more experience than you. xD
At any rate, it's not that JOSDs are bad, it's just that Deity is better suited for the job. A Psy with neither can survive and DD just fine, and both JOSD and Deity are useful. Yes, you can expect additional attention with Deity and that moreso than the lack of defense levels will get you killed, but my point was more....if this thread were asking me which is better for 1v1s, I'd say JOSD. (makes the fights slower and easier to anticipate, Deity makes them more fast-paced and unpredictable) In TW or NW though, expect barbs with full JOSD and yes, it's your job to kill them and yes, Deity does that better. Yes, choosing Deity likely makes your job HARDER because the enemy team will say "it's that Deity Psy, everyone look out for him," but that alone is useful. You become a giant obstacle for the enemy team that they're constantly watching out for, allowing your fellow magic DDs more breathing room. For YOU it sucks to get that kind of attention, but does it suck for your team? Absolutely not, you're a huge asset, both for your killing ability and for the extra attention you demand from your opponent. (a JOSD Psy kiting back will be viewed as "eh whatever," a deity kiting back gets viewed as "gotta keep my eye on him in case he returns," which again helps your team)

I can surely recognize the merits of more attack IF you are capable of actually using it efficiently.
But it looks to me as though my main problem in last TW's and NW's I went to was lagg. And its not only me, a lot of people were complaining about same aspect. Yes you can go simple model and all other settings, but in a 80 vs 80 I stlil get lagg.
I sometimes found myself with (not kidding b:angry) 2-3 frames per second max. In an ideal scenario where one does not have real lagg issues I could see myself going directly for deities. Yes psy have plenty ways to avoid heavy incomming damage until getting to a more safe place. Yes I appreciate the fact that enemies have a bit more pressure to handle BUT at some point I am getting tired of for example going to NW, seeing some archer comming for me, trying to use psy will and noticing I am already dead.
If sharding for deffense gives me a bit more chances to tank some damage until I can react, its what I shall go for.
Gotta be honest, at the moment its too expensive for me to consider, but thought that my input may be valid for some of the undecided people.
In short, if lagg is not a problem I would got for deities. I do not want to be a tank, I think gears +12 (10 currently) give enough deff for a psy to handle some pressure, deal damage and kite back if needed. And I kinnda like the adrenaline rush I get knowing that one wrong move will get me killed. Its why I play psy, if done correctly u get to control and do massive damage, but u need to always be on your guard.
HOWEVER, if you find yourself laggy most of the times, JoSD's allow you to actually enjoy a bit of the game.0 -
Not t be an *** or anything but if you wanna be tanky then just go roll a barb b:avoid0
