    Running a successful faction isn't easy. It's a lot of work, time and organization. It is also a group effort. Oh and nobody really appreciates all the hard work put into one. Instead of flame bating, yea I know your all angry about dark. Post things that actually have sustenance to them. Thanks.

    I appreciate the hard work put into a faction. You make "friends."

    It can be easy when there is 1 person in charge and not 50 opinions.

    depends on what your goals are as a faction, but cover the basics.
    1: have a goal example tw or not, just a hang out or a place to help others.
    2:get people who are active and not just looking for a faction to dump alts(too many alts kill a faction)
    3:Help members but don't baby them, by that i mean don't fc members from lvl1-100, do that and they will leave, same for gear if they want tt gear and such have them come on runs and show them the hang of things.
    4: a faction site would most likely help keep people active and willing to stay
    5:do faction events such as maybe a faction auction to raise funds for factions need such as a base or tw.
    6:having a vent/raidcall/skype channel will help people communicate(if doing tw it is a must and can be very helpful)

    those are some basic steps to keeping a good faction running I think.

    I'll be honest, this way of thinking is the reason problems occur. "I know you are members of MY faction but at the end of they day I call the shots" This is what makes people say **** off because if im going to bust my *** off for as you put it "YOUR" faction you will let me get a say in what happens. The fact of the matter is if you treat your subordinates oppinions like it is completely beneath yours you either are left with

    A) people who say **** off and leave

    B) people who say im going to defy your athority because I can

    C) fall in like people who cant think for themselves (rare but it does happen)

    Best way in my oppinion to lead a faction is make your faction feel like thier oppinion matters and earn thier respect and let them accept you as thier leader not demand it

    How our faction works this may work for you but might not.

    Everyone I mean Everyone is important a faction is not a faction without members!

    Always listen to your officers they more often know what is going on. So surround yourself with good officers! Remember it takes a lot of people to run a faction not just the leader!

    Seek out active members. I do very little recruiting on world chat! Most members are hand picked or come because a friend was chosen.

    Many do not realize how big a faction DarkerOne is because we keep a low profile.

    We are nice to all and helpful. All members are included they get a big welcome when they join! We say hi when they come on each day and bye when they log off.

    If a request for help is ask in faction chat we respond! Even if unable to help we respond with reason so they know the request was heard and members are aware.

    We do not allow drama in faction chat take it to private room or officers pm and see what the problem is. We offer help and runs we help members to reach their goals a happy faction is a successful faction. We have fun and do faction duels and parties. I am leader but do not promote or demote without the officers being informed and hearing their opinions on the matter. So these are just a few ideas and tactics DarkerOne uses to keep everyone happy and faction growing. We are almost always full. We have one spot open atm no need to us wc to recruit. Plus you get to know the person before you just invite them b:pleased

    Perfect example of what our mods constitutes as flame baiting or not and other players clearly are being "baited". I pm'd a mod about the exact post by Jekel that said the exact same thing and she called it not flame baiting.

    Another reason why I don't bother coming here as often~

    No no, not about oyur post SeaAnna :) It was just a past experience I've had with mods about a particular ORIGINAL post like this one.

    I find factions to vary wildly; they are most dependent on their Leader. Twice as a symbol of a faction leader I had left the faction (Two different factions), each time I was surprised to find out a lot of people left after I was gone. I didn't know people had actually stayed for me...

    Other times as a regular or Low-Ranking Officer, I've seen factions drastically change when leadership had changed. Even when their intention was only to tweak a few things, they end up getting the worst end of members. In the instance I am recalling, it was two particular members who had managed to rile up a posse of followers.

    For the most part I've never witnessed any wicked or blasphemous leadership or scandalous behavior. Instead my experience was that all the faction Leaders based their faction off what they desired -- will the faction be successful? As in, lots of active members and people who stick around for months at a time? It depends on any drama and how the drama is dealt with. It also depends on how active the Leadership is; when they disappear, so do the members.

    If they can't see that this thread is a (fail) attempt to troll/flame then I'm really questionning their judgement.

    If it is an attempt to troll I would say he was successful and not a fail. It bothered people enough to take time to post about the OP. You yourself are accusing him of copying jekel. It bothered you enough to take the time to just post. No matter how much it bothered, annoyed, or frustrated you, that is part of trolling, taking the time to respond to what he said/did, he got your attention. Just sayin'.

    Its not fully dependant on the Troller, but more the Trollee. Some people spazz out more then others.

    Yes our faction is on Arch server what they call the fail server but looks like most of pwi is fail atm thanks to arc. As long as people can log and with good officer a faction will stay strong and together!
