Disappearence Of Characters?!

Hello everyone!

I (_Mr_Tanky_) recently came back to the Sanctuary Server, after a long break of 6-8 months. Upon logging into the game client 4 days ago, I became aware that none of my characters remained on my account. So, as a normal person would do - I submitted a ticket to the Support Staff, and they replied. They informed my that my account was deleted in March 2011, however I knew I was playing then and I can give evidence of that too. Another weird happening, is that whenever I go to create a character with the name of _Mr_Tanky_ it says "Invalid Name". Have the rules of names been changed, and they are not allowed to start with an underscore, or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the Support Staff are getting no-where with the case, and can't seem to read simple English. Plus, my first ticket has been deleted and upon ticketing a second - it was marked as a 'Duplicate', which it is not!

    Well you're posting with your toon here on the forum, so it's sitting in the database somewhere.

    I wasn't aware that they ever deleted accounts on PWI. I mean, I know they have an inactivity clause, but I've never ever seen evidence that they have ever actually done it. (And I know I've had a couple of storage accounts sitting inactive for well over a year.)

    In fact, we see posts all the time about people coming back after a couple of years or so of inactivity.

    Make certain that you are logging in to the correct server. I'd also open another ticket. Your success at a proper response from the support team depends entirely on how knowledgeable that college intern on the other end is. They only have about 25 of them and they acre currently supporting the entire player base for something like 16 different games.

    Might try poking one of the GM's or CM's here on the forum.

    I still don't understand how to recover old characters i also lost a few ones i made about a year ago and now i don't have them. When i edit my account is shows one of my old characters under my picture left side of the screen which i don't have anymore in-game. Please help.
    It is either that or i am just logged in with a different account because i sign in here and when i use the same forums username to login for the in-game it says invalid. Was there an option to have a forums name and in-game username?

    Okay i did something weird to make my characters re appear with the same account but now i lost my other character, either way it does not matter i wanted my old ones back. :)

    Just gonna bump this to see if I get any answers. Nice to see that GMs take 48 hours+ to respond to their PMs, and also nice to see that the Support Staff haven't responded to my ticket in 64 hours+. I'm starting to think that PWI deleted my characters due to it beginning in an underscore, and that no longer being allowed. Wouldn't surprise me either.

    GM's get flooded with PM's I'm sure.

    Also, the response window for a support ticket is 3-5 business days under normal conditions. Currently I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to 5-7 business days because of the recent server issues with Morai and the East Coast.

    Business days constitutes 9am-5pm GMT -8 Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays.

    Just an update on the occurring's and also my ticket. Nothing has happened, and even my dead grandmother could help more than they are. For example, the responses I am getting:

    'In regards to that ticket that has been responded last 2/11/2014, the character _Mr_Tanky_ was deleted on 5th of March 2011. Unfortunately, we cannot recover deleted characters if they were deleted for that long. We are very sorry for the inconvenience that it has caused you.'

    I sent them the link to my CORE account which stated that: "_Mr_Tanky_ is now a member of Mataram, July 22, 2013 at 4:27am".

    You know that CORE Connect is a complete failure when they ask this...

    'Can you please provide us a screen shot of that character on the said date?'.

    At this point, I felt that my response was going nowhere. And I asked for my ticket to be sent to someone that actually had a brain-cell, and the responses from then weren't actually in correct English:

    'Because base on the ticket# 140209-000501 , the character has been deleted last 5th of March 2011.'

    Wow, that Grammar.

    Anyways, since then my Ticket has been marked as Solved and now whenever I respond to it shows my ticket as being 'Updated' and then 'Solved' after I refresh the page.

    I kind of wish I had actually paid some money into the game earlier, to actually be taken seriously now. -.-
