PvP genie discussion / questions

Hi all,
for some reason it won't let me post this on my sin, but that doesn't matter too much.
I am currently playing a sage sin which i'm gearing out bit by bit and i successfully created a 82/100 LP genie for my pvp needs. Now i read through the guide and have a general idea of how to set it up, but i would like to hear/see specific genies from ( preferably ) sage sins so that i can get an even better idea on how to set mine up.
Mine is a str genie, and i do think i will prefer a pure offensive genie.
My main skill will be:
Occult ice
Extreme poison
Tangling mire
AD
These will be the skills i'm getting regardless i think, so i'm looking at more skills that complement these on a sage sin. I'm currently in the process of farming and making a combined R8rr armour with r9rr daggers, and will stick to them ( i'm not going full r9rr ).
I will have the option to switch out a few pieces of gear to go full DPH and attack levels, or to stay with the r8r int gear and be 3.33 aps base.
So what skills should i really look into that would complement both sides ( aps and dph ) in pvp.

kokki there are a multitude of choices, but if you're trying your luck with int r8r(be prepared for high costs btw, not even blood stones cant help u lower them down, only high luck on rolling dices) 1st thing on that genie should be wind shield for the sage aps, besides that frenzy is a nice addition for a pure offensive genie.0

Be prepared to died in a few shots in PvP, because even full R9RR pure offensive build with full Deity dies pretty fast, aps build will die times faster.Been more than a year since I quit playing, but still on rankings.

So noone actually has anything to say about genie setup?
i think i will add frenzy at least, not sold on the windshield yet because i think 3.33 base aps will be just fine and i don't need 4 aps in PvP ****.
I have a PVE genie, so in that regard i'm specifically looking for PvP genie skills.
I'm thinking about adding something like lightning chaser for an interrupt when i see a big spell coming up.
Defensively AD will be enough0 -

AD, Expel, Mire, EP, ToP, fortify, whirlwind
Neither aps nor dph sins need occult to lock. Use your genie to save yourself instead. Will surge will be necessary to kill decently refined psys only if you'aps.Channels

If you are set with going offensive str genie then why ask foor advice?
On an aps sin, in my experiance, 100 dex genies and vit magic genies are the way to go.
On a 100 dex genie, ep and windshield are op for offensive spamming and boc with sts is really nice for those "oh **** thats a rrr9+12 deity 10 second sos psy that I just stunned myself on" moments.q.q is a term from the old star craft days.
pressing the button q brought up the player menu and pressing it again quit the game. Some mong didnt know what it meant and thought it was a pair of crying eyes leading to the "qq" term we have today. GG.

For a long time I played my sage sin with a str genie and received countless criticism. I got lucky and made an 87 genie and figured, wth, I'll try a vit mag genie. I will NEVER go back. They were absolutely right. My genie almost never runs out.
I'm using 105 Zeal - 101 Mag/85 Vit armed with the following
Soul of Fire Lvl 10 - For wizzies and Lunar TM
Heart of Steel Lvl 10 - For the scary OP EPs and to waste seekers' time
Extreme Poison Lvl 10 - Mini subsea - great in PVE with Power Dash and windshield after 3 spark
Holy Path Lvl 10 - 3 Holy paths in a row
Absolute Domain Lvl 10 - Eeeps
Windshield Lvl 1 - 16% more damage/chi in APS (2.86 base), and a tiny def boost for PVP
Faith Lvl 10 - For those gotcha moments.
I trade out Heart of Steel whenever I feel like playing around with other skills. I suppose I could do the same with Soul of Fire. Of course you'd need a 105 genie for both AD and Faith. Though if you're planning to go purely APS I wouldn't bother with Faith. You won't live long enough to really benefit from it outside of PVE, and even then it's overkill.
As mentioned Occult Ice is kinda redundant on a sin and for the most part a waste of genie energy. Get used to using sleep and tackling slash/throatcut combo.
Frenzy is overrated considering the high amount of attack levels we already have. With my APS set I already have 95 attack levels so another 20 would be only like 10% more damage.
Which brings us to windshield, extreme poison and frenzy. Going from 3.33 to 4.0 is a 20% boost in both damage and chi generation. It costs only 35 energy (at level 1) vs 75 for frenzy. It last 8 seconds, which is the same as frenzy. And instead of crippling your def it actually boosts it a little and gives a bit extra(albeit almost useless) evasion. Similar arguments can be made for Extreme Poison; 20% vs just 10% from frenzy, only 50 energy, and no crippling side effect. Extreme Poison only lasts 6 seconds. Extreme poison x2, however, fits perfectly in a 3 spark and is very possible with a mag/vit genie on top of windshield.
Oh and I've never understood expel on a sin. I mean, we live and die by our skills and by doing damage, which expel prevents. I can't think of any situation where AD wouldn't do the job just as well, if not significantly better.0 -

This was really interesting to read, on why you took certain skills but i don't have a 105 genie so certain combo's are not really viable for me. your post did make me go windshield regardless because the increase in chi gain is something i didn't consider.
@gingerpubes i have considered a dex genie, i personally just don't like the way they play out, i have played with a dex genie for a while and i just really don't like it.
@walpurga i actually think i end up doing about 50/50 offensive/defensive because there are so little good offensive skills. I think i will end up dropping EP since 1 amp ( EP/TM ) is plenty and adding that extra skill for defensive measures is more worth it. i personally dislike TOP since it's so sensitive in when you need to use it, half a second too late and you end up dead anyway because of how late it kicks in. I do like the will surge option tho, immune to seal makes me deal with psy's at least
Well now this is what i was looking for, different angles of genies with different play styles, maybe we can continue this discussion so that other people who have genie questions can come here to discuss them0 -

AD does do the job, however the 3 minute cooldown is nasty. Expel has an instant cooldown, plus you still have AD for when it's needed. Besides, have you ever used expel when another sin has you sealed with throatcut? That's 8 seconds immunity to damage while not being sealed. Most sins won't even realise what happened.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Toraah full nab speaks full sense.
As for dex genies, they ARE weird. Lots of people cant get their heads around them but once you get use to them they are really good. However, they are more of a defense and assist genie than an offensive one.q.q is a term from the old star craft days.
