Should Harshlands be kept a PVE server?

well technically you should be groveling and thanking those mobs cause they supply you with the drops to gear yourself, especially on a pvp server. Sometimes the intelligent mobs are gracious enough to spare you an extra mat or two b:laugh on your knees now.

I think HL and LC has a larger population of Asian and Latino players for that reason. Normally I would point out that this is just the sort of jagoff mindset I would expect from someone on a PvP server, but honestly that's unfair to the majority of the people on PvP servers.

You're just a jerk, and an anti-American jerk to boot.

It's apparently insufficient for you to have your fun on your PvP server with people who are like minded - you must also denigrate *everyone else* who hasn't chosen to do so, even though they have no way to ever affect you whatsoever.

Congrats!

Not only will your little display of your private parts assure that your server will *not* be turned PvE (as if that was ever going to happen but for a programming accident) but you have assured that your server will never attract any *new* players. You won't have to worry about "newbies" or "carebears" because the rest of us will refer to this message whenever someone asks "What server should I join?".

Even if most people end up quitting on a pvp server, there would still be more people to pk than on a pve server, so what's your point?

Last time I checked, HT only had around 750 people in NW while HL had a little under 700, so it's not like your server is thriving either. I'm thinking people quit PVE servers out of pure boredom with fighting basic AI mobs all day.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a non-public poll, atm the yeas have it and once some bored person with 20 alts comes by again, the nays may well take over again. b:surrender I did visit HL recently as I have a little veno there, and there were much less people than HL. NW attendance may not be much better but a lot of people on PVE servers dislike PVP. Actually I think if HL was healthy as it should be it's attendance should be higher since one would think that people on PVP servers mostly enjoy PVP. That said there are a lot of distinct advantages to pvp servers, and one big one is being able to kill the bots. I would not be surprised if a year from now, economy wise, HL and LC are doing better than the pve servers. I also think it's a bit ridiculous if would ever get changed into a pve server (barring a merge) as people roll pvp servers for a reason and there are so many pve servers to choose from that there really no excuse at all for not rolling one if you really hate pvp and want to just quest without the possibility of getting killed.

I voted yes just to 'troll'... I really don't care one way or another if it gets changed to a pve server, and left as that... or if it stays as a PVP server.

Now if it really affected me I am sure I would have a different opinion on that.

The truth of it though is that most knew what they were getting into when they chose to play on a 'pvp' server. Anyone who has ever played a MMORPG... should have known that 'pvp' stood for player vs player, and if they didn't want that their pick on which server they play should have reflected that. (It did for me) Though it is rather sad that the best instance to 'farm' for the true end game stuff is so pvp orientated, (I do indeed speak of nw) but meh it is what it is.

Seriously though... such assumptions are quite asinine imho, not all americans are as you described. albeit there are a few cases (myself included) that do fit your 'mold' but meh that still doesnt change that not all american's are like that.

No, that is why there are already PvE servers. This should not even be a poll honestly. Each of the "coasts" have 1 PvP server and all other servers are PvE. There is no reason to take either of the only 2 PvP servers away as PvP servers. And everyone should realize that, whether or not they like PvP.

most memorable moment for me was a Kylin threatening to call his lawyers over pk. he felt that charm ticks were a violation of TOS because it cost him real money. this was like 2-3 months into the server.

also memorable was people getting banned for pk ing someone more than 3 times. not a joke either! people really were banned for pk ing on a pk server.

if you dont want PK then pick a pve server to start with. ofc it is unfair when a r9 3rd +12 JOSD comes by and 1 shots you. but guess what? life is unfair so get used to it. at least on PWI you have a choice to go PVE.

i vote than anyone QQing about pvp on a pvp server be immediately perma banned.

Poll numbers shouldn't really be skewed, as there are probably as many people voting "no" with troll accounts as there are people voting yes (you don't think I have plenty of acc's that can vote no?).

The poll results basically prove that the North American population leans extremely heavily towards pve, and most probably didn't even know what the acronym pvp stood for, which is why they rolled there.

Keep in mind a lot of people who download PWI are usually not seasoned MMO veterans, just people who wanted to play a random free game that looked interesting. Some are also children who might even be playing their first MMO, so they wouldn't know the terminology.

There are plenty of Americans collecting unemployment and welfare checks while having unlimited talk and text plans and driving SUV's.

Ofc there are people also struggling, but every country is going to have that.

PvP games have largely flopped in the US, I'm not gonna be PC and say "Americans LOVES RPK" when it isn't true. They may like controlled, fair, theme-park PK, but that's different from RPK.

Also, get your facts straight before you post. Subscription games are by and large less successful and profitable than Freemium games. Americans vote with their money, and game companies listen (How many Americans are fine with a $30 game subscription?)

Well, I guess those people are the one's we watch having their SUV's repo'ed on Lizard Lick Towing and several other repossession-reality shows. Maybe the only reality show you have heard of is Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but their are a lot more revolving around Repossession and Pawn Shops. The only one you will see where a natural born American family realises the American Dream on their own merit is Duck Dynasty. Who knew a duck call could do that for someone? Well, they did, lol. b:laugh

Run! Escape! was played by Americans paying to a Brit for many years. Originally $5 per month, and increasing to I think $6.99 or something there after. I stopped playing when they hit $5.99. In their progression, of course, they are now basing stats on gears, and putting the best gears in their cash shop. Seems several years behind-the-times from my perspective, but whatever. *shrugs* At its height you could easily catch about 500K players online at one time, fast forward a few years and walaa - you are lucky to catch half that number, and might even feel lucky to catch 75K online at once.

They dont advertise their game anywhere, except free social media. They do now advertise 'TransShapeshifter's Uni' and others on their website. I hope switching the game completely to pay2win works out for them, before more people are tempted to Run! Escape!

That WowZer of a game I played for $16.99 a month for years. I hear they have a cash shop now too. I left just before Cataclysm came out - didnt like the changes they were bragging were coming. The thing that game has over this one - its Battlegrounds. Several different types. Open to anyone at any time, no guild or team required. Ingame factions fight each other, and the players are assigned according to the ingame league they joined - Alliance or Horde. These two leagues cannot communicate with each other, except on Vent.

They used to advertise on cable TV, and held famous people like Robin Williams and Mr. T among their player base. Mr. T even did some of their commercials.

I personally see the time of the MMO coming to an end. They all seem to be sacrificing their loyal player bases in search of the PW MMO Dream, I guess.

From my perspective, this game has nothing but its CSers keeping it going. Those players seem to be good with it just like it is, and obviously keep playing. Sure, you see them whine about everything they can possibly find to whine about, but obviously they love it just like it is.

Yes it would be best to turn pve servers into pvp. Pk isn't even that hard I choose to stay in pk 24/7 on my server to encourage pk. My veno is demon, full G16+1-3(g16 pataka with no refines), pure magic, 5k hp, 2, 700 p.def and 12,000 mag. Def, 91 atk lvls, 15sec lvl, missing a necklace, and I have an evolved nix lvl 100. So the point of revealing my gear and the fact that I never go blue name was to reveal that pk doesn't make the game impossible. I don't even use my lock or gs and I'm pretty much always fine. My veno is considered low geared and yet I still stay in pk mode. I get a few sins that sneak up on me every once in a while, but most others are quite manageable.

Also this game was really advertised off to be a pvp game. It was even named 1 of the top 10 pvp games for a few years and most people knew this fact so they knew what to expect. A change of all servers into pvp shouldn't be to much of a surprise. People complain about every cave being to easy right? Well duhh a lot of people passed the gear that was required to beat each cave. A full r999 group will destroy caves and do yall know why that is? It's because that gear was meant for pvp not to be used solely for pve only players. PvE only players are for the most part, ones that find some weird joy out of killing unintelligent mobs. Once a PvE only player gets r999 they just find every pve thing to easy because they are in pvp gear which is designed for higher grade fighting of other intelligent players who can actually counter things not the low grade killing of mobs so predictable and simple. So really to all of you PvE only players please stop buying max gear and then calling game to easy. Get some Morai gear which is actually specifically pve. Why do yall think they made pve specific gear and made most of the Morai skills pvp oriented?

That would probably work if everyone sat in safe zones and Frost up to lvl 100 and then cashshopped their g16. But it's rather hard to learn your class while sitting afk in Snowy Village.

That's what the majority of the server has been doing for a couple of years now.
