A story about PK vs Infa

The past few days I've gotten a lot of confusing PM's from various infa members (and apparently random alts) that left me scratching my head. One thing they all had in common though, was some claim that I was a "scumbag" for trying to gank a certain archer. I decided to talk to all parties involved in said incident to gather a clear story on what happened, and why some infa members were so furious with me.

With that said, I've been able to form a clear picture of exactly what happened after gathering input from multiple people, and it made me LOL irl. Despite this, I decided it was at least worth telling the story of what happened on that fateful night on 7th of February, 2014, since I've gotten some PM's and WC about it. Plus, it makes for some hella good potential forum drama, which I'm proud to be a part of b:cool

So this is what really happened, as far as I can tell:

1. On a friday night, Manii writes that he is out to finish dailies before reset, and proceeds to do so.

2. Curses spots this on faction chat, and goes to pk Manii.

3. Curses finds Manii at Prison Key. He tells his gang "not to interfere, it's a 1v1 unless Manii calls in more people", then proceeds to drop and fight a self-buffed +10 wizard, by first eating a Spirit of defense (cause obv, if you don't have full buffs you might die, can't have that).

4. At this point, Manii is aware that there's a cleric and archer attacking him, as well as spotting another infa archer, and thinks he is being ganked.

Manii is now faced with a very stacked situation against a +12 archer with full defense buffs against his self-buffs. At no point is he actually told this is a 1v1, so he calls in GC for help in a PK gank.

5. Me, being a fan of world pvp and almost always up for any sort of pvp, decides to join Manii and help him. At this point, I think it's a legit world pvp with Infa and I'm excited that there's actually some pvp going on. I teleport to primal and head to his location. I see Curses and a cleric hiding a bit out of ways. I drop and start helping Manii.

6. Curses calls his squad in, and I get hit by both Curses and Aware, which catches me by surprise, as I did not think to use mystical eye, and assumed it was Curses + his cleric. The first hit purges and I die quickly without a chance for AD to take effect. Cleric heals Curses and they proceed to gank Manii.

7. Me and Manii rez up in town, and call for 2-3 more people to assist for, as far as we're still aware, a small squad world pvp. I head out quickly to scout their position, but discover that Curses already left.

8. At this point, Curses apparently starts telling some people that he asked Manii for a 1v1, and that he agreed to fight him, but then Manii made a "scumbag" move and asked for Dark members to come gank Curses while he was in a "1v1". He then says he turned the gank around by counter-ganking me and Manii.

9. At this point, I'm sort of baffled at the PM's, because I'm still thinking this was just some random, casual world PVP. I did not know at this time that Curses was going around telling people lies. To be honest, I was more upset at the fact that Infa quickly dissappeared instead of staying to fight with us a little, since by that time I had forgotten about the pk at jails and was camping sky owl.

10. A few days later, Curses then attempts to PM me after TW to gloat about his TW win (which I admit, I kinda deserved since I was taking random jabs at infa in WC), and claims Manii hung me out to dry by agreeing to a 1v1 then calling in Dark and going back on his word. At that point I have no idea wtf he's talking about or why he claims I should hate Manii, but remember what happened at prison keys and start to understand what Curses tried to do. (I basically knew Curses was trying to get me to quit Dark by spinning the situation)

I explain to him that a 1v1 should be self buffs only, and private. He says that his justification for fighting Manii with full buffs is that he had a spirit of defense + assault with him, and that it was Manii's fault that he didn't have a buff pill. He also says that Manii is capable of one-shotting him, so full buffs are needed for the fight to be "fair". At this point I stop talking to him and go back to messing around in WC, but he continues to pm me.

11. I talk to Manii, Akira_Green, Quik, and some other members, either directly or through my alt, to see if they can corroborate the facts/details. They basically confirm parts of different stories, depending on which side I talked to. At this point I figure out pretty much exactly what happened, and what Curses tried to do.

So that's basically what happened. At no point did me and Manii try to "set up" Curses for a 1v1 then try to gank him. If that's what he told infa members, well, tough nuts, but he lied to you.

Sorry Curses, but if you feel you need to buff yourself with max defenses against a wiz that isn't even endgame sharded and unbuffed, then call the fight a fair 1v1, I don't know what to say. You have pretty much some of the best gears on the server, besides Chaosbeibei (who was not even there). You basically set yourself up in a situation where you had very little risk of losing the 1v1, and was salivating at the chance to get a "1v1" kill and boast about it. If you start losing? NP, you got a cleric there to emergency heal you, and archers to help you get the kill.

I understand why Curses did what he did - he's fairly sarcastic and tends to have a veiled style of talk and boasting, but it did leave a sort of icky feeling in my mouth about him as a person. Doesn't it give you a sort of icky feeling in your mouth too? I wouldn't know, and don't really care to know. That's really pretty much all I have to say about the situation.



...Scratch that, I do have one more thing to say. I really hope this thread blows up into a multi-page discussion. Sorry, but that's just how I like things b:laugh.
