R8 Recast for Barb

For someone not getting R9 for a very long time, is getting R8 recast weapon worth it compared to G16 (for tanking)

    Those are 2 different categories of weapon.

    1. R8r with def lvl is a defensive weapon. Used primarily for pvp tanking.

    2. G16 Nirvana is offensive weapon, to deal more damage and hold more agro. R9 & R9s3 is an upgrade to G16.

    For pvp, good practice is to have both one defensive weapon and one offensive weapon; and switch them around whenever the situation calls for it.

    For pve, you are a barb, you already have more than enough hp and defences to tank any pve instance in the game. No need to get more def lvl. G16 nirvana is the way to go to hold more agro.

    There are 2 good bonus for R8 recast:

    - Def Level: very good for pulling cata in TW, flags in NW or pull full path of Lunar or Warsong.
    - Purge: usefull for pvp in tandem with Clean Sweep

    For PVE and PVP (except some situations) G16 is better.
    Many Barbarians use both weapons.

    PS: an alternative to G16, you can farm Warsoul doing Nation War.

    Yeah rank 8 recast wep is the best defensive weapon a barbarian can get, if your stats are lacking, or you neeed to pull a cata or tank hard hitting bosses. Even if you get rank 9 recast you can surely still use your rank 8 recast weapon.
