They should explain the reasons, who knows more country could be banned in the future and wastes a lot of people 's time and money spent.

Mostly, local server prohibits international players, but I don't think international server would do that, like international server published by cubizone in Malaysia back in the day, they did not ban international players and confirmed that they wouldn't ban international players even if later they have their own local pw server

I'm sure there's a lot of people who do play this way. I'm just speculating, but it is possible to do, without getting caught. With the way communist countries are, there's a lot of people there that know how to do these things, just to get around blocks imposed by government. Look at China, people there use proxies on a daily basis.

More countries have already been blocked access. Most countries blocked from PWI, have their own nationalised version. So these countries are Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia and Korea just to name a few. I'm not sure if China can access our version but I know that we can't access theres with a citizenship number (I think that's going a little far but hey, it's China). Japan is only not allowed access to our version of Rusty Hearts, don't know why it's only RH but eh.

Keep in mind that PWE has to obey whatever their licensing agreement states. If Wanmei (PW Beijing [Mother company]) states that those countries can't access other versions of the game, then PWE has to comply. Egypt has blocked due to malicious attacks against the system and players. Others were blocked because they have their own game. It all comes down to licensing, laws, etc. Nothing anyone can do about it.

In terms of Asia, we are the International population. The English speaking nations are known as the "Internationals." Don't ask my why, it's just how the major asian nations group things. We are Perfect World International because we are the English version of the game. We have the higher diversity of countries using this version, because English is the world's dominant language. However, when other official language versions started being released, the licensing conditions changed. We can't access most of the other PW games, and they can't access ours. Unfair that Japan can play our PW, but we can't play theirs .

Wouldn't you suffer high ping if playing an online game using proxy ?

Dunno how fast response time in most countries to other countries these days, but it's not comfortable playing with high ping for sure, above 500ms I think it's already noticeable and doing anything is a bit delayed.

Being in Australia, my ping is never lower than 230ms to Lost City. It can get as high as 350 and then it goes from smooth to ok (green to yellow). I opened PWI once using a proxy changer (I was watching Logo TV at the time so had to have a US IP). I got DC'd about 3 hours in and was met with an automatic proxy ban trying to log in. So I'm not sure the whole proxy thing is going to work well for others.

And with China, I know that used to be the case, but I've been reading that they require your CN citizenship number now for registration or something. So that's gonna be hard to fake xD

That's mainly due to how strong of an internet connection we have on our side, and how far away we are from the servers on the company's side. Most US residents get a ping of like 20and I'm like "it's not fair QQ"

The part I never got my head around is why no one in South Korea referred to China, North K, or Japan as foreigners even though there are different languages there. I guess it's more of a cultural thing in Asia as to who is a foreigner and who isn't.

I do find it a little unfair that whole Egypt region is IP blocked I lost some good friends because of it.
Shame some have to hid using proxy's to log on too. Or find another game to play, and small loss of money too.
