How to break/prevent a cleric from casting sog
i am a rrr9 mystic from archo server.. and im just wondering. how do i stop, break or prevent a cleric from casting sog/seal of the gods on me. it's a good skill in all honesty but it gets freaking annoying from time to time.. example: cleric does sog and combo if it doesnt kill you they kite/hollass and come back 5 seconds later and do the same sog again.. the skill got a very small cooldown for the time it keeps you silenced which i think it's not really fair... so my question is how do i not get trap in sog any genie skills or something i can use??

Pretty much o.o or unless you have a good ping or w/e and manage to stun/seal them in time.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

Seal of God costs 1 spark, last 15 seconds, and has a 30 second cooldown. It is certainly not spammable. It also gives you 90% damage reduction so the cleric won't be killing you while you're trapped in it.
[REMOVED]Apparently I was mistaken.
Clerics are definitely annoying though. I put anti-sleep skill on my genie because they usually open with Chromatic Seal.0 -

Didn't know lawbreaker did that, and tbh to get a decent % rate of success you'd have to go pure str genie, and not many mystics will be running around with that.
To the OP, the best way to avoid repetitive SoGs is chi drain. If you're sage I guess thats a problem.
I would advise not trying to avoid the SoG but avoid the sleep after that, adrenaline surge (genie skill) lasts 7 seconds at lvl 10, so if you can time it so you use this about 12 seconds after you get SoG you will have enough time to full heal yourself after SoG ends.
Having equal or close to equal soulforce is important in 1v1s as this determines how much healing debuff they can apply on you before they start to actually go for the kill. The healing debuffs are applied and mark of weakness is used to steadily bring your hp down and keep your charm from ticking. Healing immediately as you can to remove this is very important.
So then it comes down to a (Cleric) chi/(Mystics) genie skill cd battle, and if managed correctly/equally geared this should come down to who ever dc's/needs to afk 1st. b:shockedDarkSkiesx - Demon Archer

nothing can break SoG, can't breal seal neither the freezeBahamas represent0 -
SoG has a less than 2 sec cast, depending on the cleric's channeling. So interrupting it with skills is nearly impossible. What's left is genie (will surge, faith, ad) or apothecary (ig, sutra, pan gu's). Even so, more likely you're gonna have to anticipate the cleric using it and not wait for them to start casting it.
But it depends on the situation you're in. Clerics SoG you to either remove you from the bigger fight and focus on other things or in preparation to kill you in which case I wouldn't bother too much with SoG but more with the sleep that's surely about to follow.
Also keep in mind all their heal debuffs can go poof with 1 max 2 BiTC.Youtube channel: youtube.com/user/FDB190 -
If you have a faith genie, then they really can't CC you outside of a 15s SOG, during which they can't even kill you. Honestly clerics are extremely strong in 1v1 right now, but mystics are probably one of their tougher matchups.
If you get caught without the right genie though, you're pretty much screwed (though at the very least, you're not likely to die, so in the end you're both basically just wasting time).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

SOG is very annoying whenever ur caught with it especially since dots or skills like mark of weakness ignore it's dmg reduction. As veno I can drain pretty much all sparks in a relatively short amount of time. We are talking about mystics though so as said before ad, faith, will surge and stuff like that are options, but is waste of genie/ pots. Best choice in my opinion is definitely to always use storm mistress(only the skills because if it's r999 cleric u want to avoid ticking puri as much as possible) or absorb summons for the antistun and extra dmg. With antistun at least u will be able to move around and mess up their lock sets. Chihuahua is really waste because he'd tick charm way to much. Angel would definitely be option because it can cast skills while your sealed if ur sealed which could be used to protect u from the hit the cleric is probably preparing. Same also goes for storm mistress again u might be able to mess up their lock by timing mistress seal right while your locked in SOG. These are what I'd do, but your choice^^.Love lost is room gained

A good cleric would make sure to kill your pet fast tbh. And idk what much good a 3sec seal vs a 15 one would do.Youtube channel: youtube.com/user/FDB190

Mystic pets aren't used as tanks they are spammable. And I said timing because good clerics try and get as close to the full time of SoG as they can get so if you seal them before they can use sleep within the last couple of seconds of SoG then u have a chance to stop their lock. If they try to 1 hit pet then just use the seal to stop them. It's all about slowing them down because that can completely throw off their timing which is a focus when locking.Love lost is room gained

Ways to prevent it and still be useful in some ways, starting from best to worst:
Faith/Belief - You have to cast this BEFORE the cleric casts SoG on you. This will make you immune to both the seal and immobilize that SoG gives, and the cast of Faith is more instant than AD.
Absolute Domain - This is more preferred for Mystics as they can build a genie better tailored to their needs, but again, this needs to be cast before SoG is cast on you. The immunity AD gives makes you immune to SoG as well, but be warned: the immunity effect isn't instant.
Immunity items, such as Sutra, Ironguard, Pan Gu's Essence - Same effect as AD
Will Surge - Cast this BEFORE SoG is cast on you and the seal will not affect you. The immobilize will remain, so you will be unable to move/purify that until SoG ends, but you can still cast skills at least.
Anti-stun effect - Whether this is from an apoth item or from a skill, this will give you immunity to the immobilize portion of SoG if you have the anti-stun buff before SoG is cast, but the seal will remain. This will allow you to kite away while waiting for SoG to end.[SIGPIC]Octavia is best pony![/SIGPIC]

Nobody said anything about them being tanks and they aren't spammable while you're SoGed which is what this discussion is about. You can only have the 1 pet if you had any out before you were SoGed. And no cleric would be half-assed enough to be able to lock you but not be smart enough to oneshot the obvious threat in front of him.Youtube channel: youtube.com/user/FDB190 -
The problem about that skill is that the casting is really fast and you have to see it coming. When I do see it coming, or I know that's what the cleric is going to do next I will either use an immunity potion or AD (which will buy me time to seal him instead) or I leech whatever pet I have out to avoid the freeze, and I kite until the seal goes away. Very annoying skill though. We are not now that strength which in old days

Chihyu on defensive, skull slap on automatic. You seal me? I stun you. Retaliation is automatic if your pet is on defensive and the stun will interrupt whatever the cleric is trying to cast next.
Listless Blossom is also an option. (Sleepy cleric can't follow up attacks, and the Blossom keeps spamming it's sleep)
Gale Force and Thicket have a chance to seal as well, but requires you to take initiative. A seal doesn't interrupt a casting if I'm not misstaken, so a long channel spell shouldn't be an issue.I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.
