Whats happening to meee

Hey guys I haven't played for awhile...

This might be a simple question but I'm curious... sometimes when I attack something I get this purple swirly effect around me. Doesn't seem to give me a buff or anything so, whats it all about?

    you sure? It doesn't happen every time, only once every few minutes.

    I used to think it was to indicate that you had aggro, but recently it has happened to me several times when I clearly didn't have aggro - in BHs where someone had the mob mostly dead and I just got in one hit, for example. So now I have no idea what it is for.

    it's what some others said, it indicates combat mode and appears when you enter it, if you dont leave combat mode before attacking your next target it wont reappear til u exit then reenter combat mode.

    Yup. Only sees its on my RB toons, regular ones doesn't have it.

    It appears to be a pink ribbon. Are we sure it's not PWI helping bring awareness to Breast Cancer??!
