    Nope, it's part of the new tutorial quests when you create a new character. They got rid of a bunch of the 1-19 quests and replaced it with that. A new person probably wouldn't know the difference as it is part of that new introductory/tutorial chain and you cannot do the rest of the quests in the chain unless you do that one AFAIK. But veterans and such can just skip it with no consequences other than not getting to finish the chain and having to grind out some exp or power level.

    It would have to be a new male toon. The location is in the Place of Origination (new newbie zone, which you can't get back to after leaving) and is on the southern bridge near the Sanctuary look-alike city.

    ...Well, I wonder what went into the heads of the devs to create such a quest, they must enjoy in-game roleplaying after all.

    That said, I cannot understand one that takes it so seriously when it comes to interacting with other people that way... it's not a +18 game so why make it a fuss (btw, some acting like if it was better get a bit more mature or move to one of such), or then, if you really mean it, ask your wife to embrace you and whatnot.

    I guess you shouldn't even talk to female chars if you are that much into *ahem* in-game IMPOSED self-principles. Ask your wife again to lurk in a corner and whack you with a frying pan if you forget about it.
    And yes, there are some in game (the frying pans that is). Just pay a visit to the angry cook wraiths living around Sundown Town.

    BTW - If you ever make it to reincarnated lvl 100 you will be horrified to find that there's an instance that requires the same, and it is the most rewarding instance in the game. b:laugh

    you all need to leave the OP alone.. the game is supposed to be about options, and what you want out of the game..

    the fact that they have a STARTER quest that SEEMS TO IMPLY that the embracing/kissing is part of the fundamentals, and is required in order to complete the starter quest chain is wrong.

    they can certainly show game mechanics other ways.

    you all need to stop trolling and start respecting each other... bunch of kids playing this game (and i don't care what your age is, act it please).

    The new starter area is for teaching new players about the games mechanics.
    One of which is EMBRACING TO GAIN CHI.
    I know of players that have been around for YEARS that did not know that.

    It requires you to kiss as well, which doesn't generate chi. In addition, the quest comes earlier than your ability to gain chi. It's just a silly quest meant to show people the emote panel exists. It doesn't teach anyone anything beyond that, and later in the quest chain it teaches the exact same thing by making you dance for some fish while a creepy fisherman watches you. Not even kidding, went and did these myself. Your character literal sobs at the end of the dance and the entire time talks about how uncomfortable they are dancing for this fisherman. Makes you go and get an outfit for it and everything. It's a bit bizarre but also kind funny. I'm currently in the process of getting massive amounts of aquametals as well to see what you can take outside of the primal world and what you cannot.

    I fail to see how real world morality should apply to an NPC. When you ask someone to kiss you, you're interacting with another human being. Their characters may be pixels but the person you are talking to isn't. The mob kill quests are just interacting with bits of code. And as such isn't entitled to any form of courtesy or needing any type of discussion. Totally different things.

    I have no problem with the game teaching things beyond the fundamentals, just to show people various interfaces. The emotes are a fun part of the game. They are a small part, but a fun one nonetheless. Anything that helps makes the early game look more interesting, I'm for it. I am also of the same mind as the people who say kissing as part of the quest doesn't mean anything. And I do agree that OP is being a bit sensitive. But I also think that despite this, there really isn't any fundamental reason why the quest SHOULD be required to complete the tutorial chain. It doesn't teach the player anything. And I don't think PW should be doing anything to make any new players feel uncomfortable with playing because we have so very few of them. And it's not like this is something to be taking a large moral stand about when it comes to not caring if they are uncomfortable with it from a company philosophy perspective. IDK I just think it would be better to keep new players happy and playing instead of making them uncomfortable and (argubably) worse, making them stand around bored waiting for someone else to showup. It seems to me like a large part of revamping it was to make it easier to get fun things to preview while at the same time showcasing different mechanics and cash shop items. Like wings, fashion, all class pets, mounts, and emotes.
