What happened to PWI? :(

I just logged back on after like a year / 1.5 years and I can't believe how dead it is.
suddenly I miss all the newbs running around making the game feel more alive.

It saddens me, it seems to me the player base has dropped significantly and there are little to no new players coming in judging from the starter areas.

GUYS AND GIRLS WHAT HAPPENED b:sad

    Thanks to PWE's mismanagement the game now caters to cash cows and the in-game community has been on a steady decline for a couple of years.

    Thanks to the abuse of hyper-leveling, anything below 100 is pretty much dead.

    On top of that, the latest couple of expansions have just added more complexity to an already broken system. Which is pretty much the final straw for a lot of us that have been hanging in there.

    I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this expansion, and will probably just slip off to another MMORPG and my own server.

    Life hit me, ran into a lot of private problems.

    I just wonder as to why there little to no players signing up anymore at least from what I can see.

    I started a new char on a few popular servers just to see where there was a lot of action in the beginning areas, nothing..

    I really REALLY LOVED this game for so long!

    Yeah, ditto. I even fought to try reviving it, but too much of the player base that cared was long gone.

    *PWI mismanagement.

    *PWI neglected to properly address the goon glitch, and other issues.

    *FC hyper leveling killed low-mid game.

    *Dark days of Nirvana: Many people were standing outside in lines waiting to open nirvana, so that the aps classes could run it, because most runs were aps exclusive...and the caster nirvana was a joke.

    *Creation of sins, and greater abundance of aps. Broke the balance in pve.

    *PWE is an older game, so not as marketable as newer ones. (You'd think they'd pay more attention to their playerbase as a result of that...but that don't).

    Since everyone is endgame, lower leveled instances are neglected.

    *Quests don't give as much profit as one might like in a lot of cases, so questing areas are empty.

    Why they don't do some Classic Server with old classes only, no updates etc?(no r8 and no r9). I'm sure lot of players will be played there. I'm so boring to be OP class(seeker), I miss mine old PWI and mine old BM so much ;( PWI was a challenge not so easy like now...

    1.) Because theyd need to get tons of new features removed, what would be a lot of work and time consuming depending on their own backups. Also, the dev team has changed twice what means they would have to work with features of the other team, what is/was causing problems already.

    2.) Because a huge amount of player would move to that server, and if its an oldstyle server there wouldnt be many reasonw to cash - less money for PWE staff. They wont cut themselves like that.

    3.) Because thats what private servers are for :)

    Id love that, but PWE wont do that. Even if Wanmei would make an oldstyle-server, PWE wont do it as well. Theyre way too money-orientated.

    On Heavens Tears I actually do see many new players ... but yes, there could be more...
