Coming back!...maybe

I am downloading the game now. I have been away from PWI for almost a year and a half. Anyone got any suggestions what I should do to get back into the game?

    I actually epected that, now that we have that out of our system...

    While I fully intend on logging in, I am doing so knowing full well that I am far far behind in the times.

    Any suggestions getting my stuff back up to par?

    Find a faction, and friends. Your wallet might come in handy too. b:chuckle

    I've been back about 2 months now after a 8 month break and I have to say I am enjoying being back. There have been some big changes so Sylen is right its best to have a good look at the forums to see what has changed and what is going to be changing in the new year also as big content update is looming.

    A faction has been invaluable in getting me up to speed and learning new instance changes mainly around the weeklys

    Welcome back! It's always nice to see people are returning around, even for a little while. Makes things better.
    I would say just to try your best and find or get back in touch with friends in the game, otherwise it is quite lonely and tiresome to the point you might feel like going away again.
    For everything else, such as information, like everyone else already said; Forums.

    Welcome back! I think I remember you b:pleased and first of all, read up on Nation Wars tutorials, go farm Warsong for Basic Badges, and squad up with old friends and make new ones. If you're stumped, ask for advice on the forums. We still have a lot of players here who are very helpful and more than glad to offer a word or two out of a few years' experience here. If you haven't got R9 yet, farming for it is easier now, as well. We're having some server issues, and a ton of people got +10 orbs they weren't supposed to get, but I think that will eventually balance out.

    Welcome back! Feel free to pm me in game (if you really are on Sanctuary, never know with PWI forums) if you have a question that needs answering right away and if I'm there, I'll respond. I'm afk fairly often though, usually as a cat shop.

    WilliamTell has got it pretty spot on in terms of end game content + Nation Wars. There are also a number of new systems that have come in that you might be interested in, such as:

    - Titles system: You'll see a sword icon in the top right corner. At various places you can challenge a title. Usually requires killing something, clicking something, or arriving at a destination. Check out the quest tips forum for a very good list of what titles are available for challenging.

    - See the little calendar icon in the top right hand corner that's flashing? There's a new check-in system that gives you exp and spirit once a day. More rewards if you don't miss a day for a month and a year. All you do is click the check-in button.

    - Meridian System. Not sure how long you've been away, but basically it's permanent stat gains that you unlock via luck. There is a limit to number of tries per day and you use up an item per attempt. These items can be gotten from certain dailies, including BH100 and Daily Attendance Quest.

    - Matchmaking system: A way to find a match for mentor, wife, or whatever. Not too interested in it, but feel free to play around with it if you want to know more about it. It's the icon next to the flashing calendar icon in the top right corner.

    - New dailies have been introduced, though I haven't done them in a while so I can't remember them off the top of my head.

    Hey, thanks for all your replies guys, sorry it took so long for me to get back to this thread, I got started playing again and didn't stop to look back. I have taken much of your advice thus far. I find I am enjoying the game again and looking forward to the new expansion as well. Hooked back up with an old faction, but friends...they are all gone I think, all of them, that or they all deleted me off their friend list, so I guess it is time to make new friends, or try anyway.

    I left for a bit and changed from PvP to PvE server. While nothing is wrong with PvP server, I think PvE works much better for me.

    I have looked at others gear to try to understand it better, and usually you can ask most of them questions and usually - they are kind enough to respond.

    I really was glad to come back and remake my Venomancer. Extremely glad they evolved them. Veno was my first select when I started PW so long ago but they were called Werefoxes back then.

    Really amazing class, and extremely versatile.
