Keeping 2 sockets worth it on Nirv casting?

Well, finally made my Heaven Shatterer today, and woot, 2 socket! But it costs 42 Chienkuns to transfer that second socket, afaik. At current prices, that's 50mil. Is a two socket Nirv weapon like Regenesis Nirvana worth 50 mil more if it has a second socket? My thoughts? I don't think so. What do you guys think? I'm wanting this T3 to carry me through while I farm for R9, so I plan to sell the T3 later if and when I get R9, so that's another thing to take into consideration. It's made from a lunar bow, so I can sell it later...anyways...ideas?

    Isn't Heaven Shatter lunar wep? If your going for 3rd cast nv than means you have to pay at least 42 chienkuns x 3 to get it to 3rd cast w/ 2 sockets, so no absolutely not. Also, first cast nv w/ 2 socket isn't worth having 2 sockets on it as well, so again no.
    full 3r9 +11/12 (still using immac shards though) w/o CSing, leveled to 105 spaming pv, yes i have no life =D

    It does, afaik, takes chienkuns to keep refine, would think it needs them to keep sockets.

    if your lucky you might keep it anyway ;o if not you could always indulge yourself in a better shard for that.

    You have to go through three transfers from base Lunar to get to G16.

    You'll be quite likely to get 2 sockets on at least one of those points, so unless you have some really good shards in the bow already, it's really not worth it. And that's assuming the stats on your G16 wind up being good ones the first time. If you don't get good stats first try that's more rerolls you're looking at.

    So really it just isn't worth it.

    Think its cheaper to buy socket stones to add the second socket compared to transferring using Chienkuns all the way.

    Socket stones cost about 3.5K - 4.5k each on arch server if you setup your own catshop to buy. 20K sockets stones will cost about 70M - 90M depending on how much you buy them for. Chienkuns cost about 50 silver each on sale and thats about 1M at current gold prices.

    Considering transfers from lvl 95 heaven shatterer -> G13 Nirvana -> G15 -> Nirvana -> G16, i don't know exactly how many chienkuns are requred, but according to thread starter, its 42 for lvl 95-> G13, so assuming 3 stages we are talking about 42 x 3 = 126 chienkuns, not forgetting that transferring sockets doesn't mean auto transfer shards, you need to add Chienkuns for shards if they are above lvl 7.

    so 126M > 90M? thats i think easy to see.

    Why would you bother 2 socketing a g16 Nirvana bow? Save the coin for r9rr.

    If you cared that much, just get a slingshot. Guaranteed 2soc.

Yeah, I was mostly concerned about resale value, but it seems even using the catshop socket stone route, it's still not increasing the value of the weapon by the same proportion as the cost of the extra socket. I went ahead and sent it through the forge without chienkuns, and got a 2 socket weapon. The second time through it lost the second socket, b:angry but whatever, an extra socket isn't worth it.

    yeah its not worth it, just easier and far cheaper to us a attack rune. no use throwing alot of coin in a weapon if you are going to farm for a r9 one.

    Not only have to transfer the sockets all way to g16, also have to transfer it on eventually rerolls since g16 doesnt keep sockets like g15 do when rerolling. (If you even are going for g16)
    So if 2socs are important, just try a couple rerolls when its g16. Mine turned out 2soc on both g15 and g16 so i was lucky ^^

    There is never a resale value that can recover what you have invested into it. Especially from a g15/g16 T2/T3 endgame weapon that is so easily farm. It's not going to happen very often if at all.

    Definitely go with the suggestions, to save and use that coin towards R9.
