The recent orb sale has jacked up the price on gold over at Morai server all the way to 3,500,000 coins per gold in comparishment to the usual 2,200,000 each.
This is the players doing it - not PWI.
On our server the gold is roughly 1,740,000+.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

PWI sets the gold/dollar conversion rate and the coin inflation rate (trough more or less coin sinks and more or less coin generating rewards)
This means they have pretty much full controll over the economy.
And indeed i agree with OP that it is important that PWI keeps inflation at bay. This is important for the causal FTP player who gets his set amount of coins from drops and BH rewards but has his purchasing power decline and it is important for the merchant who has a billion coins waiting for future R9 sales.
Obviously, both groups are not the ones who make PWI rich. Inflation on the other hand benefits future CSers. So Inflation is seems good for PWI, they just need to balance it and prevent hurting the casual players so much that they will leave.
Of course it may not be "GMs" that have this control, but PWI does for sure.
It amazes me to see how many players are blaming things on greed and stuff like that while ignoring market mechanics. There is no greed in the price of gold or tokens. Its pure market mechanics. And PWI has control of the variables in this market.

this last part here is what intrest me market mechanics are driven by greed aka = greed
its want of more that makes the market work im just saying call a spade a spade dont say its somthing else when it isnt give all us other players a bad name
in the end it is greed and greed alone that makes you buy or sell anything want want want0 -
You all Have Valid Points towrods Certain areas of the Market but this is really what it comes down to.
Gold Raises and drops in Price varries with Seasonal/Promotional Sell's and what not. This isnt going to change. and with how easy it is These days to make Coins and what not with
Players know that other players have Coins to spend GM's CS'ers are not to Blame for this .
Players that dont have the money to blow on Zen and Gold who have farmed their way to the top and reap the rewords of such usaly try to get the most out of what they have worked for. chances are that if gold prices were 2.2mil three months ago and somone bought 200gold they are dumping it on the market now for 3mil so they can get their money back and a smooth profit. this is the Name of the game Buy low Sell High when the sells are over the and all the seasonal stuff is over then prices will Drop and balance out.
You havent Lost money on anything if you havent invested in anything so QQing about it just makes you sound Dumb. The only thing you can do is A: Sit and wait til the prices Drop so you can Buy the amount of gold for the price your looking for.. or B: kick yourself for waiting this long to consider to invest and buy gold at current prices.
You can QQ to the GM's all day long But there isnt anything they can do about it they Honestly dont control the market prices .Have you seen the cost of stuff in game i bet you if the gms had control of gold prices then you wouldnt see a day in the future where gold was less then 5mil why because they would use the market as a way to make us feel that farming the coins for the gold is pointless and we would cave and just pay for it. if not the 10mil or higher range. but inflation has everything to do with the economy and the economy is the Players . GM's are few.. We are Many. im sure the gms could void and reset the market im sure they gm tools that could be used to reset or fix errors in the case of it being bugged or some starnge glitch. but as far as controling what the gold prices sell at Players not GM's have invested and Put a Price on their Investment. and that..is what you are seeing.
Not to mention with the exception of a few rare Instences Gold has always and probly will always be cheaper on PVE servers. PvP servers have always been more expensive and always cost the most to play on.0 -

I often craft and dig > resell. When I do, most of my items are bought and resold at a higher price. I can't control this.
When I did get a nice item from a pack and sold it for $10mil under the going price, I had one person insist me and others were gouging them and wanted me to drop it 10mil more...just for them of course. And then try to simply use me as if I"m some stupid twit that does not know the going price for the item I'm selling to them... and I do.
It's a tough question - "How to bring prices down and even things out".... I don't think we've ever solved the issue with bringing gold trading down either. It's almost like they play off each other.
I can live with a lower profit on my items, and I can live with others buying my items and reselling at a higher price. But while I'm not greedy, I also have to turn around and with my profit from sales, try to buy orbs and shards and such. I think many want to get the most bang for their buck.
It really can be a hard line to walk. Sell lower and then you must sell more to buy the items you need because the prices are skyrocketing on the item(s) you need.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
