Tonight when I was playing I DC'd while going into an instance and after my window went down this thing popped up . I've never seen it before and was wondering if it's something PWI added. If not maybe I need to run a scan on my computer f:ponder

That just means the game crashed, you can ignore it.

It means the game divided by zero because the code is so botched.

I hope that that's the joke and I don't get it but...

PWI runs on DX9, you can't run it on DX10 nor DX11...
And updating DX is done in such a way that modules are updated/added, it doesnt remove compatibility...

Even better said, installations of directx can co-exist, meaning you can install DX9, DX10 and DX11 seperatly.

Sorry to disappoint you, but yes, it apparently can run on DX9+.
I have never bothered installing DirectX 9 on this computer (running the game on DX11 as we speak). Unless PWI's got a sneaky way of adding unwanted programs to your rig without them showing up under your System Information tab, that is. f:scared

PWI is a DX9 game, it does not utilize anything available in DX11.
So no, it doesn't run on DX11, it's still just using DX9.
Unless they changed that without saying a word, but that would mean people running windows xp can't play PWI.

    Welcome to my world b:laugh
Its the typical error report and you get them because of many different reasons. Since the last big patches, my sister and i are getting those constantly just as many other people- result is we cant do dungeons etc anymore xD And PWI wasnt a big help either since you cannot clearly see whats the problem.

I just hope it is an onetime error you get, if you keep getting it .... well good luck b:surrender

Technically, even then I think DX9 is only used for the login window, and then it's DX8 once you're in-game.

If you have DX11 installed, there is built-in backwards-compatibility for previous DX versions. If you didn't have the appropriate compatibility, the client would display an error and make you run the DX9 install from it's directory.

Well yes, it would indeed have far more advanced graphics. Couldn't imagine PWI any other way, though.

And here I was wondering why it didn't prompt me to install DX9. That makes a lot of sense. f:cute
