Heya ppl

How's it going?
I haven't played PWI since december last year but might return after playing Rift and ****.
The reason I left is: Rank 9 being rlly expensive, most money making was done in this pvp arena thing (forgot name) and nirvana drops were 1/10 of the original price.
I've got a 101 barb and was wondering if this game has changed a bit (more NEW PLAYERS instead of old players making alts) and if there are different ways to make money then from that pvp thing? (I'm from Europe and when I started playing there were no european servers and once they came out I refused to abandon all time put into this account and all my friends).

So how is the game nowadays?
I do not need much,
I do not have much,
I do not miss much,
I have love and friendship,
To compensate for that!

Your concerns for leaving are still a thing.

Granted events and merching are great for coin but with the time zone gap you'd likely have issues with events and if you weren't merching before I doubt you'd come back and decide to give it a shot.

I believe the pvp place you speak of is called nation wars. EDIT: It is still here/arguably the best place to get coins.

As for everything else, it's still pretty much the same, isn't many truly new ppl coming in, people are questioning what is going on with the current glitch/punishment. Nirvy drops are well under the 1/10th of the price that I remember way back when nirvy was still run.

HOWEVER, depending on your luck, and how much you save up coin you can get r9 eventually via saving up coins from bh rewards, albeit it does take way longer... it so helps if you have more than 1 lvl 100.

All in all, I am still playing the game, and enjoying it... not sure how or why that is... but I have been going after my goal, but if I will ever meet that goal... only time will tell.

If all you are looking at is PvE, THEN:

    1. Get as far as you can get and enjoy what little bit of gaming experience you can get without spending any real $

    2. At ~level 40-55... Prepare yourself for days and weeks buying FC Heads and Hypers until you reach level 100 (Because you will not likely find any groups in order to complete the quests that open up your higher and higher level skills until ~85+)

    3. Wait for the new expansion to come out... So you can repeat steps 1 & 2

    4. And again (Being you will be able to reincarnate not once, but TWICE)
Now you will be ready for 101+ content...

    5. Now you can Prepare yourself with at least Rank 8 Recast, Nirvana 3rd Cast, or Rank 9 (Initial Cast to 3rd Cast is acceptable)... OR not get squads easily for endgame PvE content

If you are also looking at PvP content or just PvP Content, THEN:
Apply all above steps AND :

    6. Prepare yourself to now also socket (at ~$40-400 per piece x6 or 7 pieces) AND refine (at ~$40-600 per piece x10 to 12 pieces) AND engrave AND meridian AND god forbid you want a nice fly gear piece or a nice mount or nice fash b:shocked

    7. Same as step 2 But now at 100-101+ you need to Prepare yourself for days and weeks and months of buying Hypers and farming FC, Phoenix Valley or grinding till your nutz pop out your eye sockets until you reach level 103+ (105 is the highest you can get)... Not just on your actual level, but on your "Historic Level" (courtesy the new expansion)

** Roll backs, lack of in-game coin sources, lack of customer support, lack of company notice or accountability, the allowance to go eff yourself and maxxed out credit card all included.

I FULLY SUGGEST YOU PLAY THIS GAME! b:cute

    This is an absolute must.

The levels 40-55, without hypers and FC, take ooh, several hours to do.
Don't stop hypering once you reach level 60. Nobody ever, ever runs BH51, 59 or 69. Just not worth it and you will never find a squad to help you. Save up some gold to bribe an R9 sin to kill everything for all of your cultivation quests, 'cause learning how to play your toon is simply not worth doing.

<Paragraph above may contain traces of sarcasm>

Alternatively, find a decent faction, with 15-20 people online all the time and a range of levels. Play the game and enjoy yourself.

Or you could not be lazy and not Hyper at all. Seriously people... it's an MMO. You don't need to hit 100+ in 1-2 weeks. The fun is in the journey (big reason why people make alts). Why waste millions of coins on hypers just to reach 100+, get bored, make an alt, and do it all over again?
