So... now they're mostly all 1 coin. If the DQ system is disappearing, will those 1 coin DQ mats go back up to where they were before, so they're worth actually selling, or will they all be 1 coin again and disappointing to loot?
...A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the heavens come crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear in this world, I bid you stand, warriors of Pellucidar!

The whole point was to foil the professional botters. -Not gonna change.

Foil professional botters? What's a professional botter? Someone who tries to make actual money from coin? I don't think that type of person would have bothered with the items that were devalued, when you say 'professional' the first thing that comes to mind is highly geared, high level characters looting high level items. So we're devaluing items...

'hello employee, we've noticed that some of our other employees are making money without actually putting their heart into the work, and some seem to be making money without seeming to work at all, and to make it fair for those who are actually working, we're going to cut all your pay down to $1/hour, and new employees will get $0.25 per hour. It's easier than firing the bad employees...'

The first time I saw the devaluation, I didn't care that much. In fact, I read all the threads about people complaining about the devaluation, and how it was affecting the new players who were just joining the game. I didn't think it mattered that much, and then I started to notice something in PWI. No longer was 'please help me kill (insert lower level quest boss here)' a common occurrence in WC anymore. Lower level BH requests? Now they are almost nil. I can't tell you the last time I saw a request for anything under BH59, and even that request was rare. Then I started to realize that the actual new player base is almost gone. They run around trying to make coin and are looting these 1 coin mats, and it's so discouraging, I think they're leaving. The only newer players seem to be alts of the higher leveled players. Am I the only one seeing this trend?

Another fact: I used to create level one characters for fun, run around the city, and try to duel other low leveled players by range, by jumping up on things that were hard to get up onto. Sometimes it worked, but most of the time it was like 2 turtles trying to ram each other, ineffective... (1 damage, 1 damage, 1 damage) but hey it was fun. Now, I run around and there are no low level players anymore where there used to be many.

PWCN is (or was?) filled with players who use third-party programs to farm DQ drops and other things such as herbs, crafting materials and the like. They set up the program and the toon farms 24/7 while the player is free to play their main or do other stuff.

On top of this they can have multiple bots too and farm without pause and when I say multiple...I'm talking about pretty big amount of bots. There were a few screenshots being passed around the forums that originate from PWCN and show how badly botting was there.

Wanmei lowered the value of DQs to 1 to stop players from botting and "farming" them. Our PWI didn't have such a huge problem but we got the updates anyway. In response to that we got the DQ point system here instead. True, it's being phased out though they have announced that they are adding the system within ARC and perhaps change the way we gain the points (instead of DQs maybe items like fairy box keys, Nirvnana keys etc.).

I don't know how botting is in PWCN nowadays but they seem to be introducing an in-game bot as of now. Perhaps because fighting bots haven't been very successful.

Wow. Seriously. Had no idea it was that bad. Did this item devaluation help, or was it rendered null and void because now they have some sort of what? In-game bot?? You're kidding, right?

I don't play on PWCN myself so I really don't know. Everything I said in my previous post were things I've been told by others players who have played or tried PWCN or have reliable sources.

The in-game bot was brought up in this thread but it's a bit of a mess so I can' find the screenshots/posts about it. Granted, we don't get everything PWCN gets so we may or may not get the bot but better be prepared I guess b:shocked

Honestly though, if we do get the in-game bot over here too then removing DQ point value of DQ drops was a good move. We better get points from things we actually farm in-game (NPC TT mats? Fairy box keys from BH?) but we haven't been given much information about the new DQ system thus far.
