Installing after a long time

PWI was one of my first MMORPGs ever, so obviously it has a lot of nostalgia for me and I guess that's a huge factor for me giving it another choice. But I know how PWE ruined this awesome game and how boring and broken it was when I left it. Even still, I want to play it again, maybe it will last a week or not even that much, but I still want to see how it is.

What I want to know is, what do you guys think about the game? Do we still feel like PWE breaks a lot more than it fixes, do we still feel that PWI could be much better and much more balanced? Are certain dungeons still completely unused? Are certain classes much less useful than others? Is the only way to be useful to spend a lot of money on chests and etc?

Dude.... Take a longer break and dont do anything till the next expansion.. PWI is in a very bad state right now - just read the forums...

Delay your ultimate decision till the new year... and you may not have to live through what the rest of us are.... and you may still like the game then... lol

Read around the forums, and you'll get the same sense that caused you to leave initially. Sure the game can be fun, but the publishing and developing companies are both pushing players away at a rapid pace. Note that due to a recent hiccup where PWE decided to give out a code that was running on a glitchy piece of software, a rollback may be done of the servers shortly.

You've probably chosen the worst time to come back. The state of the game for the past month has been complete and utter chaos.

The game has been a lot more fun for me personally than in the first 3 years of playing.

In all utter honesty the core people on Heaven's Tear still play daily, so there are always squads for anything you want to do.

TONS of new instances, quest lines, morai stuff, loads of skills. Nation Wars is fun as hell as long as you don't take yourself too seriously and try to only get into fights you can handle.

TW server map has been consistently resetting every 6 months which gives a lot of little guilds an opportunity to get some TW action at the beginning of each season, so that is really fun.

There's buttloads of xp quests out there so lvl 100+ is easier than ever. Gear is getting cheaper, still fairly easy to farm. Farm what you can then the harder bosses you buy the mats from.

Warsong squads going allllll the time. The stage 3 Nirvy Gear is actually really good, I've seen 2-3 s3 Nirvana people take down 1 r9s3 with top shards/refines. So if you don't pay you play with others and it evens out.

idk, there's a lot of griping, the community is really weak minded. A lot of people on the forums are just... idk, not honest or not smart or.. the smart ones aren't as talkative. Overall it's been a pretty good revival for me personally.

They made the end game instances a bit harder. The FB99s, (BH100 some days, also weekly quests for great gear shards) they can be pretty tough, so there's a lot of working together. More reasons to vent/guild up than ever before.

Daily quests for lower levels to get 500k-800k/day which buys powerlevels or gear, whatever you feel like. Make a squad of alts for Jolly Jones quest daily and do them while you goof around on your main. Pretty much point click quests, can get you quite a bit of money per day to help farm end game gear.

All around it's fun, easy, pretty sociable. There's a LOT of broken stuff with their most recent update. New Title quests some have bosses missing, some have spawn triggers missing. The new Hidden Dragon Den doesn't have a door... the perfect match system never wants to stay OFF once you've turned it on once.. haha

little stuff, but it's an improvement in overall gameplay. Always something to do.

It's kind of a draw, because it's an old game. There's no real "EPIC" quests that make you go "HOLY **** THAT WAS COOL"

but they are definitely trying to keep us entertained, trying to give us more stuff to do. It's all about how you play and if you can FIND things to entertain you. Sort of sandboxy with no real main quest line.

Wow, there sure are shiny happy people here.

This game is not to be sent to the garbage bin yet, though it is true that is has been awfully managed recently.

There sure are new things to do in this game, but the ambience sure smells so much like a rotten rat.
If you are easily impressed by negative vibes, don't have a good faction or friends that still play PWI, can't bear the gold rate and sometimes utterly stupid wc (don't forget to flush regularly!), it's better to stay away until better times come around. b:bye

Oh btw, if you didn't spend your DQ points, better do it now, before the present system gets removed.

Remove Hypers and the issue with unpolulated towns and quest areas will be fixed.

Remove Cannies and Raps from the NW forges then Nirvana is fixed thus another instance to run.

Make Silver/Gold charms/ GS purchasable from NPC's and the lack of PVP will be fixed.

Remove Blessings....

I will stop there in other words wish for change and hope ur wishes come true other then that there are alot of ppl that still do play so some are still having more fun then others.

Honestly the only reason long time players still play is because we've sunk too much money into this game and it would be a shame to waste it. Luckily I've managed to wean myself down to only playing very occasionally. So I can laugh about this **** now instead of being personally affected by it.

I'm just really sad that such an amazing game went down the drain due to bad management. I played when there were only 6 classes, when you could buy Zen with 100k gold and PvP was happening all around and there were no bull**** "luck" chests. Can't find good MMORPGs nowadays

It's just that most people are negative.

I still like the game. Not only to help others but also to find out if something is soloable. Even made this game funnier by using a spreadsheet telling me which of my toons- got many, on different servers- isn't active enough. It's actually keeping me alive in PWI otherwise I would be in Realm of Reality (Royaume de la Reflexion) all the time.

As I posted in another thread, this game has been reduced to 3 simple steps...

STEP 1:
Spend the 3 or 4 days with Jolly Jones, collecting the free coin, completing the easy bounty orders quests, and clicking on the check in title event for Exp and Spirit, while leveling to 71. (Not very hard)

STEP 2:
Repeat STEP 1 for however long you feel appropriate collecting the free coin, exp, and spirit while keeping yourself under level 80. Your week of "HARD" work will net you:

Between 14% - 42% exp depending on your level and just under 5.5 million in coin.

STEP 3:
(When ready)
Spend your hard earned coins and spirit on cheap current level NPC gear, skills, and TM69 runs, then hyper FC runs until Level 100.

PWI in 3 Steps, enjoy.

It's 2x today, and Lunar. I could quickly and easily make some good coin soloing the BH for 8 toons, but I'm gonna spend my day looking at other games (not by this company) instead.

If all you are looking at is PvE, THEN:

1. Get as far as you can get and enjoy what little bit of gaming experience you can get without spending any real $

2. At ~level 40-55... Prepare yourself for days and weeks buying FC Heads and Hypers until you reach level 100 (Because you will not likely find any groups in order to complete the quests that open up your higher and higher level skills until ~85+)

3. Wait for the new expansion to come out... So you can repeat steps 1 & 2

4. And again (Being you will be able to reincarnate not once, but TWICE)

Now you will be ready for 101+ content...

5. Now you can Prepare yourself with at least Rank 8 Recast, Nirvana 3rd Cast, or Rank 9 (Initial Cast to 3rd Cast is acceptable)... OR not get squads easily for endgame PvE content

If you are also looking at PvP content or just PvP Content, THEN:

Apply all above steps AND :

6. Prepare yourself to now also socket (at ~$40-400 per piece x6 or 7 pieces) AND refine (at ~$40-600 per piece x10 to 12 pieces) AND engrave AND meridian AND god forbid you want a nice fly gear piece or a nice mount or nice fash b:shocked

7. Same as step 2 But now at 100-101+ you need to Prepare yourself for days and weeks and months of buying Hypers and farming FC, Phoenix Valley or grinding till your nutz pop out your eye sockets until you reach level 103+ (105 is the highest you can get)... Not just on your actual level, but on your "Historic Level" (courtesy the new expansion)

** Roll backs, lack of in-game coin sources, lack of customer support, lack of company notice or accountability, the allowance to go eff yourself and maxxed out credit card all included.

I FULLY SUGGEST YOU PLAY THIS GAME! b:cute

Good decision. I made already some threads in some online magazine forums today to warn others to never play any game of PWE, especially not PWI. And I hope that some of the responsible people of the PWE staff will lose their jobs before xmas for this disaster. They would absolutely deserve it, they obviously even don't care if they lose it or not. PWI was also my 1st MMO and I'm playing it since beta (with some breaks). I'm installing another MMO atm, a new one where you have to tame dragons... I read that it's not P2W (yet). And the forum get's moderated by HIRED employees, which are even active on weekends! (unimaginable for PWE, even at their best times).

Actually...you only really need to start doing FCC when you get around lvl 75/80. Prior that there are plenty of updated quests plus BH and other dailies that are more than enough to level you up without FCC.

Unless you want to get to 100 in a couple of days.

Well to be fair and give a better answer instead of my previous post. I still enjoy this game but I would personally not recommend it to other people at this point.
