Should pwi players be compensated for server and developmental issues?

    Alright, so boomz let`s get this straight. Since PWI is F2p that means your using something what PWI owns which is your acc for free. Your not even a customer. Does customers have rights to show unsatisfaction about products? Ofcourse they have, that`s the way how products get improved but that is just ridiculous to ask something back. Don`t like the product? Move on and choose other game but please don`t make these pointless posts. b:bye

    No. PWI doesnt need to compensate because your free to walk away to another game. They arent holding any 'subscription payment' hostage. They are offering a service free of charge. Whether its utter **** or not doesnt matter because the customers arent forced into staying
    Its the same in real life. If you get free service thats crappy as hell, you dont ask them to compensate you cause you stuck around their free service. They and everyone around you are just going to look at you like your dumb as f***

    Although I don't always agree with PWE's methods but sometimes there are things that happen and are out of their control (or happen during the middle of the time when they are not at work).

    Yeah...maybe other MMOs have service 24/7 but like the poster says..they are not forcing you to stick around and..well um you can always grab a book, watch a movie, play another game in the meantime.

    However, most of the time they do give us something in return for the mess. They have a history of at least compensating us when servers have issues.

    This would be true if the game was totally free to play, however it is not. In fact over 75% of the people that play this game have spent money on it. PWI is PW's "cash cow" it is their most successful game because of how much money people put into it. Because of that, they do have an existing obligation although it might not be stated in the ToS. You can call it common courtesy. b:shutup

    This would be true if the game was totally free to play, however it is not. In fact over 75% of the people that play this game have spent money on it.

    The game is totally free to play... and I'd like to know where you're pulling that 75% statistic out of.

    I'm not going to comment on the rest as I've already stated my opinion on the matter.

    i don`t know why you complain about ppl get pissed, and argue against every1 here that is not happy with this situation. All this can be different than this if some1 from PWE just came and type that they got a problem and they working on it. All of us will be happy but they do nothing and actually didn`t write any single work for few days.

    it IS free to play. becuz u spend ur money on pixels doesnt make u a customer(on a Free To Play game, everywhere else it does). PWE might want u to pay more(businesses FTW) but when they make community decisions(such as ARC) they have to include those ppl who arent paying them. Be happy with the game as it is atm. We have 2x like every couple weeks. So if u want more 2x, wait for the next one. if u miss a day of 2x(wether ur busy or PWE has gaming problems) too bad. usually PWE does compensate players for problems on their end. Also id like to know where this 75% statistic came from as well

    I was planning on giving your points a serious and well-thought response. I really was.

    Then I realized that it's not worth it as your response to me has no actual solid ground as it's mostly filled with fallacy, unquantified (and basically false) information, and doesn't seem to really have a full grasp of what it was directed to.

    I urge you to reread and try to understand both of my responses in this thread, as well as educate yourself somewhat on both the staff presence (while low, saying they've not responded to things at all is far for several days is far from accurate) and my own points and opinions (I do not complain about people being dissatisfied and I'm one to quickly point out where I feel PWE has screwed up as the case may be).

    After doing that, then come back and try again. Hopefully with a more coherent point and reasoning so that we can actually have something to discuss.

    Personally I don't care if we get compensated or not.

    We shouldn't expect something in return everytime something happens that we don't like.

    At least if we do get something (which it sounds like we are/will be soonish) its no where near the slap in the face of what happened back during the whole goon glitch fiasco.

    a blessing lasts 6 days.

    I say no. Simply because its not a if we pay a subscription or have to be here. The only way pwi will take notice is if there is a mass exodus from the game. Then they would say its been a good run and let the game die or change/fix things or get their players back. Its a free to play game. You choose to be here.

    PWE/PWI were already got their hands full with preparation for next update, next is the massive bug patching and fixes, not to mention the ticket floods from customer.

    Asking them for more compensation is going to give them more load, I say let them work the issue first.

    Hopefully can keep their schedule of server/web maintenance so all can work properly again.

    Its a free game, no one is forcing you to pay or play this game.

    Asking compensation and raging at admin/gm is like a kid crying for not given any more free candies which are bad for their teeth. b:laugh

    For admin/GM, you have our support, so keep flushing those bugs out of the system.

    (According to the Better Business Bureau- PWE Currently has 400 Employee's, for the amount of employee's they have i'm sure they can handle all of the aforementioned.)

    Asking them for more compensation is going to give them more load, I say let them work the issue first.

    (I say have them prioritize more of their many employee's from their assignments and bring a few over to this game specifically and rectify the issues that are ongoing here for this community)

    Hopefully can keep their schedule of server/web maintenance so all can work properly again.

    (And possibly this as well because players like myself are still waiting on a simple database update for the rankings system "IN ENGLISH" just fixing that would be greatly appreciated)

    (PW-publishers aren’t in the business of charity. They’re looking to turn a profit, so they want to sell things in their cash shops that people find useful and will want to buy, thus making it clear that anyone who purchases items from these shops are therefore customers of PWE and do have the right to be treated "with that base concept in mind" as a valued customer)

    All in all the replies I have issued in these quotes are all justified and therefore valid. GM DefenderofDreams did in fact post here stating this is a concern he has issued himself from his end. And in the end that is the best we can hope for that it becomes something that can be addressed and prioritized.

    GM's you have our support as a community of players whether it be free to play players, or customers who pay to win. We just ask that there be more actual statements made to the forums and the community specifying that the issues are actually being addressed or are things you are aware of and handling.

    These small steps will help maintain the structure of our community. THANK YOU!

    I dont think they should have to compensate, it sorta just sounds like an excuse to get free stuff. It'd be one thing if we were lousing anything but time, but seeing as how we aren't at a significant louse it seems a bit irrelevant/

    Let it be known on one of the serveral crashes the server reverted to an earlier saved state a small rollback if you would. And I lost a Deity Stone out of my gear and the shop who sold it to me for 40m per DOT no longer had it "most likely someone purchased my DOT's". This is one story of hundreds from the passed week of server crashes without speaking of all the actual other issues going on simultaneously.

    That being said it may not be a big issue because I'll get my DOT's again eventually at the price I want b:cry .. But the point is I had them already and shouldn't have had to go through this b:surrender And if i'm the first one to mention this slight loss of server data then congrats GM's because this also happened unfortunately.

    When was this "rollback"?

    After a maintenance, not last one, but the other before I think, when people in realm wasn't able to log back in game, they did a rollback.

    On topic I personally don't care about a gift or not, maybe a week of 2x since people wasn't able to enjoy it at last with all the lags and dc. (and on the East servers only, not on all servers, only East servers was affected, so in my opinion only East should be compensated if you decide to compensated with a other week of 2x)

    Just communication would be appreciated, when servers have issues it would be really appreciated if a GM/CM take a 1 minute to make a sticky thread saying they are aware of the issue and working on it, beside letting people make 15 threads of 30 pages without a word and I say a sticky cause on 15 threads on the same subject we cannot check 300 pages to see if a GM/CM did reply somewhere.

    all 400 employess are over 15(?) games. then PR secretarys etc etc.for the games each has their own problems PWE has to deal with. so with that in mind they rly are understaffed. tho i agree a bit better communication would be nice.

    I will greedily and happily accept, with appreciataion, any bonus that DoD is able to wrangle for us.

    I don't think they owe it to us. F2P is F2P. You can play without spending money though many decide for themselves to enhance the experience by buying something. If they receive what they bought, they are not owed any more and are back into F2P.

    I get as frustrated as anyone when things go wrong. Apologies for all the bad things I've said about PWE during stress ..... and that includes all the bad things I will say in the future. b:chuckle

    When someone tells you that it's easy to maintain a large, distributed application 24/7 (more-or-less) you can be sure of only one thing: they've never sniffed a software development job of any magnitude. Even if it worked last week, there is no guarantee that a small mod won't wreak havoc, this week. Trust me. I've had much experience wreaking havoc on software systems.

    So yeah, be frustrated. We all are. So are they. Just keep in mind that "they" are working class stiffs who care about their reputations and the quality of their work. Make your voices heard so they can know what you care most about, but don't pop a forehead vein.
