Sooo, is it worth coming back?

Hello everyone, I am one of the few players who got to play this game in its finest state, however, I feel like playing again.
So I logged on today and i created a char of every class just to see if there were any players joining. Sad thing is, I was the only one in the starter areas . . . is this game dead? I really feel like playing again but I don't want to be wasting time if its not worth it . . and i wouldnt really enjoy it if i was the only green dot in the mini map. That is all, thank you everyone. ( Sorry if this has been posted before, but i want to make sure the info i get is up to date )

Posted before again and again indeed...
Anyway, my point on that is that this is not because low levels area are quite deserted that the game is dead. However if you knew the game some years ago and expect to see as many people as before, then it won't be the case.~ Sage Mystic 105-105-105 ~

As for green dots, it seems you're in the newbie areas.. quests and plvls give significant XP and PWI gives incentives to be high level so when you get to higher levels you'll find a lot more ppl doing things.
No doubt though the server population has declined. If this isn't your cup of tea then it's not worth coming back.0 -
the game went dead when gold went from 75k to 100k...and then after that they made the fishies, then they did anni packs, killed fc(now its for power leveling) NW came and killed nirvi and then they killed NW...only thing left to nuke is TT and with the way the game is going i give it 1 year, 2 years top before they shut down the servers, it would be the best thing right now to just find another game.0

There are very few new players or returning players to PWI. On top of that, most people either stuck around and have been 100+ for years, or they quit and moved on. As for the new people and inbetweeners, PW has launched many things that help passively and actively level characters faster.
i.e. It took me 2 days to level my Archer from 99 to 100.
i.e. It takes maybe an hour to level to 10?
i.e. I don't even bother leveling alts with anything more than a BH run and Crazy Stone as that is usually enough, but there are more things to do like:
A) Phoenix Valley
Frostcovered City
C) BH II Exp pills from the Bh100+ (Account stash only, and only usable by level 70+)
D) Realm of Reflection; up to 12 hours of AFK exp/sp every 24 hour day.
E) Random old school questing
F) Daily Base Quest? I think the Exp is only for level 100+ but I may be wrong.
G) Some time ago the mandatory quests were "Revamped" so they now give More exp/sp, and they take less time to complete.

Honestly PWI is prolly one of the most interesting game. Just need more content to bring in players.
FW is similiar to this if you wish to try something else.

I played PW 3 years on the older versions prior to PWI coming out. Then I came to PWI when it came out.
I also jumped to newer, cooler looking games for 1.5 years but you know... they never compared. It's not just the graphics or larger maps - it's about the game play, the community and the interaction.
This time I rolled a PvE server - and I could not be happier.
It's been since September 01, you can see I'm only 80 but .. I'm having SO much fun - and I have not even reclogged my other games.
Actually going to uninstall them this weekend.
I'm very excited about the changes to Venomancer, the updates and of course the expansion coming.
And the maps here are large - you do have people in these areas but they are scattered around.
The most important reason to play, is to have fun.. and if you join a decent guild, make friends, just take it easy - you will.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yes i think it is worth playing playing pwi.
Only few things i do not like about clerks. im full G16 + most important fight skills learned sage (metal mastery, plume shot, cyclone, wield thunder and sleep skill lv 10) And still cannot solo fire pav in Warsong.
Finding party's is not hard for clerk, but the coin making and fighting is compared to other classes i'm highly the underdog to stand my own ground.
So therefor my main income is BH 100, jolly chars f:weep0 -
These days I mostly just log in to do the meridian and daily log in reward since I can only play around midnight after work.
But then i realized I don't have enough mystical pills to open any gates in the meridian system, so I'll try to do BH and look for a bh squad or make one.
Done with bh and got crappy reward, as I about to log off friend asking me to help with lunar in a few hours to farm his badge, so I decided to get some pots.
O look, in wc someone is making aeu squad which mean free apo drops, so I join for two aeu runs untill my friend got back and we do lunar run.
After the run I got several lunar mats in bag and since my bank is full I'll try to sell them so I look around in archo for catshops buying lunar mats and found one. I also found a catshop selling a page of Fate for 40k (missing a zero) and I already have 25 PoF from earlier cube runs.
Lucky, a person I know is making Hidden Dragon Den squad, so I join for the PoF reward. When HDD is finished, I got all 30 PoF and try my luck in amking skill book. Got a crappy one and sells it in auction house, then i realized I havent opened my meridian yets so i try my luck, bad luck since I got all death gates.
So after I'm done with my goal of opening meridian gates, I log off, and realized the sun is rising b:surrender

World Quest for level 90+ = 678,000 exp and 135,600 spirit.

No, don't waste your time.
This game is mostly populated by very very addicted people, most of them are cash-in people or ultra hardcore farmers.
There are no new players to the game because the game is pretty much dead and unatractive, most low level characters (like 99%) are alts.
There is an upcoming expansion that MAYBE turns the game into an infinite levelup-reset loop, or maybe not. No one knows.[S.E.V.C.H.E.N.K.O]

This game has the content,quest,etc but most fail to use its content and rather get to lvl 100 to do daily bh's(like me) and small content like morai.The reason I never left is because nothing intrest me in gaming in the past years,why?..because I seen it allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll,now if this game didn't have custom character design I would have never stayed in the first place.PWE should have done that with all its MMO games and not the same cookie cutter toons that have on their other games.I actually tried other MMO but the character custom wasn't like this game,i like to look different thatn others because it makes your toon unique..other games your just a clone.
Come back to pw,join a guild and get to know it,maybe a few guilds or something,though the game is demanding in coin to get anywhere then making coin will be your best skillb:laugh
its your choice to play or not,just remember its only a game and don't drop tons and tons of RL cash in this game..im sure you have better peer pressure than that.0 -
PWI is not a dead game. The starter areas are admittingly low on people. This is due partially because of interest in other games, as well as some mistakes that PWI made where being low leveled is VERY DISCOURAGED...and being high leveled is. My advice is that if you really want to see how populated each server is, make a CLERIC (Due to free flight from level 1.) Take this character and explore the lands with your wings. FLY to major cities, to areas that catch your interest. Definitely check out Archosaur city. OF course, you can teleport too with any character, but this will give you a chance to explore the lands, and the people without having to run around on the ground. As long as you don't get too close to certain mobs, or aerial mobs, you should be fine. The cleric that you create does not have to be your main or anything. Its purpose is literally to scout the area on wings to see how populated things are. When you arive in Archosaur, and certain major cities, you'll see a LOT more people. This approach may take a while, but it will give you a good idea of what the game is like, and its population. (I wouldn't do this during an event because most people will be off doing the event, but I advise you to try this method and see how you like it.)

No point asking on the forums, too many people here are on a personal vendetta against PWE xD If you wanna get a real answer to your question just play for a couple of weeks, join a guild, go try out the content. If you're not interested after that, then no the game isn't for you. Otherwise great, new (kinda) blood in a server ^^"In the beginning, it was claimed that all in Perfect World were equal. My 2 cents worth, in the same boat with you as to play with the idea of coming back and really to be honest the game hasn't really shown anything impressive to have me come back. Example this Halloween sale is the exact same sale as last year and 2x I've noticed is becoming more and more common. The game in my eyes after not logging on since August really seems to be a money pit. I still think TW/NW was fun but r93 is about as common as finding ants on a candy that is on the ground. R93 is just crazy expensive when you take a step back and look at it $25 for 1 MOG and you need what? 8 all together = $200.00. This game was very much a lot of fun back in the days before packs and I'll admit packs really was the beginning of the downfall of pwi.0

I took most of this year out of the game having played since the start, only came back about 6 weeks ago. Its difficult asking in the forums as people have widely differing views about the state of the game and there is no doubt its no where as populated as before but did you start playing the game cause it was busy? No! chances are you started playing it as you liked MMOs.
The only way you will know if it right for you to stay back is to come back and try it. I'm fairly happy being back now that I have settled back in. I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to play it, it started to become more like a full time job. I like to log do a couple of dailies, BH, Morai, etc.
Remember its a game and should be based on it entertainment/fun level to you, if it ain't achieving either of those then its time to try something else0
