Is the Auspicious Event broken?

News site says:

"The Auspicious Contest has been an on-going event occurring randomly for the past couple weeks. Now, it will be happening everyday at 11am, 3pm, and 6pm PDT for players to take part in. The Master Astrologist in Northern Archosaur will appear with a quest for players to keep the phoenix, Zhu Que, from making his trip through the center of Archosaur."

Google says:

"Current time in Los Angeles
Monday, 28 October 2013, 15:31:46 PDT"

Been waiting here since before 3pm PDT...still no event b:cry

    Its PWE who cant get times right. Its every single time there is change from summer to winter time and vice versa. I bet it starts 3pm PST, which is 4pm PDT.

    Ok this event started late, and is now done. According to the website the wind event is suppose to follow the Auspicious Event. The Wind NPCs have yet to spawn, just curious by "following" did they mean right after or 2, 3 hours later.

    Yes the event started on time, 10 minutes before it should on my time, and i calculated that by west cost server time, so i aasume the time on that post about the event is the west server time, +9 hour my time, tou dont know is that pst dst gst or mog b:chuckle
    Oh and the Wind event starts 1 hour after Auspicious on Archosaur server

    I read on another thread [that has been closed] where someone couldn't open auspicious chests - and was told event is only do-able once a day, which i knew anyway.

    However I'm having the same problem - tried it twice today so far and been unable to open a chest even though these were my first attempts of the day!

    So is there some sort of magic figure you have to reach before you qualify? I got 342k+ points and was in top 10 of archers taking part - I can't believe that wasn't enough??!!

    This isn't the first day I've had this problem either - i do event most days but still only managed 4/5 to get the title!!

    So whats going on??

    Yes I know you can only do it once a day!!

    As I said - I tried it y'day and FIRST TIME I couldnt open a chest.

    As I hadn't completed the quest I assumed I could try again (and indeed I wasn't prevented) so did it a 2nd time, but STILL couldn't open a damn chest - even though I got a reasonable score and placing.

    Hence my question - is there a minimum score you got to get before you are deemed worthy enough to open a chest? Was my first attempt y'day counted as 'doing the quest' even though I wasn't able to complete it? And as a result my 2nd attempt wasn't counted because I'd effectively tried and failed??
