What has ''knowing TSR'' have to do with that am I Old-Timer of RPG or not? Before PWI I of course played many RPG Games, I just don't bother learn any shortcut words of something. All I was saying that its just very stupid sentence to use about a game that never ends, don't you get it? And why should I learn any origins about RPG games. The reason for them is just to have fun and just play. Its nothing to be serious about.

Who remember the likes of Ultima, Wizardry and Might and Magic? TSR basically created the rule books forming the foundations of all RPG games till this day. i still have those 1d6 and 1d20 dices :P

Just because they removed dq points and having new patches doesnt mean its not worth playin.

DQ points is mainly benefiting the botters anyway and not the honest the honest players.
Arent players always hoping for updates, and when pwi finally makes updates players are the first ones to critisize it.

we should be happy that they are updating the game, that means that the administrators and gms are still there and they have not abandon us.

would you rather play a game that hasn't updated in 1 year or a game that is updating and making changes.

    Just a thought from me.

Well while I mostly agree with you. I would also like an update so that people can put a modest effort into the game, do decently well and enjoy the content the game has fully. As of late it feels more like a first person shooter where you don't have a gun and your the target. (Reference to competing with r999 god mode) until that update comes I'll hold my breath.

    Yes -- for now.

I would happily move on (Or try to) if I only just bought a gaming computer instead of rank 9.

I havent gotten my r9 (yet) but even if i had i couldnt walk away from this game.
TBH if u put the time and effort into this game it is fun and sociable. Sure there are nuisances like the cost of stuff in game and the regular trolls, but all in all its a fun game. You can make friends, have fun and play for hours and months and years and STILL learn things you didnt know before. I love pwi which is why as of late i have started pushing for our rights as gamers to be informed of stuff and our right to play without TOO much drama or hassle from people that want to cause problems. Regardless of your level of devotion this game is fun and even with the removal of things making it hard to get free stuff like DQ it is still a great game to sit and play. I have tried playing many other games and some were really good. But in the end i always came back to my blademaster and my server i play on. So my answer is Yes. A big resounding yes.

...Since I'm an atypical PWI player (no wish to cap, to have R9, to buy gold for items I don't need or to open packs like crazy, while having tons of alt chars, all active), I still find ways to enjoy the game still.

I am glad to be in a very nice faction, so I do not have to deal with unnecessary hassle.
Oh and yes, I take time to explore the game and its details, something too many seem to have forgotten to do as years pass by.

Yep, I'm a bad PWI client, but again, I contribute to the game in an indirect way. b:shutup

(That said, I am aware that PWE made some awful choices over the years and need to listen to us more. Just imagine how the game would have been if they did things right.
But again... I actually stopped caring about it and try to avoid the worse aspects of the game. How long will it be before the players can't tolerate the growing mess they are facing?)
Maintenance time. Please choose a line:
    - When is it over? OMG I need my fix!! *super spazzing*
    - Fix the damn bugs, dammit! I'm so angry! I'll quit!!
    - New codes out there? I like free stuff~ *wink*
    - When will we get new content? QQ
    - Will we get sales? I got a ton of gold to spend.
    - I'm bored, I'll create a useless thread to annoy Opkorock.
    - *Incessant poking on Sweetiebot* Fun~

Is PWI worth playing? Yes, it is. Anyone who is posting on the forums and does not believe PWI is worth playing, must be here for the sole purpose of stirring the pot and trolling the proverbial bridge.

For those who are chucking toddler fits over those who cash-shop, and claiming PWI is a pay-to-win game; I'm really getting tired of the assumptions. There are people in r9rrr who cash-shopped none of it. There are many players who are pros at merchanting on their own (buying for less/selling for more) on the streets of Arch and in the Auction House. I personally know a barb with full r9rrr and vit stones in everything, refined to +12 [Edit: his stuff is +10, my bad] and he has never spent one dollar (real life money) on PWI. So, I simply ask, for those of you who cannot see past the end of your noses, you might want to take a second look at how folks are getting into their r9s.

I just made 89 mil in 3 days alone...doing nothing but sitting in a catshop selling tokens. Pay attention to when prices soar, and when they decrease. Buy low, sell high...it's not difficult.

Many people work outside their home (or at home) and run a tight ship (strict schedule). These people cannot sit around and play PWI all day long, and thus (most of the time) will not gain in-game coin as fast as those who have the opportunity to play all day, or no part of the day, or have the choice to do either/or. Some people have massive incomes and cash-shop thousands of real-life dollars on the game. So what? I believe there is a massive amount of jealousy/envy running rampant through the lands of PWI. I currently have an r9 ring (no gear yet) that I earned via merchanting (Catshop) [Edit: and 20 gold my husband generously gave me as a gift] Chances are likely I will not get the rest until r10 has been released, and r11 on the way (a really long time in other words). However, I don't spend my time whining at cash-shoppers; THEY EARNED their money too...in real life. For those who have rich mommies and daddies forking over the dough left and right, I wonder how much quality time *those* parents spend with their children (other than passing them money to keep them occupied). Everyone has a story, it's not up to anyone to judge...and usually it's the envious ones doing the judging.

I cash shop for fashion and for the crafting skills - that's it. If I want something else out of the boutique, I earn the coin in game and exchange it for gold. IF you don't have the time to play 24/7, don't be hating on those who do...it's not their fault you don't have time, or choose not to make time. For some, the game is a small aspect of their life, for others it's a big part of it. For some people, reality sucks so much that the only way they can escape it is to play PWI as often as possible...so what? They're not looking for your approval; live and let live.

If you're tired of being poorly geared - either find another game or cut something out of your life so you have more time to make coin in game. Stop dissing r9ers because you choose not to work toward it. Stop dissing PWE for certain boutique items. If you want to be a heavy gamer - something else has to give a little, unless you have access to some random time-machine toting nutjob or a professor who has mastered cloning.

PWI is not a pay-to-win game, contrary to the hundreds of claims to the contrary. Plenty of people are out there farming and harvesting and merchanting their arses off, to get their gear. If you choose not to do the same, or are unable to do so, due to real life schedule...why diss them because they have the time you don't?

And...for the record, if the cash-shoppers didn't spend their RL currency on the game, the game would not be free to play; period. You might want to think about that the next time you go to make some silly random judgment on a cash-shopper.

Anyway....yeh, PWI is very much worth playing.b:mischievous

I've seen many that have worked very hard for R9 reputation as well as gear.

It is not impossible - I'm just level 75 and already farming for my 100 gear. I managed to get one ring, the adorn and farming hard for the second ring. I did ZEN quizzes and uses that zen for buying chips for some of the items that are hard to farm.

Where there is a will - there is a way.

Also farming for my level 6 crafting skills.

    I"m having fun.

I personally find PWI fun to play. I may not be that far in actual levels but, been here for nearly 3 yrs. PWI is definitely at a dry spot tho. Very few players for BHs. More players using FC easier with newer daily.

Is PWI worth playing to you? I feel like im in the middle here with all the changes that went and updates. I've been off for quite awhile and seeing it now with like what? 1 gold is 1.5mill? I remember it used to be 750k and it just kept rising. I may have lost contact of friends, and now is faction-less. You even have to pay to for FB, FCC, whatever, haters, trollers, whoever they are called now days. lol. I've played this game for 4 years, it was amazing back then. Now all they have is snobs, btchs and hoes. Sorry for the offensive. But Im just wondering, for those past members, do you guys still play? Even with the crucial gold that they are asking. I guess im still a noob in playing this if I cant play it right, some of us cant lol. I feel that some people who spend real money on this, regret it.

Prolly the daily that is causing the rise in price. Mixed with newbie noobs. :P

as a person who has been playing a long time, I have to admit that the game is starting to get boring because of two reasons:
    1. pwi has turned the game into a csing game where it is pay to win. It use to be a farming game early on where you farm to win.
    2. the lack of new content and its infrequency has also attributed to this.
However, I am hoping at least #2 will change soon with the new update, which I hope will come soon and not in like three months.

Pay to Win? I haven't seen anyone winning this game, and you can't. Nobody stops you to keep farming. Just farm then. That's what I do and I am doing just fine in game.

No. I am not trolling. If I were trolling, I would speak of things like "I can't get past level 102, I die in pk too much..." or "You still dont know what to do with that lottery ticket?..." or "OMG you didnt accidentally npc that titles quest item!?"

    I like this.

The thing is - no one needs to cash shop. This is still your decision. I have known players that simply did not have any funds to cash shop and they did turn out to be amazing players.

Ask yourself - do I play to have THE best cool things, beat people as often as I want? Or did I come for the experience, the playing the fun?

Sure, I know what it is like to have a while the other player has A. Difference noted. But that in no way makes me less or.. insignificant. If it does, it's not the game - it's you.
