Arc wont open when I attempt to start it

I ran into another really stupid problem after reinstalling Arc. When I click on the symbol, my cursor shows the loading symbol, then stops suddenly without opening Arc. That's the same as doing nothing. It's like, I'm locked out of the game! This is an extremely horrible problem. Why is this extremely stupid problem happening and how do I prevent it?!

    My best friend next door had this problem took him like 5 hrs of raging at me to make it work, but i didn't know how.

    Eventually he called and said adding it to you anti-virus works. Buts its a 50/50 as i've never had that problem and i've never had arc on at all.

    This is correct. It's on the download page for the clients, and it's been posted thousands of times over the past 5 years.

    You must exclude the programs directories from all antivirus scans and temporarily disable your active scan when you are downloading. Failure to do this has a high probability of your antivirus eating the files and **** up your download/install.

    Arc has been able to download and open even with my antivirus turned on. Any other reason why Arc cannot open this time?

    Just because it worked before, does not mean that your software didn't get an uptade that will now make it do so.

    If you want a better opinion, I'm going to need more information.

    unless you absolutely desire Arc:

    go to the install directory (on my machine it is: C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\PWI_en_3\element)

    locate "elementclient.exe" and right click it.

    choose the option "create shortcut" or "send to -> desktop (create shortcut)"
    run the game from that shortcut.

    This will get your game working until they decide to make Arc compulsory, which at current point it is only required as a download manager but not to run the game.

    I am having a problem with an error acurring when i have it downloaded but when i try to open the game it says i need to report a software error can anyone help me with this? I would have started a new thread but im new so banned for three days

    It's most likely your antivirus causing an issue....

    I tried to reinstall with my antivirus off and it still says the same thing. can u please turn me to someone who can help me fix the issue

    I had this problem on my 1st install to. Arc install a download manage that is not always added to the firewall rules, Then when you launch arc, it check for update and the file manage get a denied access, and arc close.

    Change the message setting of your firewall so you can click the ok button, or add the rule yourself. It should work.

    What I did was uninstall arc, reboot and run Arc installer has administrator. It was then able to do the 1st update and then work fine.
