PWI is NOT working via Arc system

Ok heres the thing, I ran the update for pwi using the ARC, after it finished updating it had a mini window pop-up for the content update checker thing, then it disappeared.... after it did so, the game did NOT run. When I checked back in the ARC, I noticed it had disappeared from my list of games. Im currently on my second re-download of the game via the ARC, any idea as to whats happening ?

p.s. I have restarted my computer after each download and I still cant play.......help

    i would just like to say that i have finally been able to install pwi without it being removed from my computer. thanks alot to the gm's/cm's/people for ur useless support in helping me when i needed it the most. ive been playing for 5 years now and hardly ask for help when it comes to issues such as what ive had. i know this may be a rant and a complaint to most, but i will never ask for help on the forums ever again, even if i cant play pwi ever again ill stop playing it if need be. thank you for reading this and have a wonderful day.

    ^you have one post... where have you explicitly asked for help before?

    at any rate - most people either have a non-arc version of PWI or else if they do have arc.. browse to the install directory and create a shortcut of "elementclient.exe" on the desktop. By running this shortcut, the patcher will come up as per pre-arc versions that launched via "launcher.exe". Arc is just a download manager at this point in time, it isn't compulsory to run the game - nor do I think it ever will be.

    If you cant manually locate the file, try doing a windows search for it.

    then stop using arc system then open the game in folder

    C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\PWI_en\element

    and open elementclient.exe and go play

    works even if you have arc the game it installs is same diff
    my elementclient.exe opens patcher all the time now idk why :P

    so when game is updated already I open it 2x and alt ctrl del end task the patcher

    ^yeah.. that was what I was saying precisely. whether you have arc or not - you can run from elementclient.exe - which is how people dual client.

    Ok soo I'm admittedly a pwi noob but my bf has been playing for three years. Needless to say I needed to download arch to get pwi. I know how to open it separately from the arch by going into my C:drive & element folder, but it won't let me log on with my arch log on..not sure why?? I wanted to do this because we tried to play together (I was on pwi through arch & he was on pre-arch pwi) and we couldn't locate each other, even though we created new characters of the same race and spawned in the same area..I couldn't see him & he couldn't see me. So I guess basically I'm wondering if the pre-arch pwi and pwi with arch are compatible or not, or if there is a way I could create a pwi log-in outside of arch?? Any help would be great..thanks! :)

    After about a week of not being able to get this game to load I do believe I am at my wits end with it. PWI has gotten my money through game play and after waiting a couple days for a response to fixing it, still no answers from tech support. Glitches abound this atrocity right from the **** system they use to even load this game. Once you do finally get it to load if you're so lucky you will find more glitches. New instances seem to work right for about a day then they get added into the fray of things not working. Worse to me is that the tech support people do not have a clue. They always ask you to send things that will have nothing to do with the problem. I guess they feel it is better if they make you feel like an idiot about even getting it to work instead of fixing this ARC **** or anything else that would make for better gaming or any gaming through PWI at all at this point. Anyone have any non PWI suggestions of a game that actually loads so my money and time is not wasted on this one?

Ever since the expansion came out each time when I run PWI from Arc it keeps repatching and updating, so it takes me basically about 4-5 mins before I can start the game each time. Is there a way around it? Shouldn't it just patch initially and then be done? b:sad
