What would you upgrade first to NW if had the chance to? Your r9 ring or your cube neck and why would you do it

    Depends on the rest of your gear, my cube neck was +10 and only first stage so the cost to upgrade a new neck and refine it was high so I went with the r9 ring upgrade first. The r9 ring upgrade is great you can't really go wrong with something that refines for both mdef and pdef. I am working on upgrading my +4 cloud stir next before moving onto making a new neck.

    If I had nothing to start with I would have gone with the neck as it provides some good defense levels, the R9 ring upgrade would be better if you already have good defense. Do some calculations to work out which will provide the most benefit for you and go with that option.

    For the cost of getting a g16 Cube Neck to even upgrade it, you can just upgrade the ring instead.

    Refining the ring gives more total defenses than refining the neck.

    The defenses you get for upgrading and refining r9 ring is phenomenal. The upgraded cube neck is also very good, but the cost for getting it to g16 THEN upgrading it is a lot more than the ring.

    Well if I had to do it again, it'd still depend on whatever gear I had at the time. For ex.. if I had a +11 g14 cube neck, nw neck would probably not be top of the list. It'd make a lot more sense to just go for recast r9 ring or something of the like. I think it's a little silly to generalize which piece of gear should come first.. it entirely depends on what you currently have.

    Ring, i think. Even if your necklace is unrefined you can slightly refine it for free and run with it for a while with at least some defence. Then upgrading and refining ring will add up. Besides ring costs more and it's better to start with harder part, will be easier and faster to recast neck later.
