I was thinking about making a R9rr toon, however i am not certain which class i should start.

I would like to be able to use this toon in NW and be able to accompany my farming sin.

Currently i farm with a fairly well geared sin (+12s2 dag, w/aps gear) and I NW with a fairly well geared veno (+10 s3).

Well this leaves veno/BM/cleric/barb as your options depending on your TT farming squad set-up. Pick which one you like best.

Be cautious though. Pwi ussually upgrades their gears every 1-2 years. It's been almost one and a half years since r9rr has been released. If I were you, I would just get g16 nirvy and wait for the next expansion. Instead of doing all that work to be possibly op for 1-2 months. As for farming r9rr gl with that.

How would a mystic or seeker do in NW and as an extra with my sin on TT runs?

Seeker would be about useless in TT. Mystic would be...okay? But you'd be better off with a cleric if you want something to heal you in TT.

Both are fine for NW, but given your criteria, you're looking solely at the classes I listed in my first post.

well if they DO come out with a rank 10, you will more than likely need to have r9rr+300k rep (maybe more) anyway.

You don't need an R9rr cleric for TT lol
Grab a R8r def level wep and regular G15/G16 gear and it's all you need for a BB slave.

You need R8r/G15 to do TT on a cleric? O_o

    Optimally lol

I mean yea; G13 wep and TT99 robes are enough but with R8r + G15/G16 it's, um, useful as a TW cleric too?

Seeker would be about useless in TT.

seeker would actually be semi-decent, pull+vortex all mobs and then you can macro the -def lvls buff on bosses for extra DD

Not sure, but as far as I remember they had 9 ranks in ancient China.. b:question So if the number of the races is capped at 5 (5 elements), so it would be logical to only have 9 ranks in the game, due to tradition. But I may be wrong of course.

not sure what you mean by ranks but yeah, the number 9 is highly regarded.
for example, they had rules about the number of dragons you can have depicted in your robes with only the emperor being allowed to have 9 (and even then, one was (partially?) hidden).

on the other hand the peachblossom ritualist has something to say...

    Found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine-rank_system
So nine ranks of civil service... That's why I doubt about r10.

    interesting. however:
Those directly under the Emperor heading the top departments were considered First Pin (Grade), and those who are county judicial officers, for example, were generally Ninth Pin. Some of the nine grades were further divided into zh

Mystic is good, but it's one of those class that you can't really use with macros, if you look for a char to follow and that you don't need to control constantly than maybe seeker or something else.

Yep, reversed system. But I just made an assumption, as I can't know how they are going to develop this game, of course :) And if they introduce r10, I'm just afraid to think what it will be like, as r9 is already god-mode.

Yeah the core idea of number nine being special is pretty solid.

I think that the next step is to add a new mechanic of resisting debuffs and/or magic. something like 1 resistance level = 1% chance to evade a debuff (before it reaches stuff like tidal) while 1 penetration level = 1% chance to activate a debuff associated with the skill you casted. e.g. lvl10 earth vector has 85% chance to stun; with 5 penetration levels it now has 90% chance to stun. but if the target has 20 resistance level it only has 70% chance to stun.
alternatively it could be multiplied; in the example above, it has 0.85*1.05=89% chance to stun in the first case while in the second case it has 0.85*(1+0.05-0.2) = 72% chance to stun.

second mechanic is more balanced tbh and can't be broken by stacking a ton of penetration/resistance levels for complete immunity (diminishing effects).

while it looks completely broken, there are a few games that already have it and it's not /that/ OP really..

Mobs die so fast to sin or BM that I wouldn't even bother bringing a second char just to kill them.

It's hard to say what PWE will do about giving us, or not giving, an R10.

But with that out of the picture, I think a Seeker will suit you best.

I suppose you could try a Wizard or Psychic, but those will have much less survivability compared to a seeker. But on the other hand, they are total nuke classes at r9rr.
