Unable to take Screenshot

Hello guys,

It might be not the most serious problem out there, however it has been bugging me. I have reinstalled PWI and now I cannot take ingame screenshots. Either when pressing "Print screen" or F9 -> take screenshot. Blue text "Screenshot saved" appears every time, however no screenshot is added to the PWI_en/element/screenshots folder. I tried looking at 'My pictures' and 'My documents' but there was nothing. Currently I have to take whole desktop screenshot and then crop the game window.

Any ideas, suggestions?

    I imagine you never fully uninstalled pwi last time and are looking in the wrong folder; a remnant of the previous installation

    You might want to make sure the cursor isnt blinking in the textbox for when you want to type in normal, fac, worldchat. If it is, hit escape and try take the screenie. Should solve your prob.

    He said it says screenshot saved so that isn't the issue

    Previously I had PWI client in C:/Perfect World Entertainment Now it is in C:/Program Files/Games/Perfect World Entertainment. There are no remnaints of previous instalation. I have hidden folder C:/Arc Temp, However it is empty as well.

    Try to search your screenshot by it's name on whole hard drive where the game is installed. I had same issue opening the game using elementclient.exe instead of launcher (somewhere at AppData/Local...). Or, if you need just one ss, PrtScr, open mspaint and paste it there.

    Nice tip. I did run a search and it appears screenshots are stored at C:\Users\Remigijus\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Games\Perfect World Entertainment\PWI_en\element\screenshots

    Instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Perfect World Entertainment\PWI_en\element\screenshots which is way easier to access.

    Then I get two questions out of this. 1. Why there are two 'screenshots' folders? 2.Any ideas how to make 2nd folder dafault folder where screenshots are saved?

    This i don't know, unfortunately. And as i said it happens only if i start game using elementclient.exe and i do it just to multiclient. When i start game from launcher, screenshots save where they should, so basically yes, i have 2 ss folders. But since i know where they are located it's a negligible issue.

    1. Odd. I have Arc, and I run the client bot with it, and without. I don't have any screenshots saved the that first folder. That folder doesn't even exist. (Path stops at the VirtualStore folder.)

    What flavor of windows are you running?

    As for the second, I'll go look into it right now.

    Edit: Ok, did a thorough search through all of the Arc config files, the client config files, and even searched for pointers inside of the other files.
    In %\PWI_en\element\info\1.0.txt there is the value that tells client to save the screenshot in \element\screenshots. I do not recommend making any changes to this file without using the proper code tool. Later when I've gotten some sleep, I might poke at it some more.

    I am using win 8. As I mentioned I had PWI at C:/Perfect World. PWI wouldn't apear in Control panel so I Shift+delete'd the folder and reinstalled game in C:/Program Files(x86)/Games/PWI. Maybe that had something to do with the issue. However once it was in C:/Perfect World it stored screenshots in proper folder. Also I have unistaled Arc aswell since it is useless software.
