    you can use the font of the words "death gate" to tell you where the living gates are. but thats all im gonna say

    Actually this is worse luck. That's a friend's meridian he posted in our faction website. Only 4 living gates, 4 gates left.

    depends on how you define worst luck.

    the chance to open all the dead gates is a!(48-a)!/48! where a is the number of living gates.
    for a=1 that's 1/48 or ~2% while for a=4 it's 1/194580 which is way more rare.

    however, from a cost-to-open-the-gate point of view, it's cheaper to open all the dead gates in a a>1 stage than in a a=1 state.

    xD Oh good, I'm not the only one who has had this trouble. I believe my psy's meridian is a lovely red indeed, I might never find the Gate at all. So painful!!!!

    Had the same not so long ago, atm it hates me even more stuck where you need to get 2 open gates in a row @ GV 16 >.>

    Heard about this before.
    The Size of the death gate is meant to give an indication to where the Open one is located;
    Closer you are, bigger the death gate sign.
    Though in practise I've not seen any difference at all.

    anyone got any more speculation on it?

    It's actually farther you are, the closer you are. Don't want to be near DEATH GATE and death GATE/DEATH gate tells you which direction to go to.... while death gate says that you are near the "open" or "life"... At least i think

    Sounds like a bunch of ****.

    There's a pattern to these gates and the pictures in this thread shows it clearly.

    I'm not fully sure though since I haven't done all the cycles, but it's pretty consistent.

    The pattern is simple. There is one gate to open

    There are 48 gates total.

    It will take you 48 tries to get it.

    i'm curious if there is anything to the font size, I have noticed that the font size is not always the same.

    Someone had a hypothesis that the bigger the letters - the closer you are @ an open gate, I tested this throughout, so far I didn`t find any correlation to this, small or big letters, still was the same 1 unopened gate you have big letters, the next 1 really small, but they should have some purpose, otherwise why make it like that.

    Yeah I tried testing it too but it didn't really work. Sometimes I get OPEN GATE in small letters or LIFE GATE in small letters. It seems to be random so far.. o.o

    When you hit Death Gate, pay attention to the font, it varies, smaller and bigger letters.
