1. Read the minimum requirements for the game.
2. Does your PC meet or exceed that?
3. Your answer is solved.
(Also, the game doesn't slow down your PC, it's your PC that slows down the game when it can't handle what the game is asking for.)
Rule of thumb: If it was made in the past 5 years, doesn't have low-end hardware like integrated video chips, and has enough memory overhead for the client with the OS needs, it will likely run the game just fine. You will just need to adjust the display setting appropriately.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
No it will speed it up.b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Series 5? I have a Series 5 Ultra Touch with Intel HD Graphics 4000 and the game runs just fine. Even without the newest Intel graphics driver which would improve performance...0

and it doesn't make ur laptop any slower? that's my main concern since i could get into huge fights with my bro that im ruining the laptop with pwi0 -
Any slowdowns over time won't be caused by PWI. Windows by itself may collect various clutter over time which may slow down your system. The fact you play PWI on it won't change it either way.0

Your reply would have been more helpful and less condescending, had you offered a link in your opening statement! As written, your response sounds rather demeaning.
THIS May have been a better opening statement:
1. Read the minimum requirements for the game at http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download (scroll down to the bottom of the page)
You can generally JUDGE a persons level of technical knowledge by the question they ask. If you intend to offer your insight, it would have more value if you didn't introduce additional confusion. Based on this persons question and how it was asked, I would presume the inclusion of the link for "minimum requirements" would have been more helpful.
For what it's worth, I have run the game with integrated graphics on laptops and PC's with no problem! Obviously a dedicated card is preferred, for heightened satisfaction; but certainly NOT a requirement!!
You completely disregarded the biggest issue (imho) regarding whether the game can be played, which is the type if network connection. Dialup is an absolute no-no! DSL is capable, BUT BROADBAND is listed as the minimum required and PREFERRED.0 -

Personally, if you aren't intelligent enough to read the requirements when you are considering to play, you might want to go back to school. You can't judge anyone's technical knowledge by how they ask, some are techy but lazy as hell. (I know a few of those personally.)
If you don't have a clue about how your existing system compares to what the minimum system requirements are, then you need to go do some research. If you're too lazy/stupid to do that, you're going to suck anyway and might as well give up now.
Judging from other posts, people are dumb enough to attempt playing on a cell phone with a 7kb bandwidth and then wonder why they disconnect every time they go into Archosaur.
Moral. If you don't know, figure it out. You'll learn something along the way and make yourself a better person. Or you can just join the ever-growing mass of compete idiots that are ruining it for everyone else.
I don't see SylenThunder's response as condescending. It's short, frank, and to the point.
Also, I'd like to see you play PWI on an Intel GMA 3100.0 -

First and foremost, understand that I intended no insult to SylenThunder! If you search my username in forums, you will discover I often support, reinforce or add to his information.
"Judging from other posts, people are dumb enough to attempt playing on a cell phone with a 7kb bandwidth and then wonder why they disconnect every time they go into Archosaur."
Obviously, anyone attempting to play ANY graphic intense game on a cell phone (or any subpar device) is not going to have ANY technical understanding. This does not make them "DUMB"! They simply have too little technical experience to understand hardware limitations.
Some people understand hardware limitations, but lack technical understanding of networks and throughput. It is not until a person has a need for something, that they will even begin to inquire about the necessary information.
I know as well as anyone in these forums, that SylenThunder offers his insight out of his desire to help others. I (as an experienced tech support person) also know how frustrating it can be to communicate with novices. Thus, my comment directed to SylenThunder was not intended as an attack on his info, it was an attempt to suggest the "Tech Guru" could improve his bedside manner and remember who his target audience is.0
