I currently have a level 53 assassin and its so hard to level i take like 400 damage per hit and my assassin build is 1 str 4 dex so at the moment i have about 218 dex and 18 vit from gear bonuses am i doing something wrong that is causing me to take so much damage 400+ my physical defense is 36% damage reduction and 39% elemental reduction

Dunno much about assasins, arent you supposed to:

-kill them before they kill you
    -stun them
-shadow escape if above fails ?

Taking damage is for barbs :)
Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.

that is just the way it is. I had no problems being a pure dex build all the way up to 102. Use pots or get a barb

Not true. I was able to pull PV after level 59 on my sin.

What you need: good damage-good bp returns

up to date armor, up to date defenses.

    Good situation recognition, fast reaction.

i.e. Use sleep to interrupt a mob about to poison you, keeping up focused mind and wolf emblem, the tackling slash trick--for all mobs; casting mobs do a lot less dps when casting, archer mobs do 50% dmg when frozen in place. By this I mean tackling slash and then teleporting right under it. Mob will be trying to move to hit you the entire duration of the freeze.

Spark liberally. You have near infinite chi. Even if you get hit hard you can simply recover the damage by BP heals

At 53 without dreamchaser (which for your ease you really ought to have): http://pwcalc.com/d9e1a91afc0c8905

At 56 make sure you have Cloud Thorn even if your Wep Token quest did not return that mold. It's cheap enough. The heal and purify effect is awesome.

It becomes easier and easier as your damage output grows disproportionately to the damage you take. For me the turn around was in my 50s, but level 20-50 sucked. Levels 1-20 were intentionally made easy since TBs were released later than the original 6 classes so they give high exp and easier mobs so the TB race could get to archo and catch up, but once in archo the issue of being an LA melee class shows since the mobs hit you harder than your paint heals.

Kill a mob or two, then stunlock the 3rd and recover your hp. Repeat. Shouldn't be hard. Like I said, at around 50-80 (depending on the player and gear) it turns around where you start healing as much or more than the damage you are taking. Its a balance that starts against you but then tips in your favor mid-to-endgame.

Seriously? No mention of permasparking? A level 53 'sin is more than capable of it already.

Just make good use of your skills as an Assassin. Auto-attacking will not pay off till later. Also, you can get daily charms till 60(you can still get them on 60, but it's the last level)

when I was doing culti quests I tried to use skills... yet it was quite the hp burn. double spark> pew pew proved way more efficient (plus tackling/RDS for chi (and tackling for kiters))

squad-wise, just learn to managed your aggro (and not leeroy mobs)

but yeah, free charms free gear lol, new players have no reason to say it's hard

autoattacking is good but if it's questing I usually turn on CotD and skillspam once every few mobs, just to make things a bit more lively and to hit nice big crits.

atm highest recorded hit was on a mob in wraithgate area for 11.6K slipstream strike on my level 68 sin

That's crazy u having problems leveling. I leveled my sin to 74 with just quests alone, then started to find ff squads and got to 86 with no problem. Just the other day, at level 84 I did the pulls in the halls cuz the barb and seeker didn't know what they were doing. Then again, I have high hp gear. TT80 all 4 sock with immacs, Hallucinatory 4 sock robe with perfects, WOE 4 sock with 4 vit stones +10 from my BM I borrowed 2 sock hook n thorn with perfect garnets +6 I got for 5m from someone. I have 8k+ hp with my barbs demon barb buffs. I added a few extra points onto my vit only cuz I wasn't sure if I would be able to get good gear. I'll get a reset later to minus out some vit, no biggie.

But just doing the quests that have high exp will get you leveled quick.

Life Powder, Chaos Powder, Orb of Vibrating Light, and Flourish Orb (among other player made apothecary items) make life for especially low level assassins much easier.

This was my daily routine to level quick.

Pick up your PW School Teacher(not only do you get reflective shards, mystical pills too)

    Pick up your crazy stones

Get some high exp quests done

    Start your world quest(550k+ exp)

The world quest stops you at the daily spot for mystical pills, takes 2 min.

    Finish the world quest

    Do your BH's

Turn in your crazy stones and world quest, go into reflective.

By the end of the day, you will have leveled. Especially at your level, maybe even level twice with the world quest and crazy stones alone. Then let reflective do it's thing. you may even level again. I reached my 70's in no time and I did all this when I got home from work between 7pm to 10:30pm and did more on the weekends. Good luck, you can do it.

Level 53s don't get to do world quest (paperclip for villa), that's a level 70+ daily.

Well minus that out till 70+. With all the other questing that can get done, no reason why leveling fast can't happen. Crazy stones, school teacher, and reflective gives more than enough exp at that level to level once a day. Get some bh's done and your good to go. Once you hit 70, start world questing. And of course, with all the pleveling going on, you can always opt for that. Pleveling will take you from 53-at least 60 with just the big room alone. Find a full run and hyper from the beginning and you should hit mid 60's in no time. I rather have fun questing than to plevel, but thats another option.

I started a new Sin on Morai server ~3 weeks ago. Started with nothing and now I got something like this: http://pwcalc.com/e994a491e0160dc7
Some of its sharded and refined better then what is shown cause I don't remember exactly what I got in it and I can't get on game right now. On top of that I got ~3 mil coins left after getting that gear.

I see why you feel that Sin's are hard to play right now, you're squishy with low hp and probably pretty bad gear (cause I can't imagine you having a hard time with Dreamchaser gear), but trust me it gets better :) If you follow the tips already posted by others in this thread you'll have a lot better time even at your level.

Some things I might add (sry if someone ells already said this):

Get Dreamchaser gear if you didn't already. It's starting to be a bit outdated at that lvl but it's still the best over-all you can get in the 50's. Here's the link to redeem site: http://pwi.perfectworld.com/redeem
Codes are: BAP3D6J and K4BPWMH (I hope they are still valid)

Do Bounty Orders from Jolly Old Jones. It's a good extra income for you and money you can spend into better gear/skills. An alternative is to save all your bounty order until lvl 71-80 and do all of them (it's possible since last content update) for max profit.

And the most important thing of all: Do ALL quests. If you have leveled past them still do them. Go back to the lower ones, they will be a lot easier and will give you a lot of coins/EXP.

This is what I've done and you see what I've accomplished with it. It's not great, but it's more then enough for my needs right now. And as an end note, I did not use Dreamchaser or did my Bounty Orders (gonna start digging into my 100+ stack when I hit 71 x.x) so it's more then possible to level with ease without those perks :)

Oh, and I almost forgot. Get to know the market. Check catshops for low priced item you can re-sell. Do the same with AH. Check out some of the countless merchant guides out there (this is a must read: http://warrenwolfy.wordpress.com/) and start make big money ;) It helps tremendously. Just the other day I found an Axe in a catshop for 800k and turned it around for 3mil. So big money can be made with minimal work :)

(This is starting to sound like a bragging post, but I'm actually trying to be helpfull xD)

n nether back then ppl had good gears which r available these days for free...
mostly had mob dropped armors n most of the noncsing starters back then had those type of gears b:laugh

uum if you are 66 you are obviously not using tt70 weapon/armor. (tt70 armor kinda sucks for the price btw).

in any case, it's normal. bosses are rarely supposed to be soloed and you might even need a proper tank beside a healed (what's the boss' name?)
