I think pwi should add new class for using pike or poleblade because these weapon are useless in pw now. Of course, bm can use it, but their main weapons are either fist/claw and axes.

Unfortunately, since a class can utilize those weapons, I don't think they would create a whole new class just for those weapons.

yes...since they created seeker who mastering sword and nearly no bm is using sword now (useless and wasting of money)...so I think they should do something like what they have been done for seeker0

All path bms FTW... especially for delta. It is sadly harder to notice their... relevance anywhere else, but each skill absolutely can be real useful depending on the situation. Albeit it is the ultimate skill of each of the paths that shine the most. (though each the pike, and sword paths have a real bad *** knockback skill if used correctly)
Anyways all that aside... and I do indeed realize you weren't really saying that a bm couldn't do any of that... it did seem like you were kind of bashing them. Though regardless of how badass they are in pve... I do find them to be insanely lackluster in mass pvp scenarios. (that is a discussion for another thread)

I had a lunchables today. I had two actually. I love capri suns, we need 2 liter bottles of those. Also, let's have classes that use only claws and poles and such. make the pole class female only and claws male only. The guys can fist and the girls can handle poles. It's not sexual.0

New classes would be neat, but there's apparently no room for them in the PWI coding or some BS(I have no idea)
But if we were to have new classes, let's just throw them in with existing races. Say a pole class for TBs(giving them a HA class), and a fist class for Untamed(with no sex restrictions)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I don't think the problem is that they need new classes to use those weapons, I think they need to balance the classes they have so those weapons are more attractive.
All the original classes can already equip every weapon and every armor in the game (except xbows and slingshots) That being the case, lift some of the skill restrictions or give new skills to certain classes that utilize those weapons. I never understood why barbs HAD to use only axes and hammers for their skills when claws seem as appropriate, sacrifice damage for attack speed. Or give clerics the options of using poleblades and have a paladin style class similar kind of to how HA venos work now. The potential is there and some players have already tried experimenting with it but PWI is the one that has to follow through.
The other issue is that many players now a days don't really understand the relationships between the weapons themselves and simply equip what everyone else is equipping. Fists go w/o question, they are 5 aps able. But the difference between duel axes and poleaxes is quite interesting in how it lets barbs and BMs work, yet I see everyone take dual axes because of the increased damage, not realizing that poleaxes do more than just give a higher attack speed. The same is true of the other weapons, they all have their quirks and uses that not only affect base attributes and damage ranges but also take advantage of differences in slightly different builds.0 -

Yup and that ''new'' class will use fist to be 5 APS. I know some BM that use the pole (if I'm not wrong) in !v1 for purge, so it's not totally useless, it's just that people want APS, APS and APS and don't use other weapons.
They should made a new class that APS magic damage with fist...

Daggers and Spheres are class specific, and have no variance in equipment. As such I see them as nothing more than a part of that class and has no real place in weapon type discussion. They might as well not exist as far as how the original weapons system was set up. Heck even archers have a choice in types of range weapon they can equip, and seekers and mystics were adapted into the original system.
As far as APS is concerned its not going away, heck their "nerf" was a joke specifically designed so they could say they did something without actually doing something. That right there was the point where PWI basically said 5APS was here to stay, so if they are going to make a weapon system attractive they would have to focus on PvP. Fair and balanced farming has long since been dead and its corpse rotted to nothing but dust years ago.0 -

Well APS is not always the best farming option, it depends on the dungeon. They made an alternative option to APS farming - Seekers. If youre farming Bosses, APS are great. If youre farming mobs as well or anti-aps bosses, seeker is a better option.
It is unbalanced since Sins, Seekers, Barbs and BMs have a huge advantage because of BP and/or APS. Especially AAs need to have decent gear to even get the same chance in most cases. But actually this is the same in most games.
IMO nerfing APS wouldnt make it more balancing since it would just take a bit longer. Nerfing them AND make older instances AA-Friendly (like Nirvana)would make a difference....
I think if we get new classes, their exp would be increased so they can rush to 101 and get r9 and a new dungeon would be like "A harder version of Warsong for 100+ players to make their OP gear more OP, cuz we made r9r4 lolz"I like potatoes <(O~O)>0 -
I'd rather have them modify skills or the weapons themselves to make them more useful than make a whole new class, that seems impossible anyway with the game's coding and all.

When ppl looking for more members for WS, LUNAR, TT,.. so on, if you pm them your weapon, a poleblade, for sure you wont get invited because no one need a poleblade bm. Yes, so either pwi should make a new class to utilize this kind of weapon or give bm more skill to make poleblade bm is useful for squad or any dungeon0

pwi make it so bms can switch weapons for a reason.you only purge once #yopo0 -
A very good friend of mine is an amazing Pole BM, and I have yet to see anyone give him **** for being so. f:angry
Pole BMs are still incredibly good and useful at what they do (granted, as long as they know what they're doing, like any class). So, I don't really see a need to an entire new class for a Polearm. People just need to expand their horizons and not be so close-minded.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I have a friend as well who is a Pole BM who is now working with a sword regardless of the Seeker dominating it. I see nothing wrong with this in fact I'm sad you don't see them as often even though the smithy clearly has a closet full of weapons they can use. So a whole new class just for the pole is so-so. Frankly I'd just like to see new weapon designs, colors etc.
If anything a scythe weapon/ring blade (yes, Soul Calibur ftw.) Or perhaps a class that uses a shield. Might be interesting.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I am inclined to agree with the majority of those that have already posted. there really is no need for new classes.
as for bms, they are not only fist/axe... spears and swords are quite useful. the purge spear is really handy at times (it's rather fun to purge venos ) and there are some bosses that cannot be hfed (example: various bosses in nirvana as well as the arch attack event bosses).
I personally tend to favor sword against mages in pvp... mss can be a real life saver, and can even one shot most non-r9 mages when it crits, unless they are built to intentionally withstand physical assaults.
as for seekers dominating the sword path... that is debatable, but this really isn't the thread to debate such lol
and lastly, I am sorry for not using the quotations application. I'm feeling particularly lazy today after work :P0 -
imo: add the mere 4 pole skills onto axe/hammer instead. Make refine / imbue transfer free of charge for poles and offer npc service to convert pole to axe/hammer. Most BMs are too lazy to change weapons to use the occasionally useful pole skills, and the multi-weapon BM ends up being expensive like venos with multi legendary pets. Add chance of purify to a single target semi spam-able skill like Stream Strike.
edit: forgot about the issue of those who leveled pole mastery (I'm one of those). There are many ways that issue could be resolved though.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
Yes. Make new classes + make leveling more traditional + advertise more. Questing is fun, but not fun when you are the only person doing it at a given time (which currently is the majority of the time).
Game is dying, fix it or drop it.
However, it's not even up to the International team to decide >.<

Exactly!. That nerf was to satisfy the low-aps people, that somehow they were getting an advantage. But in reality, having 5 aps, even with the nerf, is still preferrable farming. I do, however, think its interesting to see sins, for example, who have two sets of gear, aps gear for their individual farming, and their DPH gear for PvP. And more creativity is being created as a result... sins are not all build the same anymore.... well most, but not all
The rising interest of becoming a sage BM also demonstrates this. I've enjoyed being a sage BM during an era when it was all "demon HF all the way." Now sage is finally getting some recognition.
The game needs to continue to get tweaked. And creating balance between classes, i would imagine, is much harder to accomplish that we would think. No one really knows for sure what creative minds will take advantage of certain combos that couldn't be foreseen when a skill alteration is implemented.
I'm not sure we really need more classes. Ten different class options is enough. What we want is to enjoy the main characters we have chosen and have them continue to be advanced through skill additions/modifications, and create more variety in how we need to respond to new instance or environment challenges.0 -

How many wishes do I have? 3?
1. I want the ability to change weapons/gear with macros. I even want the ability to put genie and instant skills into macro, without interupting it.

2. If a class can learn a mastery for a kind of weapon, they should also be able to get a Rank 9 version for it. And yes, I want fist mastery for barbs, the already benefit less (when they are str or vit build) then other classes by their unique add-on (very rare zerk-crit in comparison to seekers/bms.
3. Rebalance demon barbs please. We are waiting for months now. Make more skills availabie in humanoid AND tiger/panda form. And reduce the requirement of chi. The skills which are worth to cast require 1-2 sparks. This makes me staying a minute after death in NW at respawn spot and casting my HP buff. I hate that. Most battles are 1/2/3 vs 1/2/3 and are over after 2-3 minutes.

Honestly, the only possible new class idea I've ever come up with that'd have any purpose is a form of cavalry, some class that made use of mounted attacks, with summoned mounts like mystics have pets, usable in dungeons. That would likely also embrace the poleblades, considering the traditional use of lances by mounted infantry.
Having said that, I think it's a cool idea, and it's unnecessary. The game is decently rounded as it is, implementing that idea would be unnecessarily painful for the coders (if any of those still exist), and it would A: require an entire reworking of the game's codebase to support more classes (again, using the coders who likely were fired in China years ago and replaced with minimum wage labor), and B: invite a complete rebalance of the existing classes to work with the new ones.
Long story short? Never gonna happen. Too much work for them and the PWI playerbase will just keep griping that we need 8000 more classes to somehow fit each person's exact dream build and make it horribly op, while nerfing everyone else. Be happy with what you have, it works.0
