Having issues with the veno instance

Ok, apparently i fail at it lol.

So, like half the time now the 2nd guard won't work. I haven't done more then 3 guards. It's not easy to do lol.

and the dino pet how the heck do u kill it. it's hp rises quick and yes i can purge/soul degen and still go up. and the cactus?

    Purge the dino and Soul Degen the cactus. They are supposed to die by the guards but if you don't have many guards up they won't die.

    The amount of guards you need to kill them depend on the wave you're at; I think the higher the wave the higher HP the special monsters have so the more guards you need. I don't have proof but it sounds reasonable to me.

    What do you mean by saying "the second guard won't work" ? Also, have you seen any of the video demonstrations by any chance?

    Like i hit like i would the first guard aoe the (?) and it won't turn on if you will like the first guard and yeah one of them by RankNine i think it was.

    I still get crappy results.

    and as for the dino i can purge it and the hp will still go up.

    When you purge it you not only remove the heal over time, but the HP buff (and a couple other buffs, haven't looked at them closely, I presume defense buffs) so the HP rises due to the removal of the HP buff.

    I could only suggest watching http://youtu.be/bWomansley's video of the instance doing it in non-pk mode.
    It's not as easy but it's do-able nevertheless.


    Only thing I can think of with the guard not activating is no having reached 100 credit yet (100 credit per guard activation).

    I've had it glitch, and guards not switch mode even though they're in the AOE.

    I've not had them fail to activate that way, but I'd assume it can happen just the same.

    Frankly, I've settled for just idling and getting the 27 tokens.

    I'm one of those that wanna 'perfect it' or close. I want the skills and stuff lol.

    Maybe that's it not 100 credits but hmm

    I do it in Pk mode cuz its easier :D

    The thing with this instance is that you can't make a single mistake. As soon as you make one, you lose credits and it won't let you activate a new guard (each guard costs 100 credits).

    I always use ctrl + click to switch the guards, I find it a lot easier than trying to tab the invisible mob.

    As for the rewards, I did the instance at least 30 times with getting over 400 credits and I never got a pet skill book, so I guess it's extremely rare. =/

    According to PWdatabase, there's a .01% chance of getting either a bless scroll or claw scroll instead of a feral soul star per star on the 400-699 score reward level, going up to a .03% chance for a score of 700+. The bewitch squirrel skillbook has a .04% chance to be awarded instead of a feral soul star (per feral soul star check) for a perfect score, for a real drop rate of just over 1%.

    Wow, I didn't think the chances would be so low. But after all, this -is- PWE. f:despise

    I would prefer a pet skill book to the the veno skill book, so I'll just make sure my score is between 400 and 699 hehe.

    You have a better chance for the pet skill scroll at 700+, and getting a perfect score does not affect the chance of getting the pet skill scrolls.
