Is Glacial Walker still the best overall non-legendary pet before endgame?

    Anyone that says yes or no isn't giving you a correct answer. What is it best for?

    Definitely not best for:

    Luring
    DD
    Range
    Flying
    Swimming
    Speed
    Being unobtrusive

    When it comes to tanking; it's merely arguable.

    I can't say it's best for anything.

    The question was "best overall", not "best in specialty x, y or z".

    A bee can be used in the air and on land, has higher attack with the same atk rate, gets overall higher possible digits when evolving by far. It's 2.6 faster. It's less obtrusive. Is multiple times better for pvp.

    If you want a tank pet with good DD, your choices are the magmites or the walker, and the walker is marginally better than the magmites. If you have more slots open in your pet bag, you can fill them with specialists to cover your tank pet's deficiencies, but if you have only one land pet, the walker is one of the best choices. (Other considerations, such as cuteness or uniqueness, may lead you to use something else as primary pet, such as the cub or a beetle.)

    Walker or gtfo for tanking
    Scorpion or wanderer for land DD
    Sawfly for air DD
    Plumpfish for water DD

    Not long ago, venos were arguing that Hercs (ultimate tank pet) were worthless in instances. I was probably the only one arguing for it's use (but in that argument; it's speed is a factor).

    I believe most if not all other venos would agree that a bee would be better because it is far more useful for it's ability to be used in the air. -It can even be used on quest mobs in water if they're not too deep. It is also as said: many times better for PvP.

    If you're going to be sitting behind a pet spam healing anyway: you may as well use a better DD pet. If there's something it can't tank yet: you could wait an appropriate amount of levels til it can.

    There's more than one way to tank, and with ranged pets you get some of the best luring and tanking. Ranged pets can hit some air mobs from the ground, or other players while flying away. Any ranged pet is also faster and less obtrusive.

    Magmites and Walkers are among the worst pets for "over-all".

    Walker is the toughest pet outside of cash shop

    That makes it incredibly reliable throughout 19-100. At 100 ofc you switch to a decorative all-class pet or get the new cash shop pets.

    An evolved walker gets a 30 defense level buff, which is nothing to sneer at (special skill of the magmites has not yet been reported.)

    -It's only 20 def levels, but we're talking "before endgame". No one I know is using this crappy pet at 100+ anyway (even venos using tt99 weapons).

    I'm not saying a Glacial Walker is worthless for a non legendary owner. If you have maximum pet slots, and don't plan to get a legendary soon; by all means get one. I wouldn't however have one as your only pet, invest in it, spend days leveling it, evolve it, or tell people it's the best non-legendary pet.

    Furthermore; if you were to get a herc; just like before: your walker becomes worthless.

    And what's about Hatchling (Dino pet from Morai)?
    I though he is the best free pet.

    My data on that spreadsheet came from PWCN/BRChannel so I don't know if they were possibly tweaked for our version.

    It's fast, pretty hardy, and unobtrusive. It's limited to land and non range. It's dd is slanted more toward pve, and is very good for that (one hitting mobs that nix has to derpa derpa on). I wouldn't consider it well rounded or best over-all, but it is a very good pve pet, and still useful among the legendary ones.
