Trolls now have 3 days to rage in your faction

So now if you want to remove somebody from faction and they happen to have 5k merit they get a 3 day grace period first. So this means faction leaders no longer have any recourse to have somebody immediately removed from faction for behaving badly. It also means they have 3 days to rage/troll/whatever once they realize you're kicking them.
Sorry PWI but this was one really stupid move. Just because somebody stays long enough to get 5k merit doesn't mean they won't create drama. You need to give faction leaders back the option to remove people from the faction immediately...even if they have to go to the faction base to do it.

Is it actually confirmed that people can still talk in faction chat then?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

From what I have read a while ago, yes. They still have all faction privileges until they get kicked. They'll just have a red name in the guild list until then.
At that time it's best to just either put them on black list, or ignore them. If they misbehave and try to induce drama, then that'll be a good thing for the faction, as they would know never to invite that person back if they ever re-apply in the future.[SIGPIC]Octavia is best pony![/SIGPIC]

Yup they can and he leader can change his decision and keep the person.
Leaders just need to tell their people to blacklist if something happen.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

But if they are needing removed from faction because they are already causing drama then leaders need the option to remove them without a 3 day wait. All it takes is one incident for factions to lose good people because one person can't be removed.
And even if your people agree to blacklist, this person is still walking around representing the faction and reflecting poorly on that faction during those 3 days. This means scammers as well.
This is NOT acceptable and PWI needs to fix this now.0 -

I fully agree with this then. Keeping them in faction is just bs.
Blacklisting? Eh. Sure, you can, but then everyone would have to do and you would have to tell everyone logging in to the thing. It just creates a way uneasy and bad atmosphere. Besides, I could hardly blacklist them, seeing I'm an officer and thus the one having to know what's going on. lol
Seriously, a few points in merit vs that kind of drama? Which stuff were the developers on when they thought that would ever be a good idea? f:fume[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Then just don't invite all random people you see, make applications on your forum, make your officers to interview the person, ask in guild chat before the invite if anyone have a problem with.
If a ''good'' member leave cause someone get kick within 72 hours than they are not that good and stupid to don't just use BL.
As for scammers make your leader wc that the person is kick and will be out in 72 hours. If someone scream in wc that your faction is scamming than be a leader and pm and discuss with the person saying you kicked the person, but have 72 hours cause of the merit.
You say a lot of ''if'' you don't sound like it happen, but usually the scammers are know by the community of your server it's your job to don't invite them in your faction. Plus usually scammers and drama makers are people that don't stay long in factions so it's rare you will get that issue, the prove? You are the only one complaining about it without had any incident happening.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm not happy about this at all either...it's pretty silly. Maybe if we can make a poll and see if we can have a change on this for our version, although I doubt[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

I'm sorry you disagree but the truth is no matter how well you do a job screening, these people can still get into faction. Also I was an officer in a faction for 3 years and I've seen plenty of instances where things have happened that if the person couldn't have been kicked would have been detrimental to the faction. And yes we would have lost good people who are not willing to put up with bs or who were unwilling to remain in a faction with somebody who was harrassing them. Trust me there are ways around blacklist.
And I'm not the only one unhappy about this. I just took the time to post so it is brought to everyone's attention. I'm sure more people seeing this will agree with me than with you on this one, sorry.
If you really want to argue about this then give me a GOOD reason why they SHOULDN'T fix it? This 3 days serves no purpose.0 -

It's not about inviting everyone. In fact, whoever applies to the faction I'm in has to fill out an application and both faction and officers get to state their opinion about the person.
But drama happens. Although we didn't have a really bad situation with someone raging yet, I don't want to risk it.
I don't see the point of taking on all that drama you could avoid so easily just because of a few merit points. And imo, if they're doing that bad for the faction, they don't even deserve the goods from base.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

So far I didn't heard anyone having that issue, why want to change something on the supposition it will create issue?
It's 2 weeks we have that and on my server I heard no one having issue cause of it and the OP speak about supposition and not real case.
They probably made that to protect people with high merit that get kick by a leader that had a moment of rage or leader that click on the wrong person and yes I saw that a lot the leader click on the wrong name and the person lose all his merit.
The 72 hours protect people from leader that click the wrong name or can give the opportunity to the person to have a 72 hours trial to fix the things.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I wouldn't blacklist a kicked faction member who won't leave. I'd put them on the faction KOS list until they do leave. I guess that would be a perk for being on a pvp server.I **** bigger than you...

If PWI wants to protect people from accidently being kicked all they have to do is make it so the leader has to go into the faction base or something extra to really kick somebody immediately when necessary. They could still leave the 3 day option for leaders kicking inactives, etc.
And just because an issue hasn't been heard of doesn't mean one hasn't happened yet on any server. Not every faction leader posts on forums or runs around airing their dirty laundry pubicly. Bottom line is its the faction leaders shouldering the responsibility of their faction and all that details, not PWI. They should have the control over when and how to kick.0 -

Its kind of the same as making someone stay in a faction an extra 3 days when they decide they would like to quit...sucky, lol.
What possible benefit is there to doing this? What happened - what incident or issue - caused this dramatic change? Must of been something good to get IT involved in the first place, lol.
Saving Merit Points is about as lame an excuse, as making TW cost more to bid on, to supposedly make it easier for small factions to participate in TW...
yeah...uh huh...b:chuckle
Change it back.
(Did someone somehow hax a faction somewhere, and somehow manage to kick its owner??)0 -
What I'm interested in knowing is...
If you're kicked during TW, do you still receive a timer?
I'm wondering because if you have more than 80 online in a faction, if somebody enters when they aren't supposed to, be it accidental or a potential spy, and not allowing an "important" person to enter.0 -

Not that it has any impact on me, but I like this change.
A faction leader asked me for some time for a chat and it was about complaints from someone who wasn't in the faction. The person had been harassing me for not healing their Herc in Public Quest 2 and calling me names in the open. I explained this to them and they just wanted me to try to get along with others so he didn't have to deal with the drama.
-Well I didn't want to deal with drama either so I left his faction.
I've been in many factions and dealt with whiny worthless complainers. I've been kicked from factions for not bending over for them. I was building up contribution to attain rare veno pet skills only to have a leader tell me I had to sign up to his website or I'd be kicked (A site that didn't work for me). I quit and will never go back. I'm happy to see that the little guy has some recourse now.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

I'm going to assume it's the same guy who thought R9 was a good way to balance the game.
Of all the things to "fix" why factions? That makes as much sense as me trying to fix a banana smoothie while my oven is spewing out flames and trying to sacrifice my kittens to Satan...
There's at LEAST 10 or so things you could be "fixing" right now instead of that, honestly.PWI: Constantly **** you in the **** so much you can't sit to play anymore. No wonder people are so butthurt.0 -
Born_Free - Lost City wrote: »There's at LEAST 10 or so things you could be "fixing" right now instead of that, honestly.
I completely agree. The first thing that comes to mind is Vana, which I would have though they'd have fixed before overhauling to other working dungeons. Then again, maybe they will never fix it since they seem to be indirectly nerfing the high APS people by taking away their play spots (vana, seat, abba).
But regardless, if they're going to fix something that isn't broke maybe start with something that benefits players instead of pissing them off? I think allowing the faction leader and director to see the last log in date of a player (like EVERY other mmorpg I've ever seen) would have been far more beneficial. Right now it's a guessing game when kicking inactives.
And the 3 day grace period is fine but there still needs to be the immediate kick option when necessary, even if you make this require extra steps.0
