Got my harpy!! (Question on training it)

Worth every coin/penny that I used farming in game and in RL to get this baby. It's so pretty and the skills are so cool.

I'm not sure how to train it though. I went to Cube Room 4 at level 1. The Harpy was dealing damage. Like 2, 2, 2, but the health of the tombstone thingy wasn't going down!

Then I tried Staunch Worms, which was worse because they're like level 100 with 300 HP, and my Harpy was doing 2, 2, 2, damage once again. LOL.

Any input. I really wanted to cube it to my level..... Or was I using the wrong skill?

    You can kill those mobs with harpy out, on manual, not attacking, and it will gain exp.

    Mega congratulations f:victory I'm happy that you're enjoying it.

    Hmm, what you're describing there though..I'm really not sure what's going on.
    I trained mine in Valley of the Scarred but that's out of reach for you at the moment (assuming your avatar displays the correct level).

    You can either kill the monsters yourself or just go somewhere out there grind on monsters (getting DQ too!).
    Might just be that the Harpy's damage is horrible on very low levels but yeah I really can't help much since I trained her in a completely different way b:surrender

    I put the first 30 levels on my harpy in Scorpion Valley (there's a group of 7 scorpions that stay together near the north end, AOE bait.)

    Ancient Dooms have a really high HP regeneration rate. That's why regular bramble damage doesn't kill them after a few times--or, in your case, why the harpy isn't killing them.
    Normally, I'll level pets for the first few levels by killing the level 20ish to 30ish mobs outside of Archosaur. Or you could do the scorpion thing, too :3

    I hadn't realise they have a high HP regen rate o.o; but it makes sense now I guess. I've only used Cube to level my Hercules for some levels but other than that I prefered to be out there grinding on regular monsters for DQ while leveling. I just can't stand leveling in Cube

    @CaitlinDan: Near the head of the scorpion; pwdatabase gives the spawn point as 258, 473 for the leader mob that the rest follow (level 32 sabertail scorpid king) but they may spawn near the base of either claw as well. Made about a quarter mill selling the oils they drop to a catshop as a bonus.

    Tried and test. Awesome grinding spot, until your pet is level 30 (because mobs are level 32).

    The coordinate is 257, 471. Then basically pan around. You would see three different groups. One noxious would be enough to knock em out. Then look for the second group.

    After that the spawn becomes random around that area. So pay attention, unless you don't mind your pet dying. I couldn't bear to let my baby harpy die.

    Am I alone puzzled by this? -Why not go to 33 there then?

    Also why not closer to archosaur as in just south of it near or below hidden orchid? After which Dawn's Cry Island.

    Mayfly suggested that particular spot due to how the mobs crowd together around a boss. So one noxious easily nukes 5-9 mobs.

    That's weird, my harpy had no problems to kill those mobs at cube. Maybe you only need a few levels, like level 10 or 15.

    There's 1 level 32 leader (not really a boss, it's an ordinary mob) and 6 level 30 followers. One noxious centered on the leader will usually catch all 7 and kill them (if you have the harpy on auto, use . They'll respawn in a few (10-20) seconds... sometimes in the same spot, usually some distance away.

    I leveled my piggie from 68 to 100 only via stars in about a week. If it's a chore, I think you should just save 140 stars to evolve her and the rest just feed to her.
    I know it sucks because you probably have other pets you're saving stars to evolve, but I think it's worth it to wait and invest in her only for a bit.

    Well I'm level 91 at the moment, and I would need to get to 100 before I can enter Lycaeum instance.

    I also really want to train it to my level cause it's uber useful in FF/PV and various instances. At 57 it almost have more mag def than my 89 herc. The ranged attacks also make it really useful.

    My harpy's up to 60. (Would probably be a couple levels higher if I'd left it on my 101 instead of transferring to my 69 veno (now 70) when it was 59.) I'm used to spending time leveling pets. Saving stars for reshaping/mood changes. (Still have one more pet ready to evolve, and a plumpfish leveling up, too.)

    Just like the herc and nix, harpy and monkey can be transferred through account stash only. (I don't think evolved pets can be, though... there's that text when they evolve that says they can no longer be put in warehouse. Not quite sure what that's referring to.)

    I know! She's so incredible. I can't wait to see the kinda of output as well as the ways I can use her in PVE next time.
