I know this will make alot of speculations, and I hope I just can get the answer and no trash talk please....

Can you get banned if person A takes all stuff from persons B account. If person C gave the user id / pw from person B's account (B and C share accounts) to person A?

Well you get banned for sharing accounts so I would think yes, as to take the stuff would mean you are sharing.

Its one of the rules PWE doesnt enforce, if they did, they would cause massive hate towards themselves from playerbase. At this point its against ToS just so they cant be held possible in the high school drama spouses do to each others accounts.

Ps. I do know one in game couple that doesnt share info, then again accounting how many I do know, I am thinking there are few I dont know of but yes, most do indeed share info.

Thanks for your answers, tho I feel like I still dont know what I was trying to get...

If person B (who lost his stuff) felt angry, (obvioiusly) and reported person A for hacking/stealing/scamming w/e reason for stealing person B's stuff....

Does person A get banned? Or is it possible, more or less depends on if facts can be shown?

Truly, it really depends on the person on the other end of the ticket's attitude. Technically, all of the accounts in question would be IP banned and locked according to the ToS, and the old incident level chart which I can't find atm. The server tracks IP addresses for logins, and pretty much every activity your character makes, so it is pretty easy to track once reported.

Truly though, it's more likely that the person that has been reported will get a temporary ban, and the person reporting might get the satisfaction of knowing that the other person got banned.

In rare cases, person B might get the items back, assuming that person A hasn't traded/sold/NPC'ed them. If person A did trade/sell/NPC said items, person A is much less likely to get anything back. Again, this will depend entirely on the quality of the person on the Support end of the ticket.

I should also note, there are server bots that are set to detect things like this. If an account is regularly being logged in from multiple IP addresses, there's a good chance it will get auto-banned. Same goes for connecting via a proxy, or from restricted regions.

This is what happens when you share your account information. It is also the reason so many people claim to have been "****", when in reality, they weren't.

Yep, from what it sounds like on your (OP) not only 'A & B, but C also' would be banned (but not the (non-existant) fictitious D-F (since they wouldn't exist to know) But the first 3 would likely all be banned by the All To Real G's_(to the)_M's!!! b:pleased b:victory b:laugh

in other game i had all my staff taken from alt by person who knew my acc info for 2 years. when i reported then gms replied to me that they wont do anything about it cuz i shared my acc myself.
this game also doesn't allow sharing account, if gms find out it was shared they wont return anything, most likely they both would get banned. it's not rly hacking/stealing or scamming if you know account info and take the stuff.

well, how person A got B's info doesn't really matter and proving that it was by person C that shares accounts with B can be quite tricky. Additionally, it may not obvious that person A is not person B or that the trade between A and B was involuntary.

Many of us follow the rules. Many of us don't, simply because its not enforced. No one has access to my account, not even my ig wife.

To the OP: You cannot share accounts but you are free to give away the items/trade them in whatever way you want. So you can give all your items to someone, but they should not be logging into your account.

How the ToS is written, you don't technically own your account. You are allowed to use an account that is owned by PWI. They can take it from you, lock it, remove it, whatever, at their whim. Any money or items you invest on that account are sort of... donations to their account :D So its against ToS to giveaway an account that technically doesn't belong to you.

The only account sharing which seems truly reasonable is (and do note, I am just a pwi player, I am not an official... the following are also unacceptable in regards to account sharing) :

    1. You are a parent and getting your child's character (or pet/s) up in levels and gears, and likely culti quests... so your child can walk around and feel like they know what they are doing.

    2. You are living in the same residency with your spouse, partner, w/e and share a bed. As long as you share a bed, sharing an account should have no ill consequences... might even have a nice surprise of that new helm and cloak you were drooling over on your bday.

IF HOWEVER... for whatever reason... that bed sharing is discontinued (ie. divorce, break up), then you can bet your account will likely be on the line too... Change the password before they have a chance to sabotage your account! b:victory

I think its not really pwi s wish to do so, but a result of the enviromental laws.

At the moment they "sell", "gift" or give away accounts in any way
the account becomes a ware wich could be treatet like virtual currency.

Virtual or non-virtual currency s cause real life inflation wich is why states put taxes on them.

It s same with lottery and every other gambling like in casinos,
states have to enforce strong rules to keep up the value of their main currency.

Every dollar you put into game would double its value if you would "own" the stuff.
The dollar would still exist plus the newly generated item would exist
and if those values get out of game borders for example by trading on ebay
then the real dollar would suffer from virtual values.
(wich not really exist - especially if pw decides one day to close servers)

Such bubbles are dangerous and thats a reason virtual currencies like bitcoins are treatet very carefull from countries.

As stated by most of the previous posts, the people involved will probably get banned (specially persons A and B since proving that person C was the info giver would be hard, and besides the blame would still be on person B, for giving away their account info in the first place)

Since the main device to prove an irregular log in attempt on the Support side is IP tracking, if person's B account has a long history of various IP log ins (specially of the "log in from the US, log in from Bulgaria after an hour" kind...), it is highly probable that person B will be:
    a) Ignored
    b) banned for account sharing

there really is no way around it, and obviously, whatever the outcome, person B wouldn't get any of their items back, ever.

Due to PWE rules and personal experience with acct sharing (Yes I've been banned for it, yes I've learnt my lesson and no one has had access to my acct since) I would highly recommend against admitting this on the public forums, lol.

Fixed, on HL there's easy 90% people sharing account, I stopped pm people cause it's never the onwer and you never know who's answering.
Thanks for your answers, tho I feel like I still dont know what I was trying to get...

Does person A get banned? Or is it possible, more or less depends on if facts can be shown?

If A had access to B and B didn't had access to A than A won't get banned, it's the shared account that get ban, not the person that access a shared account, also when you send a ticket about scam and **** the first thing they check it's if the account is shared and they don't help scam/**** on shared accounts cause the person violated the TOS and did put his account in danger.

So example, your hubby give you his info oh his account and you use it, but he doesn't have your info and someone report, only his account will be ban cause his account was share and not yours.
So you say if i put 5000$ in game and the GM just wanna delete my character cuz he wake up with a bad hair this morning he can? The most stupid thing I ever heard. If you wake up a morning ban and you are a c$er just ticket saying you will stop to c$ if they don't unban, 95% of the time it work. (or just call them directly it's what people do on HL xD)

I personally wish they enforce the sharing accounts rule, for me it's one of the most annoying thing in game the sharing account.

For people saying ''yea, but hubby and wife it's normal'', no sorry, but even my irl boyfriend that I meet in this game don't have my info and I don't have his info.

If you can prove that someone **** your account (and that will be hard i guess) Person A would get banned for sure.
Problem is, If you SHARE your Account with ANYONE, then it "is your own fault". PWI doesnt have to take responsibility if you gave away your login dates and a third person got it, because they warned you.

Every right a User has about his Login dates is invalid if Person B shares his Account, so decides to give it away on his own will. And thats the reason why it is forbidden to share acc. It doesnt matter if its your wife, husband or brother.

In the end, PWI would have to care for personal conflicts between the users, whats impossible.

For example, how do PW know that you really just gave your dates to Person C and not to Person A as well? And probably just want person Cs As.s to be kicked because youre angry?
Or person B and C are the same person without your knowledge?

PWI cant decide whos the bad one and who did nothing, they can just react to violation of their terms because proven with Screenshots they can only help you with "facts".

    1. Try it and send in a ticket. Either they are ignoring it cause its your own fault or they are banning all of you, but not permanent i guess. Or at least they contact peron A as well.

    2. If you didnt do it yet, change your Password ASAP and dont tell your new dates to anyone.

    3. Read the terms and messages PWI even announce ingame, they often write thats "forbidden to share account information" or something like that.

Bottom line: If there is enough evidence to present a ban, then yes.

And what Saku said about our accounts is actually true and is written in the Terms and Conditions that you agree to when you make your account.

Which is why clicking the checkbox "I have read and understood the Terms and Conditions" is the largest lie of everyone, because most people don't bother.

Nop, the first thing they will check it's if B shared account, than they will say ''Sorry, but you violated the TOS we cannot help you''.

And funny thing it's B will risk to be ban cause he share his account and A will get nothing.

People that share account are idiots, I don't pity them. A month ago someone in my faction had that issue and he sent a ticket and they didn't help, the guy left the game saying PWI and GM suck, while it was actually his own fault.

Plain and simple ~ just dont do it. Whether it can likely get you banned dont do it. If you have these tiny doubts, go with it because if you worked hard in this game then suddenly log in to find your stuff missing and you told someone, likely they tossed the info around.

Most people make sure to switch and play with their passwords to ensure this from happening. I would never even share anything with friends or any family who had interest and wanted to test drive by using my character, and if friends tried to say its ok to use theirs, I flat out refuse. I'm not gonna get in trouble or take that bait.

Am just keeping safe, no harm in it.

So basically --- don't do it ~ consider lesson learned.

pw might ban you for scamming, taking items from another account.
pw might ban you for having more than 2 accounts, but you must prove you only use 2 at one time max
the rules seem simple enough, when you make account it is to be yours only, but if a third party gains info/given out pw is not responbile for what goes on with accounts, so account sharing seems legal but nothing will be done if something is stolen if your sharing

People who shares account confuses me sometimes when they went online:

    Me : "Hi X"
    X : "Its not X, its me Y"
    Me: " then who's on Y?"
    X : "O, thats Z"
    b:surrender

Also, sharing account may also damage their reputation, I once got a good cleric in lunar run, but this time she perform terribly (using wrong skills, etc), ends up it was another person using her account. In the end, said cleric was banned from my regular lunar squad b:cry.

Also to those who shared their account, don't raged quit when you logged on and find your R9 stuff NPCed.
