BH Aba Walkthrough

So this guide will help you stay alive as well as run a faster BH. 1st point I want to make is, we now can have a Party of up to 10 Ppl in this instance now. That being said, It means you don't need a Barb to kill Leaf Rain anymore, she dies vary fast with hf. Of course there is a boss named Puppet Master and although you can do this boss without a Barb it is much easier with one.
The reason I felt it important to say that 1st is for anyone who has alt 100+ toons. Eg: If my Mystic needs the BH, but the party needs a Barb for Puppet Master Boss. I can Be my Barb or Main toon to Kill Puppet Master, and simply change toons after he is dead to my Mystic for Leaf Rain Boss.
Now for the walk threw. At the start you will face a Valley of falling rocks. I think they do both phys, and Magic damage. On BM don't use a marrow, on Cleric stack yourself with IH and plume shell, Barb can Invoke, basically what i am getting at is use your defensive skills before running threw them. You can time the rocks there is safe spots to stand if your a cleric that needs to res someone who died in it. Just stop and look for them before leaping in head long you should be fine. 1/2 way threw the falling rocks are a bunch of mobs. 3 are mele, and 1 is ranged and he likes to kite. so its best if a barb or OP toon gets there before the squishy's in the party. Then another row of falling Rocks. After that there is Eyeball mobs easy to kill but they do have ranged attacks, and sometimes kite. After eyeball mobs is a bunch of mele mobs easy to pull with barb or OP toons gather and kill before Puppet boss.
Puppet Boss I regret that I don't know all about this boss yet so if anyone can add to it ty. What I do know is he likes to send 1 player to jail, I think its the toon that has aggro so from my exp its good if someone other then barb starts the fight this way they get sent to jail and not the barb. If spark is timed right then you can avoid being sent to jail. This boss also likes to summon Adds (mobs) barb should keep attacking boss, and everyone else should gank these mobs before they can do damage, Some do AOE.
After this boss dies a Door opens, and a NPC appears. There is NO NEED for the party to move from the location of Puppet Master Boss, Only the Sin! So sins stealth's past the mobs and talks to the npc. Nice to warn party before talking to NPC as this will teleport the whole party to the original Aba start location. BEWARE best if the Barb or Op toons cant hold off the mobs that come threw the door wile everyone else talks to the NPC. When you talk to the NPC you will select the 1st option at the top, this is Leaf Rain Dryad, and it will teleport you to the BH boss area. Remember You can change to the Alt who needs the BH after Puppet Master Boss. As the NPC at the Start now lets you teleport to Leaf Rain Right when you talk to them. Does not take more then 10secs if done right.
WARNING!! If you have died and are on your way back into the instance. Make sure you have full HP when you enter Aba and are talking to the npc to teleport you to the BH Boss (Leaf Rain) a mob will attack you with Poison damage and it hurts. Be rdy to use Crab Meat, or Hp Pots.
Pls respect that this is a new instance and others might not be aware of the stuff I have said in this post. Spread the word, and GL on your Rewards.

Nice info, what I really would like to know is, has any1 managed to solo kill puppet master? So far from what I have seen it`s impossible, due to jailing and it happens pretty fast in under 10 seconds after you have engaged in combat, So if you claim sparking works vs jailing, then nice timing while using IG and AD, etc. also could save you from being sent there ;o nice.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=14516063001&dateline=1364756666[/SIGPIC] Ty Silvy0

I used fire shell on wiz for the rocks, and magic marrow on bm. They seemed to be effective to me, but not sure.
You should throw in your guide some advice to let someone round up the eye mobs for AoE -(much faster and yet people aren't doing it).
Nice tip about the sin, but I like to retain control of any squad I make. The mobs are easy to round up and tank while the leader does the quest to port.
AoE's seem to be the best solution for the puppet boss as they free up fellow squad mates and kill boss at same time. (I've seen people focus on boss, and others focus on puppets and both worked as well).
I'm pretty sure the eyeballs can be avoided. They seem to spawn as the first person approaches, but I could be wrong. I've seen many opportunities to just run through the area when I got to it. Stragglers in the squad would be a problem.
I voted unsure because 10 ppl in squad means more hair brains and baby sitting. We've had Leaf Rain as a boss for a while now, and yet squad leaders are still allowing derpers to reset it's HP. -If they haven't learned by now -wts.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

Yeah it can be solod with timed sparking.

Damn, looked hard even for your OP gear, but thx for info about timing, will try it at some point, though zerk vs anti aps bosses hurt like hell and does more harm than good. b:surrender[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=14516063001&dateline=1364756666[/SIGPIC] Ty Silvy0 -

A wonderful addition to my post ty for the video, only one question. When fighting the Puppet Master I see him call out his puppets, but I don't see them appear. Is this because you pulled the boss off to the side? or am I just not seeing something.0 -

The only thing that's bad is the bleed. It's 10 seconds before the jail so it's a little annoying to block both. I could have blocked it with Blood Clot since I wasn't really using my genie.A wonderful addition to my post ty for the video, only one question. He always says that even if you block the jail (which also blocks the puppet from being spawned).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Bleed really isn`t the biggest problem per se, anything with half decent hp can survive it, but as it has anti aps buff, dmg you deal meleeing is pathetic and BP won`t recover as much, thus making bleed rather dangerous, meh I should experiment with nv3 and 3r9 daggs which would be better for this but not eager to die too much, charms melt like butter with high hp.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=14516063001&dateline=1364756666[/SIGPIC] Ty Silvy0 -

Puppets spawned are replacements for the people taken. If no one's caged, no puppets will be able to replace them.0 -
I tried soloing him on mystic the first day. I wasn't aware of the jail aspect, but instead after getting his HP down about 10%; I died (probably the bleed and I don't use charms). So does he jail people when soloed?Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0

Yes he still jails people if you are soloing, I gave it a go on my cleric before I saw Asterelle's vid. To solo it requires good timing on sparking to resist the jailing, sparking every 30 seconds as a caster may be a little tight.0 -
Has any1 soloed mask of grief yet? I'm interested in whatever technique might be used. I'm think the heal needs to be interrupted, as well as that heavy attack it unleashes- or perhaps figure out a way to abuse that immunity it gives. Thoughts?0

It means you don't need a Barb to kill Leaf Rain anymore, she dies vary fast with hf.
Never did: Any caster w/ ~13k hp can even probably easily tank it before and after.Of course there is a boss named Puppet Master and although you can do this boss without a Barb it is much easier with one.
Guide bloat: People don't want to wait for toon swaps; they don't even wait for buffs at start. Now for the walk threw. At the start you will face a Valley of falling rocks. I think they do both phys, and Magic damage.
Writing guide with *think*? What if this is all I'm reading it for? Do rocks explode into fire balls when they strike grass, or look man made? Announce where the walk through starts in mid-guide casually tucked in a paragraph? On BM don't use a marrow, on Cleric stack yourself with IH and plume shell, Barb can Invoke, basically what i am getting at is use your defensive skills before running threw them.
Invoke? You recommend going slow? Threw is a verb. I think you mean through. More important than buffs is timing. They can be passed w/o getting hit.You can time the rocks there is safe spots to stand if your a cleric that needs to res someone who died in it. Just stop and look for them before leaping in head long you should be fine.
Would be nice if you mentioned enabling mobs on minimap.1/2 way threw the falling rocks are a bunch of mobs.
Oh, was that the safe spot you were talking about. I thought it was 2 sets of falling objects with mobs between.3 are mele, and 1 is ranged and he likes to kite. so its best if a barb or OP toon gets there before the squishy's in the party. Then another row of falling Rocks. After that there is Eyeball mobs easy to kill but they do have ranged attacks, and sometimes kite. After eyeball mobs is a bunch of mele mobs easy to pull with barb or OP toons gather and kill before Puppet boss.
They only kite in beginning of battle. If they are rounded up I believe but aint sure that the round up time counts as beginning of battle.Puppet Boss I regret that I don't know all about this boss yet so if anyone can add to it ty.
Another let down. Why did you make guide? What I do know is he likes to send 1 player to jail, I think its the toon that has aggro
there's that think again.so from my exp its good if someone other then barb starts the fight this way they get sent to jail and not the barb.
Lets not mention that the boss should be lured with a range attack to the group, or that the puppet will not spawn if the target celestial erupts to prevent it, or that the boss turns toward the target it intends to puppet / jail (not the toon with aggro). If spark is timed right then you can avoid being sent to jail.
Spark? We gain sparks each time we hit, we're supposed to time them? I don't understand. This boss also likes to summon Adds (mobs) barb should keep attacking boss, and everyone else should gank these mobs before they can do damage, Some do AOE.
Depends on squad. Some squads kill boss fast enough for it to be a waste of time to kill puppets. After this boss dies a Door opens, and a NPC appears. There is NO NEED for the party to move from the location of Puppet Master Boss, Only the Sin!
Only the sin? -lol: NO. Any class that is lead can rush to the npc and activate the quest. When you talk to the NPC you will select the 1st option at the top, this is Leaf Rain Dryad, and it will teleport you to the BH boss area.
NPC's aren't consistent with quest lists.Remember You can change to the Alt who needs the BH after Puppet Master Boss.
If you want to be a jerk and make people wait.Pls respect that this is a new instance and others might not be aware of the stuff I have said in this post. Spread the word, and GL on your Rewards.
I think most players already know more than what's in this OP.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

So emo that you rush to defend a rushed walk through that holds no value and is thus a waste of time for people. So emo that you don't see the reason I responded. Unlike you my response is constructive. If someone feels butt hurt by correction; maybe they shouldn't be making guides or commenting. I invite constructive criticism, but your type of post is just garbage.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

Stay classy b:laugh. If you think it's a waste of time then don't come here.
On topic: Someone will go to jail regardless on Puppet boss. It seems to be the person with secondary DD. As Asterelle explained in his/her vid jailing occurs 10 seconds after aggro and every 30 seconds after that. Spark blocks it.
Mask is far from soloable due to the fact that if he is not down after 1 or 2 HFs he starts to oneshot people. Best way I've seen this done was to pack squad with highly refined APS DDs and wipe him in half a spark cycle. Easy enough as he is not anti-aps. Of course if you can dish out 12 million damage (accounting for 75% lvl. 150 damage reduction) in 30 seconds go ahead and solo him lol.
Mask tends to throw out a random buff to random players granting <immunity and full chi every few seconds>, but only does this if squad is taking longer to kill him.
What also needs to be there is this info:
Tree quest: if you don't have a mystic in squad, someone needs to talk to Withered Sapling around the middle of Abba, then go under the bridge North west of the plat and go into the water to dig a spring water, return it to the sapling, and it will grant squad an Invigorate buff for the final boss fight.
Puppets: Don't take all puppets at once please; Borobudur Dungeon Lord will spawn after the death of Mask, at the North-East opening to the chamber with the center plat. Follow him to where he stops and dies. Have your tank pull all mobs, following Borobudur, and then clear them where Borobudur stops and dies. This is where puppets spawn. Then kill the puppets one by one.
Borobudur Dungeon Lord (future abba): Lure him out of his group.
Some things to consider: a wizard or psychic should continue to keep aggro on the Borobudur Guards (P. immune mobs), or a barb should sunder with Poison fang and hold aggro. During the fight, when "Good and Evil" appears, kill the black mob that spawns (Borobudur: Evil <Ele. Immune>). He has much more HP than the pink Borobudur: Good <Ele. Immune>. During this time it is best to avoid AoEing with physical attacks, else you will kill Borobudur: Good (it has 1680 HP). Easy job for one or 2 non-tanking sins/archers/BMs. Two people should stand on both sides of Borobudur boss to quickly grab Borobudur: Evil. This also means you can't just sit a seeker in blender mode.
If Borobudur: Evil is not killed soon enough or Borobudur: Good dies then boss will be strengthened.Channels

I don't really accept the idea that Mask of grief can't be soloed considering I got it down to half hp before he healed- and i'm just a Mystic. I'm looking for confirmation from anyone with interrupt skills (like knife throw or shadow kick) to see if you really can follow the pop up message's advice and prevent the boss from healing or unleashing it's uber attack. Or if that immunity buff is really random, or based on aggro placement.
At the very least, i expect it's able to be killed with 2 people- which isn't so far off from solo in that dungeon- considering you need one other person in your squad to teleport to the past.0 -
Tree quest: if you don't have a mystic in squad, someone needs to talk to Withered Sapling around the middle of Abba, then go to where the old tower guard was and go into the water to dig a spring water, return it to the sapling, and it will grant squad an Invigorate buff for the final boss fight.
This is incorrect. You want to go to the Northwest bridge (the one by the old entrance), not the Northeast bridge (where the tower guard was.)Puppets: Don't take all puppets at once please; Borobudur Dungeon Lord will spawn after the death of Mask, at the North-East opening to the chamber with the center plat. Follow him to either the pool north of the plat, or right in front of Throm Mudan's room. Have your tank pull all mobs, following Borobudur, and then clear them where Borobudur stops and dies. Then kill the puppets one by one.
There are at least 3 spawn points for the puppets: the northern pool (winged elf and human puppets), by Thom Mundan (earthguard and untamed puppets) and across the bridge by the old tower guard (winged elf and tideborn puppets if I remember right, only seen them once.) I doubt there's any more, as those are the three branches off the arm where Borobodur spawns.
You should always pull and kill the healer (cleric or mystic, depending on group) first.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
