A program that automatically performs some function of the game. They are illegal to use in PWI as it circumvents fair play and can cause damage to economies/games if too many people are doing it. While it isn't a large enough problem here for it to be a huge issue, some of our content does get nerfed because of the extensive problem they have in China with them. While these botting programs are easily available to use for pwi, they never became a problem for whatever reason.
Either because pwe actually banned the bots or that bots cannot compete with packs inflating economy with a bunch of coin anyways.

in west arch 3-4 catshops set shop with like 12 stacks of 100 dq 30-35 point value DQ they have it like every day and i buy it all the time i dont know how they get it because i dout that they farm it all i spend like 16 mil a day on dq and they have it everyday you shold investigate or inform the gmsb:bye

I've bin wondering for a while now... Is Sweetiebot actually allowed on here? It's still a bot auto-posting on the forums... Some GM's might not like it... It's a nicely programmed bot though... I wouldn't want to see it leave... f:ponder

People use in game bots to take advantage on other players.

SweetieBot is helpful and entertaining and give no advantage to is creator on the forum.

That's the difference.

The Bots are a big joke, that's not real ! It's IMPOSSIBLE in this game!
That you see is just people killing mobs for quests

There is some fake program that **** your acc while you think its a bot and worth like $200!

Don't be absurd that's not possible to "bot" in this game

If you use any of these **** program ... you LOSE YOUR ACCOUNT!

Here is the section in the Terms of Service that describes botting. It's not relevant to sweetiebot since she doesn't play the actual game.

(i) ENABLES OR FACILITATES CHEATING OF ANY TYPE;
(ii) ALLOWS USERS TO MODIFY OR **** THE SOFTWARE INTERFACE, ENVIRONMENT, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IN ANY WAY NOT EXPRESSLY AUTHORIZED BY PWE; OR
(iii) INTERCEPTS, "MINES," OR OTHERWISE COLLECTS INFORMATION FROM OR THROUGH THE SOFTWARE.

Here are the Forum's Rules of Conduct

I don't see anything that forbids automated messages. You can use any software you want to post to the forum since PWE does not make its own web browser.

The reason why you don't see other bots posting is:

10. No advertising of any sort.

That doesn't apply to sweetiebot since she doesn't advertise anything.

Now there are rules in there for being "on topic", "no trolling", and "no spamming". Sweetiebot is only on topic as much as the message she is replying to is.

Now there is a problem where people think that just because Sweetiebot responds to something they say that what they say isn't spamming. I'll probably be adding some kind of message to sweetiebot conversations on General Discussion urging them to instead post in the Off-topic forum.

I once saw a sin constantly killing mobs on Momaganon, on the apes area, his name was -removed- I remember, I used to pass by there on my farming herbs route and always seeing him there... One day I say "Hi!

" and he didn't answer, and kept killing... I thought "Alright, he's busy, he doesn't like people or don't wanna talk...". Other day, kept seeing him everyday killing always the same mobs, tried again "Hi!...", nothing... Then I started watching him more carefully... but idk it didn't seem a bot, I didn't see him using the skills repeatedly by the same order on each mob... Idk how a bot works exactly, but as he never answered my tries to talk to him, I thought it'd be a bot...

But on serious note on the dq sellers, they may bot they may not bot, no idea to be honest. But I know they are out there, some are obvious some are not. I have known a few people that farmed (not bot) various level ranges of mobs and sold dq in catshops. Usualy would farm a week then sell them in the catshop the next week.

The dq market is not as large as it use to be. There were a lot of buy/sell dq shops which did no farming at all. They just bought and sold dq at a markup, just like other shops. Most of my dq comes from random boredness and farming high level mobs, 100-110 or in map3 on the ? mobs or in insances and tt 3-x. During 2x i can get around 9 30 point dq times, takes about 30 secs to do the pull and kill them all. now if i did that for an hour i would have around 500 dq items. That is accounting i do 60 pulls. which if you count pick time and respawn is about right. so do that a couple hours a day all of 2x and you got a large stash of dq items to merchant

i have a couple catshops on both my accounts that i leveled up so they can take the lucid quests(among my other toons) most if not all low lvl catshops have mains, they just stash their wares or trade them between accounts.

Is it cheating to go afk with a script mashing buttons like pack opening on a hot bar, or auto attacking and picking up drops? It's not modifying the game or files, but just an afk macro. Probably is cheating since any normal player isn't spending hours and hours in the same area spamming auto attack and drops pick up with an auto-pot activated.

It's not modifying game files, but it is a use of a third party program with the game to take advantage, so yes, of course.

It's also good to remember that some of these DQ/material shops merchant their stocks first. They buy and sell. Or only sell if they're full.

I think opening packs would be allowed but not killing mobs or picking drops.

When R9 sales first came and people were forced to open 136,653 chip packs frankie stated something along the lines of they 'weren't banning anyone for their method of opening packs'.
