    Seeing as there is no NPC listed on the item and no auto-quest gained, many have assumed that it is a "troll" on PW's part, but in reality, the item has no function and can be sold or let the timer run out.

    It really could quite easily be a "Right click to open" item that you get at the end of the quest.
