Had to system restore.

I had to do a system restore on my computer because camera view turning was entirely messed up, but it was something to do with my computer itself cause it happened the first time sunday night and other things were loading/running strangely as well, not just pwi. After I restored, it said the system has recovered from a serious error and didn't happen again till today after I was already playing pwi today (after a successful update). So after restoring my computer again to an even earlier date, I ran the patcher. It allowed me to go to the log in page, so I figured, "cool I don't have to re-update/verify anything", but then it told me the client version was too low and to update it.

So I closed out and reopened the patcher, clicked verify and let it run till it was finished. Now when I click Start it sits there for a minute and then closes the patcher and loads nothing. I'm pretty sure the patcher version itself isn't still up to date, it's "Gamer Version: 729" and I'm fairly sure it was 736 or so from a glance after the first time updating. I went into pwi files already to try the Patcher Patcher already and that didn't help any. All it did was do as the normal patcher does before it allows you to click start, and I clicked start, it re-opened and did everything again. This time though it went back to just closing and not loading anything. So is there a link I can get/go to to update it? Or if it is still already the correct version anyone have any ideas? I'm really hoping not to have to re-install or redownload anything.. My installer was last downloaded before the descent update e.e.........dot..dot..dot..Dot.Dot.Dot.DOT!DOT!DOT!

    Going to need more information.

    Also, a couple of things....

    1. It's not likely the client cause the system to become corrupted so that you had to do a system restore. The client doesn't make any changes to your system whether installing, or running.

    2. Restoring your system from a previous date, only affects drivers, system files and/or configuration, and possibly software presets stored in the registry. Since the client would not be affected by any of these, with the small exception being that restoring your system to a time before PWI was installed could possibly remove the un-install option from your add/remove programs menu.

    3. Download the manual patch. If you don't know where the latest patch is, check the first page or two of the Maintenance Discussion thread that is posted every Tuesday before maintenance. Someone, or SweetieBot will post it there.

    1. I know.. I never said pwi was the reason. I said.. "but it was something to do with my computer itself cause it happened the first time sunday night and other things were loading/running strangely as well, not just pwi." in other words there wasn't a problem with pwi, or by the fault of pwi.

    2. Then why did nothing happen after the update, even after restarting my computer a few times, pwi still worked perfectly fine aside from while my comp was messing up. It was only after the restoration that I had any problems with the client/patcher alone. I also ran across another thread where someone had an issue after restoring their computer some time last year, but all they had to do was verify files and theirs worked again. Unfortunately I already tried that and it didn't help.

    3. I just finished trying to re-update with the 719-729 patch link and it says "Version and client are same" and then "Updates complete. Please lick the confirm and restart the update for confirm was the client version updated." (Barely makes sense to be literal but not important it is word for word though)

As for "need more information", give me a moment to switch, I'm on a separate computer right now.

Actually I'm just going to delete and re-install pwi, it seems like it's going to take a lot longer to collect all the information with dxdiag, HJT, etc. and wait for whoever to sift through everything in order to help. I'll come back if I still can't get anywhere.

also.. for 2. pwi is working again after undoing the system restore, but I'm still having the problems with everything loading slow and screen angle turning issues.. So I've decided I'm going to run antivirus etc. and see if I can fix my computers problem directly so I don't have to system restore.

    1).Exclude PWI from your anti-virus.
    2).Update your video drivers.
3).Use"Verify" option from launcher 3 times back to back.

See if this is resolves yours issue or not, If not then provide some data of your system.
