R8r; Purify or Defense level

I was wondering what you guys think of the R8r weapon and what you think it should be used for.


I was thinking of getting it for the purify proc, but I was told it doesn't proc very much. Now I don't know if I want to get it. :S

So, what do you guys think: Should I get it for the def levels? the purify? or not at all? o3o

    R8r Purify doesn't proc as much as R999 one...someone had done some testing and I think it was 8% vs 14% chance of procing or something similar to that. Don't take my word on it, I really don't remember.

    I'd suggest the defence levels because unless you have really good gear, the purify proc won't help you much in that case.

    Get it for def levels. Puri proc rate is much higher on r9rr.

    Pretty much what Desdi said, if you don't have a good survivability purify won't help, purify don't save people that get 1-2 shots.

    So at that point get the R8r with defense lvls and maybe make a dext genie with fortify and Badge of courage.

    It was my testing actually, in a past life I had r8r purify for over half a year, then got my r9rr. The proc rate is roughly double on the r9rr; 7% vs 14% is, indeed, what my crude tests showed at the time. Given that, defense levels is very likely your best bet. If you had considered infinite, again don't bother with that; my tests show its proc rate is 5-7%, too low to do much good with.

    I plan on getting it for the Def levels, the -chan, and the +crit. I'll probably shard it with -chan stones too.

    The purify is neat, but I don't have much of a problem with that in PvP. The def levels and the other stats will help me out a lot more.

    Tbh if you get def lvls you wouldnt care about the other stats. trust me. I got def lvls and i kept it, but i was lucky with other stats, i got vit, att lvl and reduce physical damage taken. You shouldn't care so much about channeling.
