Opinions on g16 rerol - Silence of frost

Recently I got the coin and level to get myself a Silence of frost ( http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/34774) with following stats :

2 sockets

Atk. Level +40
Critical Hit Rate +1%
Reduce Physical damage taken +2%
Dexterity +18

These are the possible attributes you can get :

I'm a pure AA veno with 56 str and 449 mag
Doing both, PvE and PvP (Nation Wars)
My mindset is, the best defense is offense.

A rerol would cost me about 7.5M but I'm a bit broke atm and still need to update my gear to g15/16. Mainly making money through BH and NW since veno's are slow to farm TT or clear FC's for coin. So my question is :

Upgrade and chard the weapon or save up for a rerol? Opinions, arguments, examples?

I think it's a decent temp roll; basically 2% crit and 1 def lvl.
I'd finish upgrading my gear (putting perfect sapphires and +3 in the meantime). The real issue is the 20 badges/roll. Also, you have 2 sockets which is really nice; you might want to consider getting chienkuns to keep that (or keep this roll because of the second socket; with gems it's 75 mattack extra)

btw you posted the possible stats for the g15 version.

If I recall correctly it is 27 chienkuns to save 2 sockets. You might consider getting some while they are on sale so you can keep the sockets when you reroll (if you decide to go that path).

Personally I would reroll it.

Lol, its on the G15 page you linked in the "Used in crafting the Follow:" list.

Depends on how picky you are. I plan on sharing my G16 weapon with all my casters so I'm hoping for better adds and looking at 5-20 rerolls. I personally am aiming for a pool with on the highlighted adds in it:

I'm pretty picky so saving sockets wouldn't be worth it to me. 27 chienkun at 800k ea would be about 21.6m per reroll and if I expect to reroll 10 times... Easier just to wait and I can add the second socket when I have what I want, I've +10d it, and I've put my first G11 Sapphire in. It sounds like if you have under G15 gear and can't afford 7m for a reroll you shouldn't be spending 21m right now to keep a second socket either.

So. Focus on armor. Living longer means more opportunities to hit people back anyways, more purges, more time for people to rescue you... And better defenses may mean they just kill themselves on bramble before you die, lol.

Get your weapon to +3 and stick a temporary flawless sapphire in there. You won't lose +3 when you reroll. You may want to try 1 more reroll just to test your luck for more dph but up to you.

if you accept vit, why not hp? for most casters it's 200hp plus some def vs 350hp. I assume that you don't want to rely on str due to the BM disarm right?

I'll have to agree that it would probably be wise to try and focus on upgrading your armor and keep the weapon as it is for now. Make it +3 and add some cheap shards. It's still decent damage even at +3 (back when I made my Glaive, at +3 unsharded, it was hitting about the same or slightly harder than my old R8 +10 with two Sapphire Gems f:scared).

It's not an awfully bad roll either; if you're Demon and also have other +Crit bonuses then it's pretty sweet for a temporary weapon. If you're Sage, it's still a nice boost in the crit rate.

In the end, once you've gotten your hands on better armor you could consider re-rolling the weapon. Personally I would reroll it, when having the chance to, because I'd rather have a magic stat (to hit the 500 or 600 magic mark for the damage multiplier; depending on the stats you get from the rest of the gear) on the weapon and some extra HP/Vit bonuses would be very nice too.

I use the silence of frost. 1 socket, magic 18, magic attack 100, 1% crit and it took me 10 rolls to get that decent stats. i have a saph gem in there +6. it will go to my cleric when i'm done. I'm working on rrr9 weapon. i will only use pataka on cleric for clearing pavs or if i ever did nw with her. i use veno for nw/tw.

Get magic in your weapon when you can. i'm full g16. but going full rrr9.

so to recap : It's not the worst roll and will do for now, but whenever I have my full g16 gear and coins to spare I should go for a reroll and try to save the second socket and get some magic stats on it?

Sockets that expensive to add to g16 items? As for shards, 2 flawless saphire shards will do or should I go for a higher tier?

I wouldn't say it's worth spending so much to keep the 2 sockets

imagine if you get a horrible roll..all that coin you used on the stones for saving the sockets would be a waste.

Overall, though, yeah..focus on your gear and reroll the weapon later. If it's not too much you could get sapphire shards from Corona in Morai otherwise flawless are ok.

A defensive wep (HP/Vit) is not bad either if you're not very wealthy in-game and want to get as much survivability as possible but judging by the OP's playstyle and having my personal preference as well..I'd opt for at least a magic stat add.
