why cant i dl pwi without arc

your arc does nothing but overwork my comp its another bull**** abortion your trying to keep alive when i run games by your company it affects my comp like other programs or software does not. Point blank you need to make it so you can dl pwi without using arc i am running an alienware built specifically for gaming and when i dl arc it sent my comp usage through the ****ing roof i wil not lose a comp to your programs fix it or do away with having to dl arc to dl the client.

    I crash everytime i try to open PWi using Arc. This only happens for this Client.
    May have to stopp laying this cause i am not trashing a new laptop i paid top dollar for.

    i am a computer sciences major with hardware and tech support. I have only seen this with steam occasionally . A 2k+ laptop cto should not crash while running this client type. i am now looking to see if windows8 is the culprit, but lean toward the arc.

    Ah, I see. Who allowed you to graduate college with that major when you can't even diagnose something as simple as a client-side limitation?

    1.) You didn't post any system information. It's as if you simply came by to post some rage oriented reply and don't seem to care for support on your issue.

    2.) If your laptop is crashing, it's surely not an issue with the game itself. This could be due to faulty hardware, overheating and/or cooling issues, or software & driver issues with your graphics drivers, etc. The list goes on. But I can assure you that I've set up PWI in Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 - all working.

    3.) If the game is crashing, it's due to a 2GB RAM limitation on the elementclient.exe file. A workaround is available, but you must search and find the answers yourself.

    4.) Arc is a new platform pushed by PWE. It doesn't cause computers to crash... It can even be bypassed after installing/downloading your game, by opening the client exe in the game's folder, or by using the patcher in the game folder.

    5.) Congrats on spending over $2,000 (I presume USD), on a laptop for gaming. This is quite a feat. Unfortunately, if you are playing games that are pushing 8-10 years on a brand new system, you will run into a hearty sum of issues. Take a tip. Uninstall PWI, and play a game that can actually utilize parts of your $2k system. I wouldn't waste a two-thousand dollar computer's CPU power on some old game unless I was a fanatic.
