I have such a hard time deciding between VM or Sin?

You should easily be able to play/level both a sin and a venomancer with a little effort! They're two of my favorite classes too, both fun in their own ways.

You can even use your veno to fund your sin. Venos are great starter classes, because have a pet as a partner helps teach you aggro mechanics early on, and they're very low maintenance regarding mp use and armor repair. You can literally never need mp pots as a veno, because you have a "heal" for mana and skills don't cost too much. And if you've seen the new level 100 fox form, maybe transforming into a fox wouldn't be so bad? b:laugh

Another thing, there are easy quests you can take now (lvls 21-80 if I recall, just visit your local Jolly Ol' Jones npc at the starter areas for Elves/Untamed/Humans), that give excellent coin! It would be easy to do these quests on your veno, and put the coin in your shared account stash (a banker feature, every account gets free money transferring without needing the stash stone from the cash shop, and it saves you from having to mail coin)

Sins are a little more fun when they have better gear, since you're a mele LA character, and...LA was honestly not meant to really take mele hits. So you can use your veno to fund good gear for your sin.

I also recommend learning the apothecary crafting skill on your sin, because you can make really helpful pots that make early sin gameplay a lot more fun. Life Powder (lvl1, 15 nectar and 10 golden herb for 5) increases your hp regen by 50 per second for 10 minutes, so you don't have to meditate as much. Focus Powder (lvl2, 15 crane herb and 10 salvia root for 5) does the same for your mana, which is really fun when you get stealth.

OH! And I really recommend beginning the Dragon Quest feature on one of your characters, or both for ease of trading items, but definitely your sin. Dragon Quest items below lvl 81 were reduced to 1 coin npc prices a while back, BUT you can get your sin a very important, very desirable piece of armor by doing Dragon Quests. Bracers of Blood Moon. These bracers are rare, and tradeable, so when you get them and grow out of them, you can sell them to help fund replacement gear. Or, since you're posting from an archer, they can use them too.

Dragon Quest is rather tedious, I will warn you, but I think funding such a nice piece of gear so early is better than selling the 1 coin DQ items for meager rewards. DQ items 81+ still npc for fairly good coin, which can help you get DQ points for neat items.

Choosing your server is important early on, because you can't transfer characters/items/coin between servers.

Servers are separated by timezone. Ideally, you should choose a server with a timezone close to your own, so that most events aren't happening during times you can't participate due to school/work/sleep. You should also choose a server with low ping. Ping is how well your client is communicating with the server, and the lower the better. High ping causes lag and disconnects, and generally makes gameplay unpleasant.

Lost City (West Coast) and Harshlands (East Coast) are the two PVP servers, where you become white named at level 30 and can be attacked by/attack any other player. I hear this isn't much of a problem anymore, due to rampant power leveling and the endgame gear power creep.

The other servers are all PVE, which means you're blue named (safe) unless you choose to enter pk mode, enter an event/instance that has pvp enabled (although most events/instances where this happens are safe and you can't drop gear), or duel people. Pvp really isn't that bad, especially Nation War for later on, since it gives you helpful rewards for relatively little cost.

It's good to base your character choice on personal prefs, you should enjoy your character and your time here as much as you can because it's a game. That's what games are for.

Well of course i need to start by telling you venomancer. But anyway about the servers.

I too am from europe and im playing on a US server. I seem to have quite some lag. This for example prevents me from using my interupt skill effectively. Now in PvE that isnt a disaster but i immagine this lag could be quite a disadvantage in PvP. I dont know though because i havent PvPed yet. Also do i not know how much better it is when you do choose the euro server. Maybe someone can shine some light on this ?

Besides that, there are also economic differences between the servers. Archosaur has a much lower gold price that other servers. I assume that means there must be more cash shoppers on my server. That in turn probably means there must be more overpowered characters in the PvP environment which seems like a disadvantages. On the other side however, you need fewer coins to buy gold for CS items and more cashshoppers who open packs should mean a bigger supply of such items as well. Not sure how the prices of the mayor pack items (like high end shards) compare to other servers though because i have never been on another server so i cant compare. Again maybe someone else can say more about this too And possibly go a bit deeper into the effects of the different economies.

Oh yes and of course event times. Playing on a US server while you are in europa really screws up with your sleeping ryth if you want to do events like NW
